I’m 61 and a guitar player (50 yrs) - I found her early on Carter Vintage Guitar sessions. Go back and watch her purely acoustic solos - they are truly amazing!

I found Katie through BJ of American Aquarium. Saw her live in Seattle at a smaller club. It was a truly affecting night. And, don’t be fooled by this beautiful acoustic song, Katie freakin’ shreds.

I discovered this young lady same as you, from the our favorite guitar teach. Damn, I have never, never ever had another artist sing and play with such emotion!! Hoy Cow! I'm 57 yrs old and I'm unable to listen to this( you know listen without distractions) without it bringing out tears in my eyes. She is so powerful, so rare, so true. I hope she stays as she is and not who she might become under a record label.

I saw Katie on CBS morning show today. I was traveling from Florida to Connecticut, with a stop in Shenandoah West Virginia, at one of those Roadside hotels. After seeing Katie, I found her on Spotify and listen to her a lot of all the way from West Virginia to Connecticut for the eight hours drive. She is amazing

I found her through Michael as well!! My son is her age, and he is gay as well, which has never mattered to me as I have known that he was since he was little. This song, and her song "Normal" has helped me to understand what they have both personally gone through in their struggle to be normal. Check that one out also if you haven't yet!!

I discovered Katie about 12 months ago on planet Rock. The track was Expectations. Fell in love with her voice. Bought the lp and now have Mantras which is even better. Her writing is so heartfelt. WELL DONE KATIE... seeing you in London in August, can't wait

I think we are in a new "Golden Age" of singer song writers / performers at the moment. There are so many young, talented artists coming onto the music scene who are finding their own footing with a new approach to song construction instead of the standard 'formular song' we have all heard so many times before. "Georgia" is Katie's recanting of her chat with God in church as a young girl confessing her sexuality and foreshadowing the rift it was going to create with her own family when she finally came out to them. Lifes hard enough without having to live up to everyone else's expectations.

She's good - and it's a powerful song, and I love the understated string arrangement (nice to see a viola getting some attention) but she really needs to get some good vocal coaching. Her voice has a naturally pleasing timbre, but if she carries on using that much fry without learning to open her throat and mouth with less tension, she'll ruin her voice within a few years, and for an obviously talented singer/songwriter, that would be tragic.
I'd watch another one if you covered it . . .

The strength is in the MELODY and the VOCAL ..... then the building of string instruments and finally the not as welcomed lyrical content and blame game angle - surely plays it's part in reasoning of the cry of personal repression for sexual orientation .... just misses for me though understood as a vehicle for the message in this beautiful song. Gets an A+ for me. jj

She is SO talented, yet SO delusional at the same time. There are literally millions of folks like her. Lots of talent but so misguided. She has set up her homosexual desire as the one to follow at all costs. One lesson she'll learn is that you NEVER, under any circumstances, do that. Little does she know it will cost her SO much in the end. We all have proclivities that ought not be encouraged and set up as supreme.
