Hi, I am Laura from the Netherlands. I really like your video’s. Especially because you don't come across as some all-knowing knitting guru. It feels like we're learning together.
Your mom’s LL Bean cardigan is hilarious. I didn’t and won’t knit this cardigan either because I have a cardigan I thrifted years ago that is practically the EXACT same pattern. Including the set in pockets. Even my husband looked at pictures of the book club cardigan and questioned I’d knit it when I have one that’s exactly the same. 😅
Just stumbled across your channel and I'm glad I did! I'm from Alberta, Canada 👋🏾🇨🇦 I totally get what you mean about rhe moss stitch on the drop shoulder. I'm knitting the dagmar Jacket and I modified the construction to a saddle shoulder for the same reason. Those mittens look amazing! I'm obsessed with colourwork mits lately.
I’m Christie from San Diego.. I was in Utah last month, in Moab ..camping and hiking in the National Parks and knitting of course 😉 Enjoyed your podcast ❤
Just found your podcast, watching from Michigan, U.S.. I love the finishing you did for the button band -- definitely keeping that it mind for my next cardigan!
I am a Norwegian knitter/ purler too ❤ I also English or throw sometimes…. One example is if the whole row is purl then I will usually English purl as it’s faster, but when I need to alternate then Norwegian all the way and I think things like ribbing look better when I use Norwegian style… at least for me and my tension
LOVE visiting Moab, UT - one of my favorite places in the country. :) I'm knitting in NE Ohio. Just finished my book club cardigan while recovering from ankle surgery. I love the finished sweater, but also had some issues with the pattern. I used Nora Knits method of picking up the button band and it went ok, but a bit disappointed in so many issues with the pattern. Thankfully, I read about needing to make the sleeves larger before knitting it!
@@arizonacolbys Moab is stunning! I’m so sorry about your ankle! Yeah, it’s kinda interesting that such a popular designer has so many issues in her pattern, yet has such a devoted following among knitters.

Hi! I’m from an island in Washington. Except for maybe 3 months of the year it’s Sweater Weather here ( for me anyway). I wear my hand knit socks most of the year too. Loved your take on the Book Club Cardigan.
I also knit the book club cardigan this summer. It’s really crazy how many issues there were with the pattern! I had to rely on ravelry posts from other knitters to do a lot of things. It turned out well, but it was a labor of love… (I did an Italian cast off for the button band)
Also, there are other cable sweaters that are much more easier than the book club cardigan. I knit the dagmar jacket recently by Petiteknit and that was a lovely experience and only took me around 2 weeks to knit (vs 2 months with the book club one)
@@sofiabennett5212 I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggled through this cardigan, though I’m sorry you had a rough experience as well! I’m glad petite knit’s pattern was much better. I’ll definitely be more hesitant about sari’s patterns in the future.

I think kutovakika's tutorial for her darling cardigan has a kitchener stitch at the finishing of the double knit button band. Greetings from Greece !!!
Funny, I just finished a double knitted button band with Starcrossed Knits' tutorial, but I never bothered to look up the end. I just assumed it would say to use the kitchener stitch, because to me that is the most logical way to cast anything double knitted off. So it's absolutely not strange that you did the same (and I agree, I'm a bit surprised both Sari Nordlund and Starcrossed Knits didn't think of it). Anyway, I'm watching from The Netherlands, hi!

I don’t know if I would have thought of it on my own. As for knitting inspiration… I think cabled cardigans are all very similar, motifs wise. In any case, most American brands are not present in Europe (I didn’t know the one you mentioned) so I don’t think she copied the one you mentioned. But I could be wrong!
