Technically, this defense is called the "Dempsey Roll," whom Tyson adopted this move from. Tyson, however perfected it so it appears to have come from him but historically it came from Dempsey. Dempsey was one of the boxer's that Tyson enjoyed studying, and Cus was such a boxing professor that you were going to get a myriad of boxers and their techniques to study to have in your arsenal.

I've practiced martial arts for a while, but only ever by myself. I could get the movements down and do nice flows and technique, that is, until I started sparring. Immediately sparring showed every bad technique I had been using (in terms of footwork and balance). My punches are great, stiff, snappy. My feet and my balance however make those punches impossible to ever throw in a real situation. I just wanted to say this drill is amazing for not only feeling out the way to move forward in a balanced position, but it also forces your feet to maintain correct heel-toe alignment. Thanks.
I like how when he gets speed his head doesnt move and his shoulder just pivot. He does it good slow but his head stays in the same place when he goes fast

After the first weave over the leg throw a front snap kick with the right leg. This style is hoping low like a rabbit. After you twist over the left leg you have to keep both legs moving forward. You hop weave right to left remaining low
do this like check hooks, its super effective u jab and change direction at the same time, almost like check hooks but 45 degree, for the left use left foot, right use right foot, do it just like u check hook, ur front foot already in a position u already jab, same as the right u pivot it so the weight is on the front, just like the rear soviet check hooks
