I had a 1965 comet cyclone k code. Same engine, 4 speed and color. Love this car. Also had a red 1963 sport coupe w/auto and bucket seats. Love the mid sixties Fords/Mercury line up.
The Mercury K code motor was not the same as the Ford k code motor. It was a standard 289 with a four barrell

CORRECT...
None came with HIPO.
Beautiful car. I see it has been changed from a generator to alternator,

Yeah, that was the first thing I heard was those solid lifters....I had a '66 K code GT Mustang back in the day!!
My dad had a 1963.5 Fairlane with a 289 H.P. and a top loader 4spd. When I was 10 years old, I remember going with him and trading it in for a 1969 Torino cobra jet with an automatic so my mom cold drive it. Both were white with red stripe and red interior . Wish I have either of them now. For some reason I got into VW’s, 1955 bug black with red interior and a whooping 36 hp
Beautiful car ,would love to see a burnout!
I'd paint the insert on the side Black..Great car..I have a 62 😎
I’d love to see a cold start of this
A Money Making "Sleeper" 😊😮
How much horsepower?
I just heard about the super charger 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Run those valves
Is this car for sale?
It sold a few days ago
Is th3 block 5 bolt bell
Should be
Lash sounds more rattly than even normal. I would always run my lash down to about 10 or 15 and you wouldn't hear that knocking. No need for it
Valve lash settings are specific to the cam design and one should not change simply to eliminate or soften the natural noise. No flame intended but that's a poor decision.
@@robertlikis3386 It is a commonly acceptable change that can be made on nearly any cam for more than one reason and cam manufacturers agree. This cam is mild and can easily handle a tightening of the lash. And it is not just for the noise. Do you realize that the noise is the valvetrain knocking into itself? Tightening the lash adresses reliability and wear issues.
You should jack it up , put some Cragars on it , headers and thrush mufflers. Or flo masters. 👍🏻
The one I had was badass with a built 289.
Back in the 80's had a chance to buy a similar car it had a 289 was black with a red interior and belonged to a little old lady. It wasn't this special edition, but it was pristine shape and was only asking $500 for it. That was a lot of money to me at the time and I passed one of my many regrets. This is a sweet car you have.
Ford smallblocks are the best sounding cars ever.
Beautiful.. I love that color
Great combination here. Add a 5-speed trans, anti-roll bars and rear discs and you have an apex hot rod. OK, maybe GT40 heads...
I absolutely LOVE this K code supercharged Ford! 👍Please check out my 1968 Barracuda fastback powered by a rowdy 512 stroker backed by an A833 4 speed manual. I think you'll approve. 👌
This thing is SO sweet and important. VERY cool, which I had the money for ya :)
Straight to the "Best of..." list of the channel. Incredible car. I also like the new surroundings where you filming. 10 out of 10!
Adjust the valve clearance. 😲
Hello! What's your asking price? Thanks.
$65,000
Is it for sale? Does it have a 9" rear axle?
Sold

Oh hell yes. Sounds mean as hell. I got stopped 5 times in 2 months. I outran them a couple times. Actually out smarted them. lol 😂
The k in this vin does not mean a factory HiPo motor. The vin just had a k in it. The factory engine is not a 289 HiPo engine like the mustangs had.
Just goes to show what you don't know. This 289 K code is the same engine used LATER in the Mustang minus the Supercharger. Do your research before you comment. GEEZ!!!
WRONG.
Wrong
Wrong.
All 289s were hipo in 63,,and only in Fairlane & Comet..
