    Summer was approaching, so lots of plants out again Lyn! What a vast variety of Opuntia Cactus plants there is...beautiful! Love the curly one, so cute! You really did a great job with such a display...they look wonderful! Have a wonderful evening Lyn and Hans! Sending you both lots of love from Malta!

      haha the Prickly Pear Cacti are the ones I dread to touch when re arranging, as their tiny spined glochids stick to the skin just by looking at them haha :-D but it was so wonderful to get tidying them up and re arranging them, thanks so much Sylvia for your wonderful comments and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Malta for a wonderful afternoon XXXX

    Lynnie!!! Although I've seen your cacti and succulent collection many times before, seeing them all together now redefines the magnitude of the collection, which is phenomenal!!! Absolutely gob smacked!! I'm so happy for you! Everything looks well displayed too. Thank you for stating the names of the opuntias, I sure learnt some names from the video. Massive thumbs up! Keep it up Lynnie!!! From the garden city of India to the Emerald Isle, have smashing days in your poly tunnel with your incredible plant family! Cheers.

    I remember growing up as a kid and an neighbor had a opuntia cactus out in the yard. I remember really being captivated by it. That was 18 years ago. I recently went back to the location to recieve a pad. Unfortunately it was gone, you couldn't even tell it grew there at all. House was also abandoned. Very eerie feeling. Strange.

    • @desertplantsofavalon
      @desertplantsofavalon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jamie :-D yes I have had quite a few flower and produce fruit in the past, I have managed to grow some of them from seed from the fruits, Opuntia are not the easiest to get to flower in cultivation compared to other types of cactus like Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium and Mammillaria, but when they flower the flowers are stunning, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend XXXX

    Hi Lyn! I have 3 opuntia humifusa compressa and all of them are wery shrively and don’t seem to absorb water. Yours looked like that too so is it normal? ( they where not like that before the winter) Is it true that they can take -25 to -45˚C?
