This is a really excellent review! I've had a couple Hillebergs for almost 20 years... and until I saw this video I've never thought to stuff the tent to pull out the front end first, to set up into the wind. Excellent tip!

Really useful. Currently looking for a rtw bicycle touring tent. Want something better than my hubba hubba. Was looking at the allak or nammatj 2 but was looking at the gt version of this one

We are so glad you found this useful. The GT version would be a fantastic option for cycle touring as it offers far more storage and organisation space!

That a really good review. Do you touch the back inner with your sleeping bag when you lie on a sleeping pad?
    Cheers Matti

Personally I don't. I'm 5ft 8. It maybe an issue for someone a fair bit taller

Thanks for your reply. Having thought about buying the Nallo but was not sure about that question. But your answer helps. 😊

Nice to see this tent properly pitched. Looks much better than the typical pitches I've seen from UK hikers.

nice review! but very sad that it is not available for everyone it is way too expensive. greetings from Sweden

Thank you! Hillebergs are definitely an investment but are built to withstand years of use!

To be honest here in Sweden they are not that expensive. Everywhere else they seem to be much dearer. Swedes also benefit from the fact that there are thousands upon thousands of barely used Hilleberg tents on the second hand market at very good prices. I got my akto for 4000sek basically new, my soulo for 6000, my kaitum 2 for 6500, and a staika for 7000. För tents made in Europe by the most experienced tent maker in the world, using the best silnylon available, it is a good price. But if you only camp in the woods then lets be honest, don't buy one

Superb video, very informative, great sound and detailed. I'm 6'9" (209cm) so struggle finding a tent with a long enough useable inner to fit inside comfortably. Currently I use a Kaitum 2 GT and an Akto but I've been considering the Helags for 3 season use and I picked up a Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 ''Long'' from yourself (Superb service) but haven't tried it yet. Many thanks.

Glad it was helpful! The Helags is a brilliant but often over looked option! So glad that we have been able to get you set up in the past and thank you so much for supporting us!!

How on earth do you fit in an Akto? I'm 5'8," and very comfortable with the length of the Akto, but the height is problematic. Even if I dig down in the snow, I can't really use a pee bottle in a storm, but have to get out of the tent because the door is just too low.

Nice to hear you suggest its a great option for 1 person. Pre kids, when younger and fitter I used my nallo for solo backpacking. A great place to be when you have to take to your tent at 5pm. Getting back out now and a bit envious of all sub 1.5 kg tents.

Our staff have loved using the demo Nallo 2 for solo nights on the moors and longer trips in Scotland. As you mentioned, it's a fantastic space to have if the weather turns early and you need to hunker down! There's now a huge selection of sub-1.5kg tents, and they’re really impressive. It definitely raises the question: weight or durability?

@@tauntonleisure yep...too much choice, I'm all over your website considering options.
I can handle the weight, its the nallo pack size I struggle with.

the rear vent, is that ok to keep open in rain? or will the inner get wet? about to use mine for the first time at weekend

    • @tauntonleisure
      @tauntonleisure  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Hi, You will have no issues leaving the vent open in the rain. The fly comes over enough to protect it and the bath tub floor comes up high enough to deal with any moisture that may get blown in.

Thanks for a good review. Am looking for a two person, four season tent that is as light as possible with a good size porch for cooking etc with enough room for myself and my dog. This tent is definitely on mu short list!
