4:00 Hey Phil. If I'm anywhere understanding correctly, the detent gets screwed up from various mechanical idiosyncracies. Believe it or not, I went from projection operator to cinematography field tech for projectors almost 36 years ago. Even back then, the metrology of some of the sprockets would somehow go out from its timing.
Im envious you have some great scanners. Those cheap frame by frame scanners. Also have a history of scratching and destroying film. And Moviestuff was a scam. I also hear that the repair people are old and about ready to retire.
Tobin’s are the ‘cheapest’ way to do it correctly. Moviestuff is defunct as of last year and his machines were $8k-$20+k and any selling now are going for bigger bucks for the spare parts. Next up is film scanners that start at $50k up to millions.

Yep yep and yep!!
It's amazing to me you have 20 of these. They seems so rare, and expensive. Maybe they're so rare because you're hoarding them. ;) lol
Yep, it’s an equipment hoarding business these days!
What would u recommend for an alternative in doing transfers, as Tobins are too expensive and extremely hard to even find for new businesses.
