Insanity, I wonder how he’ll develop over the next few years, will he grow into his body and figure out a lightning quick start? Or will he be more like Noah Lyles where his top end speed endurance remains his biggest asset?
this young fella is gonna be another Letsilie Tebogo at the very least with his versatility from 100m all the way upto 400m, cant wait to see him run again
Whats amazing he didn't even need to rest after the race. In fact he started to used up more energy to celebrate. whilst in the background all the other runners are exhausted and resting.
@ he’s breaking Usain Bolt Junior records. I would say it’s at least within the conversation he could continue breaking records given that specific evidence. Or you can cry about it and say zero Olympic knowledge. Up to you, bro have a good day.
Lol too early to tell. The chance is like 10 percent. He still need to go sub 10 and make sure he does not suffer any injury. Btw look at chung hyeon tennis player. Lots of potential but never reach top. Nick kygrios lots of talent when starting beat top 4 but never reach big 5 .
Pity his father has attempted to correct everyone - it's not "Gout Gout", but "Guot Guot". Apparently the Sudanese embassy mucked it up on emmigration. His father is a bit upset that we think his son has the same name as a medical condition.
Looks very much like Matt Boland in the USA. Boland won the USA U17 400m before breaking the record in the 100m AND 200M THE FOLLOWING YEAR. Boland for his school won the 100m, 200m , long Jump (8m) anchored the 4*100 and backed up at the end with and incredible 44.6 in the 4*400. Looks like the same story. Training for the 400m does not slow you down. Take note old school sprint coaches,
Does he have the chance to do another 400 before the New Year? He'll no longer be Under 18 in 2025 so it would be a good chance to run a flat out 400 & crack the 47 second barrier! He could clearly go 46s mid to high. I hope he does 🏃♂️ 👍
In school I tried the 400 for the first time having run second in the 100 and 200... My coach said try the 400... I had never run 400 in my life and said no but he said go out and run 2 x 200s 😂... He said blast the first 200 and then coast.... So I had nothing to lose so I did what he had said... I blasted the first 200... I was so far in front I think the other guys gave up.... But I wasn't tired so I carried on 😂.... I eventually ran a 49:07😮....it was crazy... I never thought I could even make 400.... But from then on I stuck to the 400. Won various trophies etc But I slacked off when I hit college.... Dunno what it was but never run again. Sometimes I think the euphoria of realizing you doing something you thought you could never do gives you that extra energy... To keep going.
If he can keep his head down, stay humble, keep working hard and stay injury free, then there is no reason this young man can’t break all the sprinting records, as much as 9.58 sounds impossible to beat, but this young man might just do it. I’m sure he will become a household name world wide. Keep working son, and keep your feet on the ground. You’ll go far young man
Not yet official because he first needs to apply to have it changed. Even though the paperwork was messed up at the Sudanese end when his family came to Australia, you'd think it would have been fixed when he was born to ensure his birth certificate accurately reflected his real name. For the time being he will remain Gout Gout, so they have it correct.
@@gustaaf1892 yeah they are trying it's stupid how so many people can screw up the poor fellas name even the government! I probably came off a bit harsh now I read my comment it was taking the piss though

I didn't like the way the second place guy switched off. IMO he should have ran to the line. He couldn't have won, but he could have got a great time, which he could have measured his progress against in the future. 1996 silver medalist in the 400m, Roger Black wasn't the finished article at 16 - so there's always a chance.
I hate it when athletes slack off towards the end. It doesn't that much energy to just push through till the end especially like in Gout Gout's case where he broke the record. If he push through till the end he would have made his record much harder to break for the next 16yo .... years from now.
my pet hate is people who write 'till' as the contraction of the word 'until'. it doesn't take much energy to use the brain to think about what is being written. why on earth do people add an 'l' when they are trying to reduce the number of characters used?..especially when 'till' already is a word..

His name is actually supposed to be Guot, but it was a mix up from the Sudanese government or something.

About time they produced someone who's actually likeable.
Also Shane Watson
Yeah, Ipswich produced Pauline.....and now to make up for it, Guot Guot
Ash Barty former World nr 1 and multiple grand slam champion also from Ipswich.
Would have been good to see him run it out hard to see what time he could have run. I think the 400m is part of his future.
He could be the first triple crown holder (gold in 100, 200 and 400)

300m Gout Gout vs Q Wilson?
Gout Gout vs Quincy Wilson would be hype
In 70s lactic acid refused to let my legs move after 350m only managed sub 49s all my track career
I think adding in reps while in the lactic acid stage is a good way to improve. I also only managed to run sub 49 three times in high school.
@jhoncena1111 yes my coach called it oxygen debt training just meant run through pain
Fresh legs, all out and still wind he can def go 45 high

After the race the news networks asked gout how he felt after winning the race.
Gout then said, i was just jogging, was there a race today?😂
He seems to have all the attributes including the after race aggressive posturing and pouting.
Yes including the classic shut down and jog across the line so everyone will always wonder how fast they could have run.
His next step is to the USA and many more sprinters near his best times to push him to greatness
Honest advise, Gout. Do not let people tell you that you will be even close to Bolt, in an Olympic final, train your way there.
