I've lived in the middle of nowhere. The snow does not illuminate in the nighttime. All you have, for a light source, is the moon. So, you can't see anything ahead of you in that type of darkness.

That’s not true. I live in northern Canada, so lots of experience with snow. I also happen to live in the middle of nowhere. Snow can reflect or glow with moonlight, like it does during the day with the sun. On nights with the full moon, it’s quite bright out, enough to see quite far without a light.
I live in the bush in northern rural Canada. The snow reflects the snow quite well and it’s pretty light out with the full moon. I’m able to see quite far on full moon nights or nights when the moon is mostly full. However, if you’re under complete coverage by trees that block out moonlight, it can be pretty dark.

Where I live, If there is no moonlight, I can walk 1 minute down my street and I can't see my hand in front of my own dang face.

Being able to see at night (no matter what climate you’re in) is determined by the light of the moon. So is it a clear night? Or a cloudy one? I was stationed in the Army in Colorado and snow or not means nothing if there’s no above light to bounce off the snow. So moral of the story cousins, being able to see at night is about the clouds 😆
not sure if this story is true or not, but I feel like even with true stories if you try to look for holes or things that don't connect then you'll still find them. I've definitely stumbled over myself while telling a true story when grilled for information and had others dismiss it because it seemed hard to believe when I was younger. As for the creature, it could honestly be a human with certain gaps being filled in or parts exaggerated by the person's psyche. Similar to how in the dark certain shapes will look like people or creatures and send out minds into a panic, especially if we're already frightened.

I'm in Arkansas and I'm out in the woods a bit so if the moon is out of sight it's black you don't see the ground

So I travel woods a lot and if i saw random footprints. Nope I've seen this movie. No thank you. Also something similar happened to me when I was camping. Except I got woken up by said creature. I fell asleep by the fire and I wake up to a being flipped over like the exorcist. It told me to go back inside the cabin. I thought I was hallucinating until I saw track marks that didn't make sense the next morning. Welcome to the world of cryptids and creatures that lurk in the dark.

it's dark in The night (almost whole Day) in Finland when it's vinter and it's lot of snow.. I live in forest so it's Even More dark, but moons lights does show little from The snow.. But becouse i am in The forest The lights dosen't get here much, becouse of The trees

I've seen and heard of plenty of nice pit bulls so I don't see how all of them were bred to "kill" I'm not saying that there aren't any but to say all of them are like that is crazy

These stories on the surface level seem like they could be made up. But I have heard thousands of these types of stories now, many told by the actual person who experienced them, and either we've got an enormous number of people who are masterful storytellers or there are things in our world that we just can't comprehend. It's hard to disregard what science and physical evidence tells us, nor should we, but there are lots of people out there who I believe completely that they believe what they think they experienced. Some are BS for sure, some people are just off their rockers, but many of these folks sound like they are sane and upstanding people, coming from all walks of like. It does make you think. I do think there are creatures out there and I've heard lots of theories as to why we don't have evidence, like there may be a paranormal aspect to them. All that said, and as freaky as these encounters are, give me a creepy forest creature over a creepy human in the forest any day. If these things exist, they seem like they just don't want people in their territory and try to spook people enough to get them to leave.
I would've a least grabbed a knife and i would never be in the woods alone without a gun

Darkness in the woods on a snow depends on the moons. However much light it gives off. If it’s a full moon and clear it’s like dusk all night. If it’s pitch black with over cast it’s dark. But a flashlight carries pretty well
Maybe the story is true , but like maybe it’s exaggerated. Like maybe he did hear some of knocking and saw some footprints . But I feel like that tall ass creature could have been made up . Cause with the creature it does make the story a bit scarier then just knocking and footprints (which is still creepy ) , where as making up story where ur dad is death literally does nothing . It doesn’t add an extra level of fear and it’s not gunna get more attention and views then if all that was true but his dad was still alive . I just don’t see a point in making that up
