Wow, Meshuggah, Elder and Intronaut. I love all these bands. I hope to see more reactions from Elder especially, because theyre such an underated band. Definitely the best stoner rock band out there
I would absolutely love to see you react to their whole catch-33 album since it's 13 tracks that flow together as one song with 3 or 4 distinct sections. It's only about 47 minutes so it hopefully wouldn't run more than 2 hours of video length and you would be one of 3 people on the platform to react to it. Trust me when I say the meshuggah fans would come out in force to run it up, just like we did when drew fortune did his full reaction. A lot of us believe it to be their best work so far, and while I still put obzen above it, its easily their second best album imo.
Stop calling yourself a NOOB. You've reacted and heard so much of this music now. Seeing you grow and appreciate it. Is what makes this channel so special. You are a metal head now. ADMIT IT!!
I am 100% okay with this format! It is easier IMO to view one longer video a few times a week than try and keep up with watching 4-6 videos when they come out every day. I pick times when I can just catch up during the week.
Love that smile of yours when the final riff/groove hit. That is exactly the way I feel listening to that riff. I could listen to it the whole day. It's awesome.
This new format is great. Glad you're back. Can you do Meshuggah Violent Sleep Of Reason as the next track of theirs? Absolute monster of a track. Keep on rocking man!
@@Flugmorph theres no track by Meshuggah that's by far better than another to me. I love the band. I just think this track has a standout groove and sound.
Intronaut and Elder have become two bands that have been on constant rotation for me since I discovered them a couple years ago. I was stoked to see that you have both bands in 1 video!
I really appreciate your attention to the mixing and engineering aspects of the music. Aside from the great metal listens, it's my favorite thing about the channel. Valuable insights.
Love the new style, my good man. Would love it even more if every one had a song by Elder in it. They're a very special band, I think. Great reactions within a larger reaction!
The 50+ minute time was intimidating to me, but I started it and see what you’re trying to do here. For most reactions, if I saw that time length, I would probably not even watch. You have a big fan base, so you can make it work. If you did this type of reaction for say Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss, I’m in. Will have to watch this in bits and pieces since I usually watch reactions on work breaks or lunch break. Much love.
Thank you very much for your thoughts on the format! And yes, QOTSA and Kyuss sounds like it would be a great combo on the new format - Have a mellow day :)
Hi Geebz! Its always a pleasure when someone shows some love to Intronaut! They are freaking awesome. I would love to see you react to a band called BEARDFISH, i would think that you already hace made a video but i think you have not, believe me when i tell you, you will really like them. I really liked the new format, podcast vibes, i like to hear you talk about the music i like. Best of lucks to you my friend 🖖🏻👽
Love the new format..I think you may enjoy the album "I" by Meshuggah...it's a gnarly beast of a song...20min .. it's a banger... Keep up the awesome work
5:40 Good ear. In a recent interview, Tomas stated they intentionally made a warmer mix. They said they're getting old and are aiming for (paraphrase:) "less if a truck coming at you" lol
I really like this idea. It's tough when TH-camrs I love happen to release tons of videos a week; I simply can't "ring the bell" for them. I'm hoping this not only works out for you, but catches on elsewhere. EDIT: I'm still here lol
Longform format is awesome! First thing I thought when I saw a near hour long video: “Maybe there’s some hope that Geebz could do a full album review in the future”. Tons of prog rock and metal albums are concept albums and I think it would be immensely entertaining to hear your takes on works like that in their entirety!
Dude, Danny Walker is probably one of the most underrated drumers walking this Earth (1st time i heard him on this album). The stickman has tremendous groove and discipline.
Great to see another Elder track. Such a treat to see and completely relate to your first reactions. Every time they release something new it's such an exciting and engaging journey. I could never explain it but something about their music always felt "right". I've been amazed by it for the 10 years I've been listening to the band. And to be honest, I don't want to figure out what that is. It's just magic.
The part where you talk about Meshuggah not always landing on the 1 sums up so much of what I love about their riffs. Just as you’re figuring out the riff some little change happens and throws you off and maybe never happens again through the track. Can’t wait for the whole new album!
Your awesome.... just subscribed, you are very talented, very smart Musician! -SOEN! More SOEN- please! You will never be dissatisfied with this band. Watch all your shows- old- New, whatever format, your channel is the absolute best. Thanks to you , because you teach me a lot!🙏
Hey Geebz! First of all love the new format, and secondly, in the Meshuggah track, you got it spot on with not catching on the highs. They said in recording this album, they wanted to go with a warmer approach and something that's better to listen back to instead of their older songs, which are more punch you in the face kind of guitar vibes. Overall still love what you're doing and I'm glad you're progressing your ways and learning a lot! Edit: Oops I just saw someone else comment the same thing I'm sorry!
I like either format, they both have pros and cons. Do what works best for you. All three songs in this vid happened to be bands I really like, so it was pretty cool to have them all in one place. But even if there were only one of three that I was interested in, the time stamps make it easy to navigate. Good stuff.
Hi Geebz. Welcome back!! Glad to hear you're doing well and keen to continue our musical journey! The new format is a great idea having the option to listen to a group of tunes, but it really depends on what is easiest for you... I'd say the only drawback on this format is that it's harder to sort through people's comments that are specific to the particular band or genre. I often like to read the comments to find out a bit more about the band or other tracks of theirs. Obviously still can do, but just a bit harder this way! Keep up the great work regardless mate! Cheers from London, UK.
Please do more Meshuggah! Personally i tend to watch your videos on the bands i like, luckily in this case Meshuggah was first so I saw it in the title but if it was last i may have missed it and not watched at all. I'd prefer many short videos than one really long video, unless it was multiple songs for the same band.
I’m still here mang! Love the new format as I’m of the belief that more of your insight is always appreciated. It may be tough to pull off but you could do them by “themes” - so like a few songs that illustrate a musical concept nicely or a whole suite of songs back-to-back. Or a full album review, like, for instance, ‘Colors’ by Between the Buried and Me. Keep ‘em coming and we’ll keep enjoying ‘em. 🤙🤙🤙
New format works for me! Nice to have you back; loved seeing your response to the huge moments in Sul Ponticello. That whole album is amazing and that particular track translates really nicely when they play it live.
I love a lot of your videos for Tool and some other rock and metal bands. Elder was a mystery when I discovered them late last year, now I don't know how I missed them for so long. Please do more of their stuff, even though they aren't your most popular videos, please? Catastasis off their newest album is incredible.
Im loving watching you go through this journey as you are clearly very open minded and understanding of all sorts of music. I like the new format, as long as it works good for you i think it will work.
My only comment maybe make it a lil more clear in title which names are the bands and which are the songs so people that havent heard of the bands before, was a tad confused but fine once i watched obviously
With this new format, it would be interesting to see you do different eras for one band and compare/contrast. (Early metallica, middle metallica, newer metallica, or any other band)
I have no problems with the format. And glad you caught the new Meshuggah track! If this format helps with your algorithm and success as a content creator, then I'm all about it! Seems more efficient
New format is great, good way to get us watching bands we wouldn't usually check out! After Meshuggah I felt like I was chilling with you checking out new Music I'd never heard before. Intronaught is gold. They got a new fan here! Cheers Geebz!
I was curious what the new format was gonna be. I like this, and I’m really thankful that you put timestamps in the description. This format might have been a lot less user-friendly if I couldn’t pick up where I left off between songs, or skip songs I’m not interested in.
i haven't started watching yet but what i enjoy about longer videos is a pick and choose longer videos from my fav channels to catch up with a few times a week. it's my tv time and it's like watching any other tv show or movie. and 100% appreciate the time stamps. SOOOO helpful!
man this was awesome! love the new way of doing this! it felt as if I was listening to a radio show but with more than just music! and the fact that you can go and choose what you want is a great idea too! Meshugga was good! but the 2 other ones were quite a discovery! aaaand I'm still here! good to have you back sir and aaawright! ✌peace to us all!
Looking forward to you doing Haken's entire Messiah Complex suite (I - V) with this new format. It's only about 15 minutes in length and has so much depth.
I really like the combined approach. As someone pointed out it is like listening to it with a good friend. However, finding one hour in between might be very difficult. This might lead to a more fragmented listening approach to each video.
Elder is my favorite band and In Procession is my favorite track by them. I'm so stoked on this channel. I watched your reaction to the Zelda theme orchestra and was sold on the channel with your very wholesome and organic method, but I didn't realize how much music you review that resonates with me so much.
Big Elder fan. You should also check out King Buffalo, they are my favorite in this "genera". 'Shadows' from their new album (12/21) is great newer song. If you go back to older albums check out 'Eta Carinae' off their 2020 album.
This is actually a great idea. There's definitely been some bands on your channel people have no doubt skipped because they've never heard of them before. In a format like this, if they've already clicked on the video, they can have a little listen anyway and see what it is.
Geebz! This new format def works for me, digging the variety of bands and therefor styles of music. ...and the way you dissect the music feels like storytelling which sets you apart from all the other channels. Knowledge of- and love for music and being able to share what you hear (and feel) is freakin' awesome! MESHUGGAH will always be one of my fav bands out there! Destroying everything mathematically that's getting in their way! No bullshit, no gimmicks. INTRONAUT, wow, love them too! Great (dark) vibe, technical and groovy! KILLER!!! Keep it up Geebz!
I love the new format, I think it's a great Idea! To add to the long list of requests, I'd love to see you decompose "Pallid Hands" or "Death Knows Where" by In Solitude.
I really love the new format! It really gives us all the chance to get into the music. It doesn’t feel rushed and it has a much more chill vibe. I think it suits you perfectly!
I really like this format. I’ve been a fan of all 3 of these bands for years so it’s cool to see them all get a reaction on the same video as opposed to individual ones. Wouldn’t mind more like these even if it’s only done once in a while 👍🏼
How did you manage to hit on probably THE three bands that have defined my heavy music listening of the last 10 years in one video? Serious hats off to you sir. Elder will almost casually toss a world class riff in for a few measures and then never play it again across a 10-15 minute song and they do this again and again. Check out the title track from the album "Lore".
I really like this new format! With longer video times I can hit play, sit back, and do other things while it plays and listen in. Or, as you said, I can use the timestamps! Options are great. As for the video itself, never really paid attention to Meshuggah, but that backing rift (not sure if it was the bass or what) just kind of thrums within you after a minute or so. Not my style of music really, but it sure did get my foot tapping haha. Really enjoyed it.
This format is a fantastic way to get around to more tracks from bands, and it gives you liberty to (if you wish) cycle through 2 or 3 singles from one album, get to 2 or more "standout" tracks that people have recommended to you (or ones that you know of prior, like TBT or with classic rock & metal,) or in this case, get to multiple tracks within the same sort of genre, or like tracks. Hopefully this will be a win-win for you and the audience, Geebz, cause I could absolutely see this being a great shift in the channel! And like you said, if things start getting to be too much, or if you want to switch it up again, it's all good to me. This channel is a great way for me to experience new bands, and occasionally some new tracks from bands I've heard of before. Thanks for all you do, man, and wish you the best with everything! Will keep watching and riding on this musical wave with ya probably until the end. Keep on rocking!🤙 P.S. - As always, I'm still here!
You're helping me get even more stoked about this album dropping exactly a month from today! Hope you're got time to check it out when that time comes. Awesome job on the new format btw
I'm still here baby! Loved the long format. I think this also gets you closer to full album reactions (like Between The Buried And Me's most recent "Colors II"). But for reals, this was a great hurrah back! Keep it coming, Mahalo!
I`m always still here dude. Liking the new format and if it works better around your life and health then it is definitely the way to go. I think the new style will introduce more people to more new bands which I have always been about and is one of the main reasons I started watching music reactions in the first place. You may lose a few people to attention spans that are starting to decrease every year but most music fans are into longer (album length rather than just singles) listens especially in these genres, but the inclusion of the chapters is a great move to give the best of both worlds.
I have been listening to Meshuggah since 95! You do, do it a great justice!! Dont get me wrong! Meshuggah is a 90s metal band! The mellinials have a hard time appreciating it. They just think they came up with it on their own! They dont want to call it influence because they are entitled to everything! Keep it up brother!
You have to check out Cloudkicker at some point! One of the best riff-writers of the last decade. I recommend "What They Do Is Not Art" from his latest
I'm still here! 1 song per video works better for me. It's easier to find songs, will give you more views, easier to share, doesn't make me go back to find unfinished videos since it's hard to find 1 hour to watch a vid, and it gives each song its own spotlight. Comments won't all be mixed up about different songs too.
Geebz you would absolutely love Delta Sleep, amazing technical sound especially accompanied with the thoughtful lyrics. I recommend Camp Adventure or View to a Fill
Interesting format for sure! If you feel you can get a finger on the pulse of overlapping fandoms this new format could benefit you as well as the the viewers tremendously! If you hit 2/3 bands people are very likely to stick around for the third. Your analysis and ear for interesting details carries it more than well enough for people to stick around for the full duration and you get to occupy that algorithm sweet spot of 2-3 videos per week. Nothing but win win if you're able to tweak it to make retention consistent! I'm definitely here for it! Keep at geebing at it!
Hey Geebz! I was really curious what you were gonna do. I want to tell you that personally, I dig it, for what it’s worth. Thank you for putting in so much work, and so much Good work at that. You’re very considerate of your audience as well. Thanks a lot and keep rockin’ brother! 🤘🏻 Oh hey, by the way, check out Alex Terrible’s (Singer from Slaughter To Prevail) Russian Hate Project stuff. He covers all kinds of pop songs with his Insane guttural metal vocals. It’s Crazy!
New format doesnt change anything for me, im still here. I saw you tuned into Finn's reaction video on reactors reacting to him...im glad you all are still here. You turned me on to Parkway Drive and Dance Gavin Dance and Gojira. Big fan of all 3 now. All thanks to Geebz and the excellent comment suggestions!!
HELL YEAH MORE INTRONAUT!
Wow, Meshuggah, Elder and Intronaut. I love all these bands. I hope to see more reactions from Elder especially, because theyre such an underated band. Definitely the best stoner rock band out there
Intronaut's drummer at the time, Danny Walker, is a powerhouse and one of the best syncopated players I've seen.
I came back to Catch 33 lastly; I didn't know this album that much and I have to admit that this is probably the most intense album they did. Cheers!
If you do this I'll buy you a coffee full of cocain, acid and morphine, that way you can hear AND feel the album as you go through 😉🤘
Man what a good choice for an Intronaut track, an immense sonic journey, and a poignant message if you delve into the lyrics.
I saw Intronaut live perform this whole album in it's entirety. I was right in front of Joe Lester, insane bassist.

If you are willing to create 60 minute content, you could do albumreviews.
🙃
Loved watching you really get into the new Meshuggah track. Thanks for keeping us all entertained
Whoa whoa...three absolute BANGERS in one video?? Bravo, sir.
Love this format, watched the whole thing and its even more enjoyable than just one somng at a time :D
enjoy your coffee, cheers
I like this more than their other stuff. Same reason I love Gojira, melodic, powerful and nuanced
If it's this kind of amazing lineup of musical artists then I have no problem with this new format!
Whoa. I like this! 👍👍
Glad to see you check out Intronaut!!
I m loving the format. U can can actually do whole album reactions with this. I m down for the journey
Keep on rocking!🤙
P.S. - As always, I'm still here!
You're helping me get even more stoked about this album dropping exactly a month from today! Hope you're got time to check it out when that time comes. Awesome job on the new format btw
All great bands and tracks. Love the new format!
Glad you enjoy it!
I am still here! I really like this format. Please continue.
I think the new format works just fine, it is easy to figure out and use. I always enjoy your content so very much! All my best to ya, Geebz.
You have to check out Cloudkicker at some point! One of the best riff-writers of the last decade. I recommend "What They Do Is Not Art" from his latest
Sir, you are my favourite reaction face over Meshuggah, ever !! Love it ! Excellent
new format forced me to listen to tracks i wasn't here for in fist instance. thanks! i didn't knew Elder before, now i want everything :D
Great release. Favourite song is still "I" thou. Would like a reaction to that.
Love this format, keep up the long play record!!! I'm still here!
"I thought that was absolutely badass."
FACTS!!!
*I'M STILL HERE!!!*
Seeing any reaction vid try to count out Sul Ponticello is why I watch these. Good luck
New format is very nice, I stayed with you throughout. Cheers man!
I'm still here
