The story captures the essence of the classic whodunit, blending suspense, misdirection, and meticulous deduction. The plot unfolds through the eyes of Arthur Hastings, a war veteran who reconnects with Poirot, a displaced Belgian detective living nearby. Together, they dive into a tangled web of secrets, alibis, and motives. Every clue, from a shattered coffee cup to a burned letter, is masterfully placed to keep readers guessing. @@alanfordyce I enjoyed it too. It is interesting to me that Fraser did this abbridged version as well, I didn't know that. I know the story so very well, they really did a good job in leaving out bits and pieces without damaging the storyline. I liked this.
Assuming 'they' means UK Brits, not back in 1916 when this was written. For me (64 yr old UK Brit), I can work with either system (brain adjusts according to context), but my 40 yr old daughter is Celsius only. So the transition is relatively recent. Interesting comment though! 80C would indeed be incredibly hot!

@janelhopkinspierson9159 If it is an AI version of the delightful Hugh, it's a damn fine one. May I ask what you hear, that I don't? Normally, I can pick an AI, but I am at a loss here.
@@dalemaree7022 wow, didn't think of that possibility. The only thing I noticed is that het didn't go deep into altering his voice to the different characters as in the not abridged version. But I thought that was because it was abridged. Bummer if it would be an AI.
Hugh Fraser narrated "the Mysterious affair at Styles". Why would they bother to get an AI rendition of the book when Fraser narrated it? This is Hugh Fraser.

Severely abridged but quite nice.
Great
They said it was a glorious day of 80 degrees. Don’t they use Celsius? Wouldn’t 80 degrees be incredibly hot??
