😮 I’m always amazed at your fathers capabilities whilst following you in his almost stock vehicle on 32” Tyres 😮 minus a few winch recoveries he seems to make dam good Progress!!!
Garry is a secret weapon, just a basic lift, tyres, rear locker and some barwork and he takes it just about everywhere. It probably helps that he's a little more level headed than Tyler, too, and knows when to call it quits 🤣
Those guys work real hard at making everything look twice as hard as it is. They have to have shock value in their videos. Then again, Shaun doesn't have a GQ or a MUX, so it will be much harder for him. When he has to try and match a GQ he breaks diffs and things.
I enjoy watching the GU take on these tracks but as built to the hilt as it is you expect it to have no real drama. What really impresses me is dad's MUX, very capable for what it is. It's all a great watch!
I always love watching the videos with your old man in it, gives every thing a crack in a every man 4x4 set up, shows you don’t need nothing crazy to get out there. Thanks for the video mate
That MUX is proof that you don't need massive tyres and a 10 inch lift. driver experience is the most important factor. Your old man is a legend Tyler. Another amazing vid.
One of yr best work...top footage and action...dad's hangin in there with the mux....and having a fish....top views and camp spot...The Sherman's going well........
So good to see your dad and the mux tackling the tracks. This is my favorite part as the uix and your white nav are the most relatable cars for me. I love seeing that they can get it done and I don't need a big rig to explore. Big rigs are cool though. Another good vid mate
Great vid mate ive riden that track loads of times ,every year it gets worse and more fun about 2 hrs down on the two wheeler ,stunning bit of coast aye goodonya cobba travel safe cheers
Back in the 70s, you use to be able to drive an HQ Holden along climes track it was the main road between Zeehan and Granville before they put in the bitumen road that's there today. Trial Harbour has some good tracks around it, but the quicksand down near the Little Henty will catch you out quick if you're not alert. Do these tracks in the middle of winter so much more harder and fun.
That's interesting. You wouldn't think so now. Seems to me Tasmanias idea of 4x4 is to just leave tracks unmaintained... which without big lifts and tractor tires is making them useless. Parts of climies is a real mess with all the bypass tracks going everywhere. I notice they have fenced some of these off on the Cumberland track.
Hi Tyler, in your opening you said “years of neglect” but that neglect is from four wheel drivers who struggle with traction and technical ability, so they dig out some sections of the track and make them so challenging and ruining it for others. I have been following you from the beginning with the black nav and you then seemed a very humble guy and were about respect for tracks, so if you couldn’t drive it after a couple of attempts, you would just winch. These days it seems you have a point to prove and rather than just winch you start valve bouncing the engine and spinning the crap out of the track, that is not technical driving and doesn’t teach people how to respect the tracks. Remember you are a role model now and if we all flog our vehicles on these tracks then they will be closed down to all. In saying that I enjoy your trips and the evolution of your vehicles and family over the years, cheers.
Respect for tracks.. lol! Personally, I think only an idiot takes a car like an Isuzu on climies. The track is so chewed out that for any normal 4x4 it really becomes an exercise in minimizing car damage... Tracks like this are a fun challenge for big rigs. Spinning wheels and grinding up huge steps is what they are built for, so let them do it. The real issue is Tyler has moved away from your average bloke in a 4x4, but if that's what he likes, then good for him.
To see the growth you guys have had over time you’ve had the channel is phenomenal 👌Can’t wait to get out there and start enjoying the Explore Life more this year. Yeww
All that bar work has paid off already on this trip, ya dad needs a front locker, higher tyres and barwork and that little rig will be a formidable weapon
The MUX, is such a great vehicle. Watching it do Climies track especially that infamous section... Awesome, well done. The GQs are on another level. Great vid Tyler.
Be cool to do a little vid on the battle scars on dads car . He’s been on so many adventures with you, bumping, scratching, scraping, doing most of the tracks with half the ground clearance 🤠
I guessing other people not saying names made it look a lot harder just for the extra views lol or maybe it was more a Toyota issue. But the mux and patrols make it look super easy.
3:00 I did the exact same thing but in the opposite direction in my grand Vitara 😅. 2" lift on 245/75/16(30.5") and it stopped on the belly. Took only the slightest effort to make it move too. 🤣
In Shawn's defence, the initial line Jesse guided him into was wrong, from there it was all downhill so to speak. Pete in his GU covered this accent without issue.
What a capable rig you've built it's better than a bought 1, what experiences for Kye as a kid like him I was fortunate enough to have travelled and had experiences no schooling could've ever taught me, now that you've turbocharged GQ any chance you'll do the GU

Cheers mate! On road the GU is just as nice/comfy to drive on-road, quite inside and nice air con etc. GQ is much more of a tractor haha, but it's also more exciting/fun to drive as a daily too. Off-road they are both way better and fun then the Nav, GQ is the most capable of the Patrols
@TylerThompson90 Figured the GQ might be a tractor... But cool its fun on road too. Thanks for letting me know. As I'm thinking of a swap from my dual cab too. Probably leaning towards a GU for the on road touring comfort, for the tin lid and missus.

@@MrFastFarmer Your experience does not make a 100% hard and fast rule.
