The British ruling is an example of great management and power of uncorrupted true governance. India is still struggling to follow the rules set by them, whereas Britishers are far far ahead of us. First of all, Indians used better clothes before Europeans know about proper dressing. India is an exporter of high-quality cotton before Europeans landed in India. Our weavers know how to make high-quality silk clothes before Europeans came here. First of all Cultivation of Cotton crops, cultivation of silkworms is an essential part of cloth-making. This part is known to Indians much before Europeans and if you give credit to Europeans for clothing that is up to your brain level. And this puri is saying that pant shirt invented by British and ignoring contribution of cloth making.
Coming to religion Christianity is exported to Europe from Asia. Britishers don't have any contribution to the origin of Christianity. Even now most of the Indians are following Hinduism, not Christianity. And BJP is winning the elections which indicate the mood of the nation.
Coming to language even before Britishers came to India we have many local languages which are very well established. Many parts of the world don't have well-established languages so English engulfed all other small languages. As they conquered many parts which are not well organised the English become common language. English also took many words from other languages. Learning English is not slavery and it is mastery. Real slavery is losing mother tongue for a foreign language. India doesn't have that problem.
Toothpaste was not invented by Britishers. Maybe you are assuming that every white person on the planet is a Britisher. Indians used better product for brushing ie neem stick for decades.
Change in habits of people will obviously come from time to time. New products will come whether from outside or within the country and replace old products. That doesn't mean we are slaves. Britishers using Numbers invented by Indians, Eating Sugar invented by Indians, enjoying development which they got through huge funds paid by Indians on the name of tax. Puri kind of people will give credit to foreigners as they worship westerners.
