Touristic places become touristic for a reason, what a view that was. Thanks for showing a beautiful place If not for your video,I would not have even dreamed about such places being in existence
I stayed in an Airbnb at the bottom of that tram. It rained just about the entire time we were in Bergen, but right when we checked into our Airbnb it was a dramatic fall sunset, so we thought now is the time to head up the mountain! It was peaceful up there just as it was in your video - what a great video to remind me of such a good time! Love Bergen!
Loved my time in Bergen. Beautiful city with a very relaxing atmosphere. I agree its a really livable lace. I also did the Norway in a nutshell up to Flam and would recommend it to all
Always love how real and well constructed your video's are! You 2 have also inspired us to start with TH-cam ourselves. I'm sure plenty of others are getting inspired by your video's. Keep going at it!❤
Garrr it's so annoying when you have just missed the train and have to wait! Nice video! 😀 We love taking all the different forms of transport we can wherever we go. So fun. 😀
I am travelling from Canada to Bergen from the end of September to mid October . Thank you for such an entertaining look at Bergen and its funicular . I will be watching your video , “First reaction to Bergen, Norway” next . Warm regards , Mary of Ontario, 🇨🇦
I've been to Hammerfest during the winter Olympics 94. Turi Star airport and hotel. Charming town with tv on everywhere watching the Olympics. Same gorgeous scenery you're seeing. A primitive church. Slept inside a snuggly slip into pouch for extra warmth. Crunched through snow. Silence....thanx for these memories! Beautiful.
We love getting those epic views and great tip about going after the day-trippers have gone. We found a similar phenomenon in Venice. It's amazing how the cities change in the evening! But, wow, that sunset was so beautiful that I almost cried! I can't imagine how incredible it was in person.
No visit to the Aquarium at Nordnes (also in Bergen), where I am from. You also did not taste Sisters Hagelin's world famous fish cakes, they are worth going back to taste :). Thanks for the visit and welcome back.
I did this same trip 14 months ago at the time of writing this. Is was so worth it. Kinda super cool to see the same places I visited. Im like Oh I know that place! I stayed at a hotel right down by that fish market you mentioned. Same street as the main water fountain. Visited a local mall and indoor water park while there
Not sure you guys chose the best path down, because I think if you had walked the forest path down (you go up the hill behind the souvenir/ice cream shop and follow that path down through the heavy forested area) you would have ended up recommending that hike down rather than taking the furnicular up and down. It's a really beautiful hike, and the sounds of the city falls away, plus you get alternate views of the city centre and Sandviken, so it's not just the same view the whole way down either. That is the way I introduce Fløyen to anyone who comes to visit and they've all been awed by that experience. As for the trolls, that's a Norwegian thing, not just a Bergen thing, lol. I recommend you guys check out the movie Troll hunter, it depicts the trolls very much like our many fairytales do.
That cat looked like a Norwegian Forest Cat which, from memory was used to breed the US Maine Coon. In the UK these would be termed monster moggies as our cats are a lot smaller :)
That is indeed true. And I am from Bergen, Norway. And on the top of Fløyen (where they are now). There is actually a huge ¨stray cat¨ that just made the top of the plateu his second home. as to have a home, but everyone who walks that mountain frequently sees him. A huge Norwegian Forest cat just chilling in the sun. Like not huge, but HUUUUUGE. Locally called the Fløyen Lion xD Cute as hell, nice and calm. *** Edit* Lool, didn't watch long enough. He doesn't look so big on camera, but if you hold him up he is easily like 50cm long. And at 10:11 you can actually see him.
You were lucky in your visit to Bergen, No rain! I love the city but mostly there is reain there. I have never been up to Flöen without rain! I hope you liked Scandinavian.
I absolutely recommend hiking up or down when taking the funicular. The funicular ride itself is worth the ticket money, but the hike has some spectacular views. If you go down "Tippetue" (follow the signs or ask for directions) you'll find yourself descending a twisting old road through some slightly spooky woods, again with some great views. It's slightly longer, but it's a great experience. Also, of course, there are some great hiking routes into the mountains from Fløyen. On Sundays the "Brushytten" (litterally "Soda Cabin") is open, and it's only less than 2km from the funicular station. If you visit during wintertime and there's snow, it's also big fun to ride a tobogan down the hills from Fløyen :) . I recommend wearing a helmet, though :P .
If you ever want to go camping in Norway, you can camp more or less wherever you want as long as you are a certain distance from a house, for up to three days. Its called allemannsrett. And in regards to Floibanen its a nice walk down , nice walkingroads. We often go up with our tiny Yorkie instead of using the pram. The place with the "sheepers", is a nature kindergarten. Kids go there everday to play/"study" outdoors. www.visitnorway.com/plan-your-trip/travel-tips-a-z/right-of-access/
Wouldn't want to leave that view either. And I guess the sun didn't fully tuck in for the night. But I don't mind it having insomnia :) Stunning. Ash caught between a rock and a hard...place @12:00? LOL
The weather is always changing in Norway. Therefore I will recommend www.yr.no for the weather forecast in Norway. On the top right you can change language, to English. And find your location in Norway.
Hello you lovely couple. I'm new to your channel and absolutely love your videos . I've got loads to watch I have started at the beginning and watching every day . Big hi from Andrea in the UK 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Hum, given that you guys are into old wooden houses. What about giving the Faero islands a try? If you go there do so at Olsok. As for nature. Norway and Iceland are probably some of the highlights there.
Yep, I told you, best thing to do in Bergen . Main Harbour on your hand at 4.04 used to be so 'local' in the 90s ,. seem tourists blown into Bergen. Try it again in Mid winter !!! Haha. Disagree , the view from O Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) at the top of Corcovado mountain in Tijuca National Park beats Bergen.
can't imagine having a wooden house in a country that rains so much. I'd have to have vinyl siding. From a distance, you can't tell the difference anyway.
Hey guys.... are you guys still in Bergen? You must try stoltzekleiven ( 1000 steps) and the view is amazing. The hike should take 20-40 mins depending upon the fitness level. I would love to connect (y). All the best with the further travel.

Hi Guys.I fell in love with Bergen from the first day of my stay in 2013. My love continues uninterrupted until 2019 (today). It will be difficult for a divorce with Bergen. I am glad that you have also fallen in love with Bergen. Hilsen Vade World btw great videos
Go to the real city in the mountains: Innsbruck, Austria. You can take the gondola from the city center and go up to the top of the mountain at 2300m! From there you can have a beautiful view of the city and all the mountaintops around you.
Hello guys! This is amazing and also reminds me of furnicular to the Mt Rigi that is in Wengen/Lucerne in Swiss! Maybe you might have seen it, if not u shud try it too!!

Next time you should also give the sausage shop Trekroneren a visit! Remember to ask for a glass of "saft", it's free 😊
I have a friend in Oslo. I am studying Norwegian. It is pretty easy to learn. Your videos just came up. You two are so cute. Stay happy. Tusen takk

Oh, you have to go to Lookout Mountain and Ruby Falls in Chattanooga TN if you liked this furnicular day.
she's so smiling
Gnats (In Norwegian: knott) and mosquitoes come out during the evening. So when the sun's up it's quite nice.
I live in Bergen, Norway and my work place is 2 minutes walk from this site. Thank you for promoting our beautiful town!

We do this rock stacking in Canada as well. It is common to see it along the highway. The Inuit call them inukshuk. Some call it Canadian graffiti. 😊
For us it comes from the tradition of marking trails.
Ashley you have the most beautiful smile.😊 Missed you by a couple of weeks xx
Spectacular views and sunset, thanks guys. Ashley very funny with the sheep and rocks.

You guys are so much fun to watch.. i love Norway, so beautiful. Any plans of going to Ålesund?
Been there done that ...beautiful city views
Brasov in Romania, even closer to the mountain I think
It's like 1 hour up in slow pace. And 45 down. But could easily be 30 min up and 20 down. Depends on route choice and physique.
can't imagine having a wooden house in a country that rains so much. I'd have to have vinyl siding. From a distance, you can't tell the difference anyway.
I guess that near 100% of private houses in Norway have wooden walls on the outside. It is a proven standarized solution.

DNT makes big ones, so you know where to to.
