He's leading the students to conclude that the first hypothesis (a thing has no essential being, only qualities) cascades through, applies to, all experience of things downstream, as it were, from the first hypothesis. Similarly, because no one chooses to be born, all choices from birth are "not chosen", that is to say there are no choosers. One is dropped on the doorstep of the mystery. Lovely.
