I really wish you could just tell the villager to stand still, and they just stand there until you enter a building or leave. It seems like it would be so easy for them to code too.
I say this ALL the time. From a development standpoint, this would be EXTREMELY easy for the devs to add. All that is needed is a simple dialogue option that states "wait here," and when selected, the villager movement would be postponed. I would also love to see some options within the camera that activate animated items automatically like fireworks, pyroboxes, confetti cannons, etc. Having to run around and activate them all manually is tedious, and it doesn't have to be. 🙃
@@Probably_Senpai sadly I think so many people give up getting a great DreamSnap. I spent a lot of time on mine and between the critters moving your perfectly placed sidekick, then another villager starts speaking and their bubble starts and freezes so you have to go out of camera mode and reset everything again! I missed several of my favorite shots and then kind of gave up and took an ok shot! So frustrating. Fortunately I usually get 4000 moonstones so that’s good, but I know it wasn’t my best!! Great tip video!! ❤
Something is wrong with Gameloft. I mean, it took them 3 years just to give us the ability to rotate items. Sad to say, even Sims 4 was implemented better from the start.
It's hilarious that the answer is not that there's been a new thing added to make villagers more cooperative. No, instead, you can just hide the manner in which they're being restrained.
@Thedarkbunnyrabbit Hilarious and sad. 😅 I still don't understand why we haven't received a "stay here" dialogue option with our villagers. Sometimes I wonder how many of the developers actually play the game. 🙃
@@Probably_Senpai Nonsense, we definitely do! Just have Kristoff follow you and then go inside somewhere and Kristoff will definitely stay put, become immovable, and refuse to let you escape. Works like a charm!! It is weird they don't let us tell them to stand still though, I guess it's to maintain an illusion that they're all real/thinking?
This video came along at just the right time. I was so confused, I tried to make some TOM tables, and I only got two tables. I had to watch your video all the way through to remember that these flipping things are CRAFTABLE. 😆 *Thank you!* Also, I couldn't remember how folks got that trophy, so that was also a great reminder. I forgot about that. Wow, maybe my next Dreamsnaps will be "more awesomer" with all these tools at my disposal! Thanks for sharing, Senpai!
Oh these are fantastic. I submitted my dreamsnap 2 days ago for the new years celebration. I did it in my house on one of the empty floors. The scene was a party, used mannequins to add multiple "people". One behind the dj booth and a male and female on each side of the dance floor. Then I had Eric with me. Hung out to bring him in, then quit the hang out so he'd move around. He spent at least a good 5 minutes standing in one corner or another, while I'm standing there with my pose just waiting. Finally he walks towards me, and bows and I snapped and got the perfect shot. As it looks like he's asking her to dance, and she's just thrilled to say yes. But I will definitely be utilizing these tricks with my next exterior dreamsnaps.
Jafar and Flynn both have an animation that you can use to glitch characters into standing still. They also can't bring up speech bubbles in that state either. You can face characters in the desired direction with the selfie cam or by speaking to them, but they will not move. The only major caveat is that they also won't do any animations.
I have almost rage quit this game several times attempting to use the floating islands for my dreamsnaps. I did not realize you could use the menu to summon them. Thank you so so soooo much for all of the extremely informative content you make for this game. Absolute game changer, you've saved me a massive headache for this week 😂❤
wow! this was super helpful!!! ty ty ty I didn't even know the option to choose them was there. I was just using the firepit and living with what showed up. Also using the TOM items to trap is genius! love this channel... you do great work and always provide great tips . well done.
Thank you! Alot of players I've spoken to also didn't know about the villager selection option. The game didn't really point it out in the floating island tutorial, and it's usually hidden behind the fast travel menu! I'm very happy you're enjoying the channel. I hope you have a wonderful 2025!
Ok, this is embarrassing, but I didn’t know any of this stuff 😆 Your videos are so freakin helpful Senpai❤️ Every week I struggle to corral villagers for my dream snaps, so I’m definitely going to try these tips. Thank you so much
@arnicamontana6222 You're not alone! Several players I've spoken with on my live streams had no idea how to get villagers to their floating islands! The game doesn't really do a good job explaining it, and the feature is kind of hidden! I'm happy to hear you found the video helpful!
I got my first 4000 moonstones thanks to your tips! It was so annoying trying to figure out how to get everyone in poses. I really wish they could pose in a mode other than selfie mode.
I would love to know why I cannot pick up any herbs or break any rocks in my village. This has been going on for like six months and I can’t go back to like today’s date. I always have to fast-forward and then I can’t do my quest or anything.
Go to Moanas boat and see how how long until you can harvest her fish. That is how long you will have to wait for it to reset on its on. If it's too far in the future, your only option is to start a new game
@lynnzaphOO Sounds like you may have "time-traveled" or changed your date/time settings on your device. Many players used to do this with animal crossing, but this does NOT work with DDLV and will break your game. Unfortunately, your game might be beyond saving... The only option is to wait until the synchronized date catches up to whatever future date you set... or start a new game. In the future, be sure to NEVER open dreamlight valley when your date/time settings are out of sync! Ddlv is a live-service game and MUST be synchronized with your local time anytime it's played. Sorry for the bad news! 🥲
@@Probably_Senpai Thank you so much Yes that is exactly what I have done. Do you know if i start my game over will i still be able to keep all the stuff I have bought? Like with real money all of my moonstone money.
@lynnzaphOO Yes! Premium items are attached to your account. Therefore, even if you restart your valley, any premium items you purchased in the premium shop or items you've unlocked with starpaths will thankfully still be accessible! (Assuming you use the same account!) 😁
I really wish they would just give us better control. Ideally full character control to stay in a position and do a certain animation. But heck for now i would take blocks that lock characters in but won't display in photo mode
for some reason when i was building my new years dreamsnap i could get villagers to the floating island, i tried the map and placing their houses but the only thing i could get to work was summoning random characters with the villager gathering items 🤦🏻♀️
As stated in the video, summoning villagers will NOT work if the villagers you've selected are attending any shop or restaurant. This was likely the case for you. If this was not the case, that means your game was experiencing bugs and issues (not uncommon with DDLV). When this happens, your best bet is a simple restart. This almost always resolves the issue.
You mentioned that villagers won't be called if they're in a restaurant. I wonder if you And and served them, would that fulfill their obligation to remain in Remy's?
@SteenWDW That's a great question. No, unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Even after you give them their food, the villagers are still locked to the restaurant. You just have to wait for the shop/ restaurant lineups to change, which occurs every hour on the hour.

@Thedarkbunnyrabbit I knew you would say that but they only do that in selfie mode. And no one is using selfie mode for dreamsnaps unless they're new.
