Lmfao you guys drive the same roads I drive for fun with my cars and I was just staring at this black ECLIPSE cross yesterday like wtf is this on my drive - white integra type s
I have a 2019 and it’s genuinely a great car. It does the job of transporting me around town, reliably. Is it fast, fun, or exciting…no. But it doesn’t need to be. This class is about getting Point A to B, regardless of weather.
Most of these people in here are trolls , you have to realize this, some of them are talking about twin turbo v6 cars as if anyone buys those vehicles. The guys reviewing the eclispe cross are talking about the cvt transmission and its not fast. Do some quick search on Google The Chevy trax with 137hp and a 3 cylinder engine takes 8.8 seconds to 100 , meanwhile the eclipse cross takes 8.76 seconds So they sit in a car and judge speed based on how they feel on a particular day. Crossovers are not meant to be race cars , some of them are hung up on the name eclipse , you would swear any of them actually owned one. Let's just ignore the first gen eclipse being naturally aspirated making 92hp
@@warcrabcyber9908 personally if they called it the North American Pejero it would have been fine. I think a ton of people have this association with the eclipse being that race car from the movies in the early 2000s. Brands are all naming these crossovers to bleed into the good will and name recognition of the old models of these cars. Generally a lot of review channels have this approach. With the eclipse cross, the biggest issue is the gas mileage. It is poor for what it is. That much more of an important review point then the actual power and race car experience, which it will never succeed in providing.
@tahatariq7681 some people just make an issue out of nothing as I said most of them complaining never owned any high performance Mitsubishi vehicle eclispe neither evo. Any ways here is some mpg data Mpg 30% city 70% highway Fuel economy test channel Eclipse cross awd - 25mpg 2024 Hyundai kona n line - 26mpg 2022 rav 4 non hybrid - 25.4mpg 2020 crv - 25.8mpg 2023 crv - 31mpg 2024 hyundai Santa fe - 21mpg 2024 Buick envista - 30mpg 2024 Chevy trax - 30mpg 2023 mazda cx50 - 28mpg 2022 cx30 awd - 27.8mpg 2022 mazda cx5 2.5 turbo - 22.6mpg 2022 corolla cross - 30mpg 2022 kia Sorento- 23mpg 2022 nissan rogue awd 2.5 engine - 25mpg 2022 kia seltos - 27.5mpg Note not all these are awd , the eclipse Fuel economy cross is average but again the 2024 model has awd , the 2wd version would get better gas milage
@tahatariq7681 the gas milage for the eclipse cross awd is 25mpg , the 2wd version gets 26mpg city and 28mpg on the highway. The eclipse cross also has an eco mode which no one bothers to use. The mazda cx5 turbo gets 22mpg mixed driving city and highway, that is pretty bad. In this video they recommend to get a cx5 over the eclipse cross , if you go with the turbo cx5 you get worse gas milage than the cross , if you go with the naturally aspirated 2.5 cx5 it's a little slower than the eclipse cross. The crossovers with best gas milage at the moment are 2024 Chevy trax it gets 30mpg but it's a 3 cylinder from Chevy 2024 Buick envista- 30mpg also a 3 cylinder engine 2024 crv gets 31mpg Even the rav 4 gets 26mpg with a mix of city and highway driving
@@warcrabcyber9908 As an eco mode user, gas mileage is still awful. Regardless, this class of vehicle isn’t great on gas or power to be fair. The CRV is likely my favourite pic because of the size and gas mileage.
As someone who had to get a 2021 Mirage hatchback, I might upgrade to this; I've had a really great time saving on gas but i need space now. On the warranty, i unintentionally voided my warranty because i didn't do a transmission flush at 30k miles...always look at your maintenance book in the glove box -.-

I owned a 2006 mitsu lancer for 18 years. In 2024, i bought a 2024 eclipse cross LE, black on black. Im am 100% happy with my suv. Its zippy when i want it to be cuz the turbo, i bluetooth my music from my phone so im not worried about carplay, 25 mpgs, it looks good, drives good, i got good 2nd row seating for the kids, a 6 year warranty. I also really like the dashboard and the material, its like a highly textured rubber material. And these guys are talking about a cvt tranny, when almost all car manufacturers are using cvts in their cars now. So dont drive like an idiot, and if u have to push it, give the trans fluid about 15 minutes of driving for the fluid to be as viscous as possible. And if ur looking for lane centering, maybe pay attention to driving not ur phone. Yes theres alot of piano black plastic, it shows dust easy, but ive always washed my car once a week. And alot of cars nowadays have piano black plastic in the cabin. And i hear absolutely no whistle from the turbo. If ur not looking to buy a toyota, honda or mazda, then id give this a chance, better warranty, most dealerships have an option for 7 year financing to help keep payments lower. And its an overall good vehicle.

50 years ago, Hyundai learned how to make cars from Mitsubishi but now... 😰 We can't guess what will happen in the future, even near future like in just next decade.
Mitsubishi haven't made cars for decades, they take other manufacturer stuff and try to cobble together something that resembles a car and sell it for the same price. Why people buy it, who knows.

To correct them, The coolest eclipse was, and always will be both the 2G GS-T and GSX. I had a 98' GS-T as my first car in high school. I let that thing go with 170k miles for $1700. Regret it every single day.
I'm with Team Yuri! Mitsubishi isn't that bad. I had a car crap out on me seven years ago and I needed something basic and affordable. I ended up with an Outlander Sport. Two things that often don't get mentioned about Mitsubishi are their safety and reliability. They tend to be better than average in both regards.... at least the Outlander Sport. Other than that, yeah, they're just okay.
I would say this car is comparable to the Pontiac Aztek in terms of shape and design. But the Aztek has more quirks and features (no Doug intended) but this car is nice for when you have a family and you need something cheap.
Wow so impressed..... If it were 2012 and I was shopping for a refrigerator and accidentally bought a mid-trim CR-V. This is crazy to be sold new right now
Out of its competitors, it’s the roomiest and you get more for what you’re paying for. Yes it makes 150 hp but it gets the job done and it’s made in Japan 😃.
I get it that Mitsubishi doesn’t make super expensive vehicles, however I feel like you can still make a serious review on them without pointing out everything negative and nothing positive. Kudos to Yuri for trying to redirect the review. Jakub doesn’t like anything ever
That's the problem with TH-cam car review channels. They expect everything to be 300 plus horsepower with the best infotainment and the best quality on a 30k car lol. They tend to forget they are reviewing your averages family hauler. They are too used to driving high end cars.
Back in the day, I purchased a new 91 manual trans eclipse gsx (black). Wished I had kept that over all the cars I've owned. Shifter issues were the only common problem for that generation.
For $26k, especially for a new car with a 10 yr warranty, that’s not too bad. I’ve liked the front designs of their SUVs, and I think this one looks good but wish they chose a different name for it. The “Eclipse” name, especially for older motorheads, will bring up the memories of the coupe; like how Ford named their EV sedan a Mustang.
Never been into Mitsubishi’s crossovers and SUV’s.. but they are literally still using the same fuel/coolant gauge screen as my 2013 Mitsubishi Evo X… if I remember correctly, that design came out in 2010.
I think redesigning this and changing the name might not help much. Since this was released in 2018 a number of subcompact crossovers have been introduced or updated. The Toyota Corolla Cross was introduced (and even has a hybrid which no other competitor has yet), the Honda HR-V, Subaru Crosstrek and Hyundai Kona were completely redesigned, the Kia Seltos was introduced and quickly updated, a new Nissan Kicks is coming, there's the Volkswagen Taos (it had a rough start, but it exists). They're going to have to do a lot more than redesign and changing the name to get people to even consider Mitsubishi.

Do some quick search on Google
The Chevy trax with 137hp and a 3 cylinder engine takes 8.8 seconds to 100 , meanwhile the eclipse cross takes 8.76 seconds
So they sit in a car and judge speed based on how they feel on a particular day.
Any ways here is some mpg data
Mpg 30% city 70% highway
Fuel economy test channel
Eclipse cross awd - 25mpg
2024 Hyundai kona n line - 26mpg
2022 rav 4 non hybrid - 25.4mpg
2020 crv - 25.8mpg
2023 crv - 31mpg
2024 hyundai Santa fe - 21mpg
2024 Buick envista - 30mpg
2024 Chevy trax - 30mpg
2023 mazda cx50 - 28mpg
2022 cx30 awd - 27.8mpg
2022 mazda cx5 2.5 turbo - 22.6mpg
2022 corolla cross - 30mpg
2022 kia Sorento- 23mpg
2022 nissan rogue awd 2.5 engine - 25mpg
2022 kia seltos - 27.5mpg
Note not all these are awd , the eclipse Fuel economy cross is average but again the 2024 model has awd , the 2wd version would get better gas milage
The crossovers with best gas milage at the moment are
2024 Chevy trax it gets 30mpg but it's a 3 cylinder from Chevy
2024 Buick envista- 30mpg also a 3 cylinder engine
2024 crv gets 31mpg
Even the rav 4 gets 26mpg with a mix of city and highway driving
@@warcrabcyber9908
As an eco mode user, gas mileage is still awful. Regardless, this class of vehicle isn’t great on gas or power to be fair.
The CRV is likely my favourite pic because of the size and gas mileage.
As the proud former owner of a 1998 Eclipse GS-T, this hurts my soul.
My man - Jakub
As someone who had to get a 2021 Mirage hatchback, I might upgrade to this; I've had a really great time saving on gas but i need space now.
On the warranty, i unintentionally voided my warranty because i didn't do a transmission flush at 30k miles...always look at your maintenance book in the glove box -.-
Mitsubishi makes transportation for people who hate vehicles nearly as much as they hate themselves
Mitsubishi makes vehicles for people who know nothing about cars and their credit is so bad they got rejected by nissan. Mitsubishi dealerships might as well be repo companies
My outlander phev out handles my stock Mazda 3
I'll say this. I'd never watch a video about the Eclipse Cross but because it's Yuri and because he's unhinged in this, I had to watch
I have had 5 Mitsubishis in a row. This un-sold me instantly. Thx for the honest review
I totally enjoyed this. I had the original Eclipse, so Mitsubishi forever lost me as a customer. But this video was fun.
Give this to wistilin diesel
I enjoyed the bickering!😂👌🏾
That’s basically Mitsubishi’s motto “there’s just better options”
*CMON' Mitsubishi , this is not an Eclipse*
Thank you bro I just purchased one & waiting for them to give it to me. I’m in panama so it’s a 3 week process but you just re assured me on my decision!
I miss when Mitsubishi made cool cars like the real Eclipse, Evo, and 3000gt.
And also the Montero and Pajero. Those were off road SUVs.
@@jonlosito2004 exactly!👍🏻 those were cool too!
@@jonlosito2004 they should have brought it back again, it would sell well instantly
Hey, remember that Mitsubishi commercial where the FD RX-7 "bowed" to the Eclipse as it drove by? Yea, I haven't forgotten it. This is what the Eclipse deserves 😂
3 mins in and this feels like a roast of Mitsubishi 😂😂
I rented one for these for a week and took it through the Scottish highlands, and inner/outer Hebrides. It was a very nice car but I agree it should have a different name.
Yuri doing the most 😂 Valiant effort my friend
That infotainment screen looks like an Etch a Sketch
I just bought one of these in Black Edition trim. Got a steal on it. Me and my wife love it. My previous Mitsubishi, a 2009 Galant I bought new, finally wore out .
Mitsubishi needs something to help revive them. They should do a high horsepower awd Eclipse Cross, especially since Subaru isn’t selling a Forester XT anymore.
@@chrisb9478 they need to bring back their 3000 GT in a V6 twin turbo form, bring back their Lancer GSR & EVOs and their VR-4s. Fire their CEO & designers.
They want to do the bare minimum and rather not put money into R&D .
@@somerandomfella Yeah bring back things that wont sell, thatll be a good strategy in this crossover hungry market
My Dad has a 2017 Forester Touring XT. We've had it for well over 6 years now. Almost 90k miles on it now!!
@@bobdole62846 100 percent what people don't understand. Sports cars don't sell anymore. Nothing like that sells. "Halo" cars don't have the same effect now that the internet is popular. Mitsubishi plans on refreshing their whole lineup in the next 4 years to modern standards, and honestly it's the best business move for them.
I do prefer Mitsubishi over the competition, I don’t know I just like the look of it, the history of Mitsubishi and it’s very reliable, I mean I don’t need crazy tech, for someone looking as a first car it’s great.
I almost want one. I think it would be cool to run one up to about 300k miles!
imagine spending 10+ years in this :(
@@TheDers52exactly
Ohh good luck with that... It's not like putting 300k to 500k miles on an old Toyota Matrix from like 2006.
the way the camera just shakes on the bass part in the video lmao.
Yea... Felt like it was on an old CRT monitor 😂😂
If you want horse power and torque get yourself a Hellcat or Trackhawk.
This car isn't designed to be a race car, its an easy to drive, economical everyday commuter.
My wife has one and absolutely loves it. Got everything she needs along with giving 7.5L/100km ❤👍
The Eclipse Cross' Mazda competitor is the CX-30. CX-5 is one size up.
Haters gunna hate, owned exceed model in Australia for 15 months and cannot fault it. Understand this is not a sports wagon, its a reliable safe vehicle that gets us to A B and C. Mitsubishi is very well supported and popular in Oz, all the negativity is laughable.
Folks love "different" if it's good, Mitsubishi could be that. Skipping the CVT would be a great start to separating themselves. Mitsubishi, apparently, only has the ability to be mediocre. It's a shame.
50 years ago, Hyundai learned how to make cars from Mitsubishi but now... 😰
We can't guess what will happen in the future, even near future like in just next decade.
Mitsubishi haven't made cars for decades, they take other manufacturer stuff and try to cobble together something that resembles a car and sell it for the same price. Why people buy it, who knows.
Mitsubishi really just made it's motor division to make money for their actual business (which is pretty much anything and everything) they are kinda the Hyundai of Japan (they make a lot of things)
Please elaborate.... @@UhOhUmm
@@blue_lancer_es Mitsubishi used to be on a Chrysler platform for years, not Japanese at all. Now they are on Renault/Nissan platform, also very little to do with Mitsubishi or Japan. They are using a dying brand name to move product instead of trying to create something.
@@UhOhUmm you have half a point. 70s. Dodge used mitsu cars.
80s. Same mitsu cars rebadged as dodges. Even dodge used some engines on their own cars.
90s. Yep... Same thing. Dsm was a joint venture. Were made in the US but most parts were from mitsu(not all)
2000s even thought DSM was no longer they still collaborated even partnering with hyundai to make the gema engine between the 3.
Anyway it's a long topic. Yes now mitsubishi is a nissan Renault entity. But 70s 80s 90s 2000s they were the ones supplying Chrysler, not the other way around.
Just a side note, the best standard stereo audio systems are in Nissans, Hondas, and Mitsubishis, in that order.

How times change? When I was a teenager, my friends and family had VR4 Galant, GSX Eclipse, VR4 3000GT, EVO, Montero Sport, and Diamante. They felt ahead of their time.
Wait, these are sold to the public? I thought they were only for rental fleet vehicles.
To correct them,
The coolest eclipse was, and always will be both the 2G GS-T and GSX.
I had a 98' GS-T as my first car in high school. I let that thing go with 170k miles for $1700. Regret it every single day.
Our Honda dealership used to sell Mitsubishi 14 years ago, but they stopped because customers were sooooooo disappointed. 19:00
I'm not sure what's worse, saying it looks like a 2012 Dodge Dart or 2024 Mirage.
Looks more like and old Acura ZDX coupe SUV from like 2010.
The Dart was good looking.
@@mark_u yea but the rest of the car was mediocre. It's only been sold from 2012 to 2017. It failed miserably.

the second generation eclipse from 1996 to 1999 is the best eclipse, kids. It is also the last year the GSX all wheel drive turbo was offered.
The Evo engine and AWD fits in the 2012 Eclipse. People have swapped the engines and AWD diff. EVO 10 can make 800hp on stock internals.
The perfect brand for sub prime lending.
When Yuri insists that "it doesn't look bad", you know he's reaching real deep.
Those brake rotors are TINY wow!!
I would say this car is comparable to the Pontiac Aztek in terms of shape and design. But the Aztek has more quirks and features (no Doug intended) but this car is nice for when you have a family and you need something cheap.
I feel like half of Mitsubishi’s yearly budget must have gone to Yuri’s bank account for being a salesman for them. Lol
I wish!! I need to pay off my mortgage and buy a Ferrari so if you hear me brag about that… you’ll know
I have never seen anyone under 65 driving this. Its a grandmas car and I hate it 😁
Wow so impressed.....
I said it’s not bad but other stuff is better lol
That's the problem with TH-cam car review channels. They expect everything to be 300 plus horsepower with the best infotainment and the best quality on a 30k car lol. They tend to forget they are reviewing your averages family hauler. They are too used to driving high end cars.
No we don’t forget. I compared it to every vehicle in its class that I liked more
@@TheStraightPipes Sure thing, pal.
I despise this vehicle.
Was given a Mitsubishi SUV as a rental and I've never been so underwhelmed in a vehicle before. Turned me off the brand for ever.
Ah yes the Eclipse Cross. If the Pontiac Aztek was still a thing today, it would EXACTLY like this.
At least the split tailgate was interesting. Would you take this over like a used Malibu though?
Had a good laugh, thanks guys! 😂
The countryman has had powerlift gate that has close and locked button for several years but not for lower trims is an option
As someone who owned 2 Eclipses, this thing is a disgrace...it makes me mad...hahaha
