There’s been a few tracks in my life that I can distinctly remember the very first time I heard them this is one of them. The fact that it still sounds new 25+ years later says it all.
Breeder weren't bothered about profit they only the cared that Sasha and Digweed played their tracks. The title Twilo Thunder is in regards to Sasha and Digweeds legendary residency at Twilo NYC.
I remember reading about that fact in the booklet of the sasha global underground Cd where I first heard Breeders music. They literally made tunes for sasha and Digweed. And thank god they did jesus
I do miss that last Friday night of the month when Sasha & digweed would spin after Jimmy van M opened. The club was legendary, the phazon was un real and even 20+yrs later those were still some of the most amazing nights of my life.
Electronic music had a good 12-15 year run. It was inevitable that things would get overly popular. When you have the likes of Budweiser and Tuborg sponsoring events that are based on music that itself is based on chemically induced highs...you know it's a fucking backwards situation. You can't have it all, I'm afraid. Just very grateful I got to experience it all in it's run up to and including it's peak. The world's a far more cynical place now, we were better off being completely ignorant of each other.
I heard nick warren play this in 1995 or 96 in an essential mix on radio one i feel in love with dance music the miniute i heard this tune i am now 42 and I am still in love with dance music and this tune...thank you nick for playing it and thanks breeder for making it what a TUNE....
This track reminds me of raving at home before the big party to Trance Nation Vol1 mixed by Ferry Corsten. This song gives me butterflies whenever I hear it. I love the way it just keeps building.
Rowan Blades and Simon Noble were the due known as breeder and they ran the peak time progressive production from 97-2001..Legendary tracks from these guys that Sasha would get all their production before any other Dj in the world..Sasha showed the world how powerful and talented these two were..Absolute legends in the progressive trance world these 2 are!!!
Pretty sure I recall reading somewhere they never bothered releasing promo copies. They just gave one each to Sasha and Digweed and let the reputation grow from there.
And yes, they're definitely Rowan Blades& Simon Noble. For some reason I think they're from Norfolk? No idea, their Wikipedia page has nothing on it! GU009 changed my life and that second breakdown is ridiculous! Always recall it was very short to mix out from though. My belt-driven bedroom decks had a torrid time keeping under control
I've read that with this track, Breeder tried to replicate the massive sound of the Twilo club system. Wish I could have gone there when it was around, and heard their tracks being mixed.
I remember this being on every trance compilation CD that you could buy in the late 90s and early 2000s. Good God I'm getting old, but this track takes me back 15 years ago and give me the same euphoric feeling it did then...minus the X!!!
I completely agree to that! I used to spend most of my waking moments listening to music like this back then. and still today when i listen to this, that passion for music floods back to me. Sadly today's trance is quite week compared to the late 90's.
Lol yeah man i've started going back out again after years i go to some great events, one where classics like this are played every day and with added X : )
can someone help me as i have been looking for a track similar to this track may even be this track. I heard something similar at sleaze 2000 degrees sydney.. just cant put a finger on it as it sounds very similar almost the same...
Certainly not hard trance. IMO this is from the era when the lines between progressive house and progressive trance were a sweet, mushy breakdown filled blur.
Well said, back then this stuff was so cutting edge it couldnt be put into a category. I just said Progressive and was done with it. Progressive back then just mean whatever was cutting edge and ahead of the curve. This track was all of that and then some.
House?! it cant be house. too trancy to be house. parts of it reminds me of vincent de moor's mix of symmetry. or the popular dutch trance era when ferry courston emerged. Either way it one that always gets my mindset on music, and i'll listen to it for hours straight
TheSheepPimp I found progressive house very different from this though. the baseline and tempo has a throbbing sound which resembles a lot of trance back then. according to discogs the term for this is progressive trance.
nevermind discogs i was there, prog house/trance at that time was a fine line the onlyy difference was tempo and what time dj was on. either way its shit hot tunes.
This track on Sasha's San Fran GU feeding into Movin through your system...It doesn't get any better
There’s been a few tracks in my life that I can distinctly remember the very first time I heard them this is one of them. The fact that it still sounds new 25+ years later says it all.
This is why trance will never die , it's true if everyone was listening to this and understood it there would 100 percent be 🌎 peace

Pay close Attention... This is Music from another Dimension...!
Breeder were the hottest thing in the late 90s. Their tracks would always mix awesomely into each other.. 137 bpm, A minor. +Best kick drums.

Pretty much prog house
Certainly not hard trance. IMO this is from the era when the lines between progressive house and progressive trance were a sweet, mushy breakdown filled blur.
