I love, how Elie doesn't want Lloyd to become more of a charmer than he already is.
I wish Falcom would've been more decisive with the plot in that regard in Crossbell series and give Lloyd a permanent love interest.

Nah. Let the fan do that. It's a video game not a movie. Let the player imagination run wild. Let them choose how to tackle the game and create fanfic story and lore in addition to the original lore. Same goes for Ys, Pokemon, Final Fantasy and any ROLE Playing Games. If everything were mold in concrete, fanfiction wouldn't be that strong.

@@dycu not in a game series like Trails.
The whole series plot is too long and too complicated for this, you eiather commit to the some "canon" desicions, or you make bad games like CS3 and 4, where despite the grim ending of the 3 they was too afraid to commit and kill off a bunch of characters, and then they was magically bring back into the plot in 4 with VERY minor consequences.
Same with the romance, make something canon, if not in the same game, do it in the next one, like tell us in CS4 or Reverie that Elie and Lloyd are together, you literally set it up during Zero and Azure, and now you are afraid to commit to make a desicion. Perhaps, not Elie and Lloyd then, Rixia and Lloyd, ok, but do it. The lack of commitement on the part of the devs is so frustrating. The only canon couple we've got so far is Estelle and Joshua, wtf.

​@@ivansolodyankin6820I'm pretty sure Falcom were decisive on making an INTERACTIVE GAME for a wider audience who have their own Waifu taste. Plus those choices you make in games are called flavour text.
P.S. All fiction has flaws like real life. It's up to us to tackle it however we like.

In my opinion, stuff like this is the what the Erebonia arc (especially CS4) was sorely lacking in. You didn't just choose a character to do this story event with Lloyd. The following scenes are tailor-made for each chosen character as well. Everything from Lloyd's reason for choosing a particular character, to the type of relationship and role the characters would play, and even how the other characters respond to the scene. They're all unique and very natural; just looking at one of the scenes in a vacuum, you wouldn't think it was a scene where the partner was optional.
by comparison, Cold Steel used mostly what I call "copy and paste" option scenes: you have the same scene but just replace the character sprite. dialogue between Rean and the chosen character might differ, but there's no one else in the scene talking. or if they are, it's just a bunch of generic one-liners. It got worse as Cold Steel introduced more characters (and thus more combinations of possible chosen characters) to the point, by CS4, Rean was basically monologuing most of the time.

nicely said. love Rean but man, erebonia arc really needs treat their love interest better. not that the writing is bad, but I can tell the connection between rean and them are lacking

I think the problem was at least partially due to the sheer size difference between the two casts. Zero/Azure could get away with this due to having a relatively small cast, while the Cold Steel games had too many characters to give attention to.

There was absolutely no need for the Cold Steel arc to have that large a cast of playable characters. let alone that many additional guest party members. it lead to less meaningful character interactions. which lead to lower quality handling of cutscenes and romantic options

@@x3mskbord Pretty much, yeah. Worst part is how Cold Steel III seemingly tried to fix the issue by limiting the main cast to just 6, only to bring back all the old main characters anyway and make the problem worse.

Tio and Elie getting into dressing them up at 1:40 was hilarious though.

Honestly, it's a toss up between Elie and Randy for me, with Tio being the least appealing choice due to their story involvement, or lack thereof. On the one hand, Elie's role here makes sense, as Mariabell's sudden appearance and cover-up during the operation fits best with Elie, knowing how much Bell cares for her and the lengths she'd go to help Elie out. But, on the other hand, a lot of the final moments of Chapter 3 revolve around Randy's character; more specifically, some light is shed on his backstory after the SSS's struggle against Garcia, which implies to me that bringing Randy along for the operation would fit more in line with the narrative cues, all things considered.

Tio could draw to much attention due to being a young girl were one is unexpected as I am sure most guests would not have been aware of Renne and Randys hair color has already proven itself to be something Garcia recognizes so having him come along while Garcia is Sure to be on high alert is just asking for trouble. Sure Elie also runs the risk of being recognized but she is also the only one who could claim plausible deniability as she has the social standing to justify her presence at the auction and as such could potentially talk her way out of Things in an emergency

I love the fact that everyone knows Llyod is a natural rizzler except for Lloyed himself.
My only gripe with this and CS is that romantic interest are not carried over into later games, sure you get the choice to start a romantic relationship but come next game it's gone, biggest example is we CS2, come CS3 romance is reset and Llyod's was completely ignored. Come reveire and it's the same thing, just that Llyod never made a choice in Azure and everyone still chasing him.
