Pearlfish are quite fascinating creatures. They use the sea cucumber's body as a sort of shelter, emerging at night to go and hunt for small crustaceans, returning to safety during the day when its predators are more likely to be nearby.

@@juandavidrestrepoduran6007 they use the sea cucumbers as homes and exit the cucumber to forage for food and later find a new cucumber to rest in and the cycle continues.
The yellow slimy stuff is the sea cucumber's intensinal tract. It pushes it out in distress, then grows a new one. The eel fish that comes out with it is not a parasite, it simply uses the sea cucumber's anus as a shelter, just to rest inside. Earth's various forms of life are marvelous.

The small fish' organs are actually pretty intriguing. I think it's amazing how even the smallest of organisms have such complex systems inside their body which are "so small that it's hard to make out" nature is awesome

Yes, this is actually normal for any fish that can fit inside the sea cucumber to live inside it for protection. This sea cucumber is actually a nice sea cumber with those spots it has, would be nice to keep it in a reef tank, they do clean the sand from detritus.

I was having a swimming lesson out in the ocean when my coach actually stepped on a sea cucumber and made it eject the substance, we had to swim as far as we could from the sea cucumber and later removed it from the ocean after the lesson, a very interesting defense mechanism.

These jelly like texture food such as pork leg, sea cucumber, fish lip ...etc were usually seen as full of collagen and good for maintaining good looking (make ones skin looks nice and feel elastic)

I'm curious now, at what point was the sea cucumber actually dead? It's crazy how it lives without its organs, but without that as a guide is there any way to know if it's still technically alive or not? I wouldn't have thought so, but he seemed concerned with not wanting to hurt it, so I'm curious to know when it actually died
Sea cukes are very hardy. They're echinoderms, same as starfish and urchins and what not, and while starfish are able to regenerate limbs they lose, sea cucumbers are on a whole other level. They can regenerate their external wall, they can regenerate bits of the nervous system, bits of the respiratory system and the entire digestive system. Here you saw the sea cucumber absolutely shoot out its own digestive tract, and yet after that it was entirely still alive. As to when it actually died, I'm not knowledgeable enough about sea cucumber nervous structure to be able to tell you what amount of nerve damage makes the nervous system unable to function, or same for the respiratory system, so yeah we need a sea cucumber expert or a biology major with interest in this field for that
Doesn't matter. These things 1000% do not have souls like you do and your cat might have too.
Anything less derived than a reptile 100% confirmed does not have anything resembling a soul to experience anything.
....Basically these have not evolved past the point of being essentially just a natural machine yet
