it doesn't have nearly the creative depths we've seen on pop2, charli, HIFN, etc, but it's clearly not going for that and I'd be wrong to look at brat expecting it. I'm not the pop lifer that a lot of her fans are, I came to charli for the experimental production but fell in love with her because of her pop sensibilities. In some ways charli's earlier output taught me how to re-imagine pop music. Melodies and pop songwriting that I'd normally never think twice about, but when put within the context of production interesting enough to exist on it's own, it forced me to recognize and appreciate the pop songwriting. I'm always gonna be a dumb little experimental music dork at heart, so brat being a perfect 10/10 is kinda hard for me to imagine when I know the creative and experimental depths we've seen her reach before. Either way I think it's a great record, multiple instant bangers and a few truly beautiful moments. Definitely an improvement from crash imo. I'm seeing her live tomorrow for the brat tour and I can't fucking wait, I bet these tracks are gonna go crazy through a club system.

100% - I feel like a lot of what Charli's done with her career is increase the accessibility of these sounds that were originally more experimentational by giving them that pop context. considering how much she seems to want chart success this album cycle I think it's really cool that she's getting all this attention without having to sacrifice or dilute *too* much of the weirdness in the actual music. hope you enjoy her show!

If you think brat doesnt have experimental enough sounds compared.to her other stuff then your not listening hard enough. The production is the best shes ever done and the way it blends noisy industrial synths and agressive production with poppy synths and late 2000s synth pop sounds is extremely progressive. Obviously have ur preferences by all means but i think the fact that the songs are shorter as well adds this bluntness to the project that further is shown with the album cover

i love how she went back to her ed banger and uffie type influences and committed to them full force. she’s said in interviews she was born out of rave/indiesleaze/club roots and she was born to make BRAT out of all these factors

@@gallagath also im ngl the final drop to b2b didnt go the way i thought it was so it kind of underwhelmed me a little cause in my head she could kept that same flow on it but she kinda switched the beat on it a little so it threw my rhythm off. But still liked the song but couldve transitioned differently. I dont know if you feel the same way about that track
