Lmao none of his students have surpassed Gojo yet . Sukuna even said it the only reason they have a chance is because Gojo real f him up with infinite void that forces Sukuna into a burning out a part of his brain . The only people that are close to surpassing Gojo is Yuta and Yuji . Yutas combat prowess is extremely good and can get better and Yuji is just starting to learn how to use CE and CT correctly he is a fast learner. Gojo was just a bad teacher .
Think about it. He hasn’t fought anyone else but a weakened Sukuna. I’m not saying he can’t beat some of the special grade characters we’ve seen like Ryu, Uro, Base Kashimo and etc but it’s hard to gauge where Yuji is at when he hasn’t had an actual strong opponent to beat post Shibuya. He can use blood manipulation but he can’t use convergence. He has soul punches that seemingly weaken your output but if you have a ct that can keep him at a distance it’s rendered useless. He has RCT but hasn’t mastered it fully and he needed Choso’s guidance to help him heal.
@@BeastBoy557 when it comes to the healing thing I didn’t interpret that as Yuji not being able to properly heal, rather he was in such an intense battle that in order to stay in it he kinda had to cut corners and that wound up catching up to him. Choso was there to basically tell him to pop a mini shield. Like he’s survived 4 lethal attacks and regrown entire parts of his torso and a world slash. If that’s not advanced RCT idk what is, admittedly he doesn’t have many fights to scale him off of, but he’s damn near always part of a group fight. You can scale him based on how he performs with his ally’s. It’s been repeatedly stated that if someone is significantly stronger than their ally then the weaker one will be nothing but a burden. Yuji was shown moving on par with Maki all the way back in chapter 215 and more recently was able to move like a dynamic duo with Yuta. You don’t get as precise scaling this way but you do get a clear idea of general power level. It could be argued that Yujis the weakest of the special grades(I disagree but not the point) but regardless I find it hard to believe people with functioning braincells think Yuji isn’t at that level

I would list anyone with these skills to be special grade - Can defend against/survive an almost countless number of bullets and missiles - Has some way to eliminate even the most defensive and bulky of tanks - Has some way to eliminate aircrafts - Has enough stamina to constantly reinforce themselves with cursed energy for at least 24 hours up to a whole week depending on their travel speed (since if you’re really slow it’ll take you longer to travel and take over a whole nation)

Nothing. Even before awakening TWICE she was already able to catch bullets that are amped with CE and Yuji without CE was physically stronger than this Maki And there’s a ton of characters stronger than this version of Yuji even with him using CE So realistically- no grade 1 sorcery should be taking any damage from bullets

Mecharmaru especially after he gets his body idle transfigured by Mahito is definitely Special grade imo. Able to make a army of puppets that he can control all over Japan, ridiculous amounts of cursed energy, and a giant mecha able to shoot gigantic lasers. I also agree with Maki, as she is suppose to be about on par with Toji, and Toji able to take out Geto on a 1v1 and even though heavily tired, able to get the jump on Gojo
Also I want to see Yuji get his own version of Fuga where instead of a bow its a gun or something like that and Yuji says "Stove Open" rather than "Furnace Open"
They're special grade not just because of their power but mostly because they're walking disasters that either break the laws of physics or can kill immense amounts of people easily. Maki and Hakari aren't special because they're just strong in 1v1s. We have a dude that can't be hit and can mind rape everyone instantly. A guy who can summon a seemingly limitless amount of dangerous curses assuming he has prep. A girl who takes the no limits fallacy literally in terms of strength. Then there's copy himothy who has an indestructible girlfriend the size of a 10 story building. Hakari just 1v1s hardcore, he can't really take over a country.

The manga is definitely worth reading, but I’d recommend you stay away from the vis (official) translations, the guy who does them is an idiot and mistranslates a bunch of stuff
The grading system needs to be revisited imo since some of the requirements are pretty vague. But if we do go by the current system we should at least add a new tier between Grade 1 and Special Grade. People like Maki, Yuji, Kashimo, and Hakari would be in this new in between rank. They just don’t have the combination of permanent power plus hax/ strong techniques that Special grades have. Sukuna, Gojo, Kenny, Yuki, and Yuta should really be the only Special Grades.
I somewhat agree with yuji and kashimo but hakari and maki is crazy they both have amazing hax with jackpot and heavenly restriction along with stats on the level of special grades such as Yuta and yuki there techniques may not have good one shot potentially but they both shine in there own way with a literally the best defensive ability besides infinity with jackpot and maki being able to go in and out of domain with crazy stats and soul split all around maki has permanent power on that level well hakari may not after the first jackpot he basically never stops hitting then till the fight is over
I think it could be split into 3 leagues of special grade if you put them by large power gaps, with anyone 2 or above able to wipe out a whole country, but 3 can throw hands with a special grade 2 and survive through attack power, survivability, but especially utility and how the plot would write it out. Special grade 3 Hakari, kashimo(once he mythic beasts), Higuruma, Iori Hazenoki(explosive eyeball guy), Fumihiko Takaba, Takako uro(sky technique), Ryu Ishigori (dessert guy), Dhruv (curse guy yuta killed). These guys, with an assist from a decently handy grade 1 would be able to beat any of eachother, so they are more or less equal. and finally, Maki. Special grade 2 Kenjaku, Yuta, arguably you could upgrade ryu or hakari into here. Yuji might be there with the latest blackflash too. He'll surpass them once he masters the true nature of his cursed energy and his technique. Special grade 1 Sukuna, Gojo. I don't put maki on yuta's level because I believe yuta or kenjaku are stronger than teen gojo, even if after awakening red toji still considered he had a chance to win. I think toji's assessment was correct, as gege makes gojo use purple there to basically say "true, but he didn't think of that" in a litterary author sense. Regardless I think yuta's surpassed teen gojo what with controlling his CT so well, but especially - Rika. Teen gojo wasn't even half as powerfull as current gojo, but rika is said and shown to be stronger than disaster curses, which are like 1/5th as strong as sukuna or gojo at peak. So without underestimating rika or yuta relative to rika, he'd clearly be stronger than teen gojo with red - and therefore stronger than maki by a decent bit.

Maki is more of a brute force fighter fighting you face to face where as Toji is a assassin that always step out if your line of sight before attacking you and that was a big reason he win against Gojo . The only time Maki used Tojis style was in a group battle but that doesn't count as in a group battle the opponent can't pay attention to everyone. As we can see when she 1v1 Sukuna she literally ran up to him in his line of sight . When we saw Toji he literally f with you line of sight by using his speed to step in and out of your sight and sweeping people of their feet . If makie and Toji where to 1v1 Maki would straight up lose because Toji fighting style is superior as he uses the space around him better.
0:49 Geto is capable of RCT...he mentions this after Yuta goes and heals his friends, which gives him enough time to recover. "Healing requires an advanced Reverse Cursed Technique. Distracting you gives me time." Given the fact that he doesn't use it in battle and that it takes time for him to heal, it's likely that he isn't proficient in RCT like Gojo and Yuta are.
geto doesnt use rct, he was mentioning that to yuta who's healing the others. Geto had no reason to use rct since he didnt even get injured, he wasn't hurt. If anything he would've used it either in battle or after if he actually did know how to use it, but he didnt

I think the only domain we're told that can actually see Marki would be sukuna people just put gojo's up there because he's that strong but that doesn't mean his domain will suddenly sense her. Well done man and thinking about how to rank someone as special grade, I think it's not so much the size of the country that we should think about but the amount of power required to submit the entire armed forces of a nation. It's not about the size, it's just the idea of a one-man-army. That's what a special grade is, Sorcerers who have techniques that essentially turn them into a one-man-army. The Vatican is small but it is one of the most heavily fortified and secured cities in the world with crazy military backup. Some larger countries would be easier to conquer because their forces are more spread out, have less firepower, less specially trained soldiers, fewer artillery and defences or have a generally weaker army. Israel is one of the smallest countries in the world but they have one of the strongest militaries in the world. It would be difficult for any country to wage war with them single-handedly and win. It's about which Sorcerers can face like 10,000 soldiers, fighter jets, artillery, modern satellite tracking, drone strikes, bombing, etc alone and win.

Maybe special grade is determined from the consistency of their power + Potential? All of these other characters might have moments where their powers peak, but they are not insanely consistent with it like true special grades are.
In my opinion, Megumi could've became special grade if he used 10s like Sukuna did. I know Sukuna had more CE but Megumi could've done a bit if what Sukuna did.
Btw Miguel is stated to be above gojo in pure reinforcement without his own technique so he can amplify his stats even further as his ct buffs him also he may have anti domain measures but was still weary of domains from stronger opponents
while i agree that they can be relative to the special grades (at least talking on the kind of fights shown on the manga, so basicly 1v1, 2v1 etc), i don't know if they fit the requisite stated by kenjaku (to have the capacity to overtake a country), but at the same time would be a little weird that in theory maybe a grade 1 sorcerer could be more fitted than a special grade on a 1v1 (always bet on hakari)

I feel like JJK's grading really struggles due to the only relevant ranks being first and special, but there's a massive gap between bottom and top grade 1s. Like you got kusakabe and Choso, and then Nobara was recommended for grade 1. Like nobara is decently strong. But I feel like at this point in the narrative she would be as far away from Choso, as Choso is from Yuta. And then there's a whole ass yuta worth of distance between yuta and gojo. I will gladly support a Grade 0, just to break it up a bit. With hakari being the top of Grade 0(only not SG because he NEEDS to get that first domain off without dying, and I simply don't think he has the physicals in base to survive most other SG) and like, Naobito being the bottom. This would also be a good spot for Cursed spirits like the finger bearers.
Nee Six video is hype. Very sound points. I dont think that Larue is special grade, but I feel like he derserves some love for his participation in the fight against Sukuna, and surving a black flash from him. If Miguel can use his technique to amplify his offense as much as his defense was, then his case foe Special Grade is obviously cemented.(This isnt a response to any statement in the video).
The thing is, they can go on par with SP, but they can never be Special Grades bcause they lack the firepower to be able to do so. For Ex. Maki can fight Yuki, (Yuki will beat her let's be real) but Maki can't overthrow a country like Yuki. Yuki can just straight up create city level earthquakes by just jumping up and down, and can throw Garuda at immense speeds and so much mass she basically creates a Meteor equal to that of Chelyabinsk every damn time. If we're really stretching this, Uraume can be counted SP if her Ice Technique can freeze an entire country or cause an ice age, but she can't. Currently i think only 7 characters on the show qualifies as SP, Gojo, Sukuna, Kenjaku (Geto), Yuki, Yuta, Yorozu and Kashimo (CT).
To be fair, the grades are just there to assign sorcerers to appropriate missions. Not to mention, curse technique matchups play an important role in a fight making the grading system somewhat vague.
being a certain grade means that you can easily take out curses of that same grade. this means that grade 1 sorcerers can also beat weaker special grades, albeit with some difficulty.
It is interesting that Gege didn't just go down the route of someone being Special Grade level if they can do Domain Expansion. Go the Bleach route of only people who have Bankai can be Captains or in this case Special Grade with Domain Expansions. (which doesn't hold true for long in Bleach). I guess Gege wanted to go down a different route? Maki and Toji would the exception I guess.
The only person left out is Angel. But understandably since we don’t get to see Angel fully reincarnated. But you could use the fact that angel survived her clan’s attack from Sakuna as showing her to be special grade but obviously we don’t know if Angel took part in fighting or ran away.
I think special grade comes down to having a curse technique, your skill with curse energy, your ability to make an army that is grade 1 or higher. If you gave kusakabe a curse technique to me he is immediately potential special grade. I think the most crucial is that it needs to be a combative fighter and have a combative and lethal curse technique. Don't think higaruma can ever get to special grade officially because of this. Only way is like a for sure lethal punishment and to be able to expand his domain to a crazy range
I understand the statements and all, but I think choso could definitely be up there with a little more time or focus. As it stands, he's been using the bare minimum, if not less than what the power system offers, and still managed to get this far.
Great list, really considered everyone. Since special grade isn't a level and requires a "special" attribute, Higuruma is 100% Special grade. All his abilities are crazy. The lawyer themed domain works on everyone unless someone has never done a single bad deed, can confiscate cursed techniques and tools, and a one shot weapon that works on literally the strongest sorcerer ever. Any of these alone would fill the "special" requirement but he has all 3. Also, how do you think heian era domains would interact with modern domains in a clash?
Higuruma’s executioner sword is dependent on how good his physical combat is, which is proven to be not that good. And his domain can also be countered by a good amount of other sorcerers as well. I wouldn’t put him as special grade imo
I've seen it mentioned so many times before by different creators and comments, as in this video at 11:30, but nobody ever explains how this could be... and im talking about Choso and how he developed his techniques for over a hundred years through training *while he was still a cursed womb* in a container. like, how is that even possible? how could he have no battle experience and have that be attributed to that fact that he's been a cursed womb since his conception up until he was finally "born" AFTER Mahito, when thay same explanation would clash with the timeframe of his supposed training? so in reality, he has only existed in his humanoid form for a few months make that make sense, please
Since when could gojos domain target maki? Sukunas domain is physical slashes and It’s explicitly stated that it’s because he can target inanimate objects. So it makes sense they could touch her. Whereas, gojos unlimited void probably wouldn’t work on rocks or a building Or inanimate objects. Maki is a human with a brain tbh but we have no idea how UV works, like does it pour CE into her brain??? I’m sure he could maybe create a binding vow to make it work But as it stands right now she should be immune to it as the sure hit attacks those with CE.
Another reason I don’t think it’ll work is we see megumis soul, not brain per se takes damage from UV in the sukuna fight. We know buildings and rock and machines ect have souls in JJK but I highly doubt he could UV a rock and hurt its soul if it has no CE. So I don’t see why maki can be UV’d

We DO kno how UV works tho. Yes, it pours infinitely repeating information into the brain or I guess you could even say directly into their senses with the Limitless technique. Thats why cursed spirits and humans are affected differently according to Gege because their brains differ from human / sorcerer brains. Anything that has the capacity to “experience” anything can be affected by Unlimited Void, in short.
The only issue is, she should be able to choose whether or not she wants to be in Gojo’s barrier. So if she never enters Gojo’s barrier, she will not be affected by Unlimited Void’s sure hit effect. But if she for whatever reason were to be sealed inside UV, she would suffer the effects of the sure hit.

Another criteria for special grade you didn't consider is how much their CT breaks the laws of jujutsu and norms of jujutsu especially with unfathomable powerful and Complex abilities that defies logic. ↪️ Gojo has the limitless that allows him effect space time with precise manipulation of curse energy on an atomic level. ↪️ Yuki has the ability to manipulate mass and can 1-shot a special grade cursed spirit that has the ability to manipulate concepts, kenjaku even states of the thousands of cursed spirit he had he had none that could stop her and she can manipulate mass to the level where it can even cause a black hole that could have destroyed the world and it seems you slightly underrated her in your clips. ↪️ Yuta has the CT Copy which can copy others sorcerers CTs and rika a super powerful special grade Cursed spirit apparition or shikigami? who was stronger than all curses geto had and would've helped push chances of his plans to 99% success rate and rika is the external storage for yutas copied CT too they're very connected and I think yuta is a descendant of the sugawara and fujiwara elite sorcerers clans and lineage. ↪️ Geto has the ability to use the vaunted and extremely broken CSM that can absorb ANY cursed spirit, harness their domain expansion, harness their CTs and can form an army to conquerer the countries effectively, not having RCT and DE is just GETO being a victim of JJK 0. ↪️ Outside special grades are kenjaku and sukuna and their abilities , CE pool, knowledge, represents all I've said so they very much qualify with the SHRINE CT of sukuna and the body hop kenjaku had and he can still keep CTs of bodies he had possessed before his current one. ↪️ What I feel should be done is create a grade for sorcerers and perhaps characters that have special grade quality abilities but don't meet the rest of the criteria you listed and the one I mentioned uniquely.

The thing about defeating a nation is weird, Yuta could've ended ww2 by himself in a few days by going straight to the head of every politician and army officer in the axis. And still he would've spent more time traveling between countries than actually fighting. Most sorcerers are able of this, they are way faster than any other human and can one shot them without CT even.
ok, I might be wrong here, but I always read special grade as meaning that an industrialised military couldn't reliably take them down. No amount of machine weaponry could get past Gojo's infinity, or hurt rika and geto's special grade curses. That is to say, I think being able to fight other sorcerers has nothing to do with it. Being a threat to the military means you're probably good in a 1v1 too. but being good in a 1v1 doesn't necessarily mean you're a threat to the military. Hakari, maki, yuji etc. are all strong, but they're suited to fight sorcerers, not a fleet of fighter jets
Gojo's domain will not affect maki cos it is a must hit attack just like Naoya's. The reason why sukuna's can affect maki is cos one of the domain's slash specifically targets things without cursed energy (ie objects). This is also why maki is a bad matchup for hakari cos hakari probably needs a target before he can open his DE and Maki (and Toji...lest someone says I'm sexist) are literally regarded as objects as far as domains are concerned
I have an issue with sukuna scaling. the first issue is the "finger" problem which is that we don't know what sukuna's finger's do for him. I have seen 4 mainly 3 argument for what sukuna finger actually do. 1)additive and/or exponential: this is what I think most or the majority of fan's believe. my main issue with this is that any amount of relativity to heian sukuna kind of oversale's everyone in that fight as well it has got better there is still so much vagueness in how weak sukuna is at every stage of fight. this is worse depending weaver you believe the finger's are additive or exponential has if you believe they are exponential then I feel any sukuna scaling becomes personal bais as any argument could be made with in reason. 2) curse energy: every finger just increase sukun's curse energy which mean all physical and CE output have been relatively constituent since the series which fit's more with what is shown in the series. has in both gojo fight's gojo was shown has the physical better to sukuna has well magohaga being basically the same between both fight. also maximum meteor was said to have the ability to damage 15 fingers and a maximum purple did heavily damage sukuna and both have a similar scale of damage on city. 3)they unlock different technics: this basically like number 2) but only that know him having all technics with not enough energy to use but it's reversed. so why do I say this mainly because I find it dishonest when people use sukuna to scale character's to one and other this mainly goes with the argument of sukuna holding back which arguable only happen with higaroma has other wise there is no evidence to support him holding back and even then with higaruma I would argue that he was just not going for the quick instead of holding back. as well as sukuna's pysical stats bacial being consistent through out the fight has maki only leaded major blows while sukuna wasn't focused on her and that yuji only lands blows when other people give him big opening's. where as yuta before domain was equal sukuna physical. while an incomplet rekia was constantly equal sukuna. also yuta rika yuji and maki have all tanked sukunas cleaves.
I feel like the issue with videos like this is they only go over how they compete with other sorcerers and not how they could over throw at least a medium size nation
The reason why nanami is still grade 1 and not like above that like superior grade 1 is because of his lack of domain counters. That's kusakabe is highly praised he has simple domain and skill/knowledge. He also counters melee and close combat which is Mei Mei and nanami bread and butter. I also think he doesn't have that high durability to survive their blows but it would never land
If nanami had a simple domain or domain amplification. Was fast enough to react to mahito he wouldn't have died even injured. Yuki would have saved him. Yes, his sorcerer career is over but he could have gone on vacation after that 😂

Yea, my bad for not including it in the video but it's stated in Chapter 230 Gojo's UV covers everything inside the domain. In other words instead of the barrier targetting you it just fills up the barrier and attacks anything not touching Gojo.

During the time skip Yuji got a better reinforcement, blood manipulation, more awareness of the soul and ate numerous cursed objects, which would make him surpass his pre time skip version and thus be above someone he was relative to on the past Despite that, Maki is still considered as his superior after the time skip because of the heavy hitters statement, which means that Maki got a buff that outclasses or equals what Yuji got
I think Fumihiko Takaba could fit the category of potential special grade. His cursed technique, Comedian, is said to have the potential to be on par with Gojo. However, Takaba is clueless about his own power. That being said, Takaba does have some interesting things going for him. He is able to heal himself without use of a reverse cursed technique after he got swarmed by several of Kenjaku's curses. He can also generate all sorts of phenomena based on stuff he finds to be funny. Using this ability and awakening himself, Takaba exorcised Akuro-O Otake (one of 16 registered special grade curses) using a truck he created just for a gag and made several comedic simulations that included actual, breathing people. His cursed technique also made Kenjaku take damage over time during these simulations. That being said, Yuta finished the job because while Takaba can make people take damage over time during his simulations, he can't outright kill them. Despite that, I feel Takaba fits the criteria to be a potential special grade because of his cursed technique and given potential. Though, you can also make the argument of saying he doesn't fit the bill.
His ct isn’t said to be on par with gojo. It’s said it can effect gojo, or more like gojo’s ct can’t defend agaisnt it so he needs to find loopholes around it just like kenjaku did

But the problem with takaba is that technically speaking his ct is probably the most broken one lol, his ct is literally reality manipulation. But he just doesn’t find killing people funny, so technically he can’t ever win a battle in a way. A Special Grade Sorcerer is a sorcerer with unusual abilities, not a domain. Yuji has multiple unusual abilities and thus qualifies to be a Special Grade.
Maki isn’t affected by gojo’s domain it has a barrier and doesn’t rlly have a technique that attacks objects so don’t think maki would get hit. BUT I do think gojo could easily change the conditions of his domains to target maki

I do not think yuji is the only one to awaken from a black flash. From what todo implies there is a difference between people who landed one and haven't its very implied who ever lands a black flash reaches a new ceiling of power and awakens.
My only problem with Yuji is that it’s really hard to scale him to anyone. All of his fights since Mahito have had either inconclusive results, or he’s fighting someone massively stronger than him with help. Not saying he isn’t Special Grade. Simply that of everyone here, he’s unironically the hardest to get a read on where he scales
I feel like their should just be grades of special. Special grade 3, 2, and 1, with people like gojo and higaruma as 1 and someone like yuji at a 3 until he gets a bit stronger. Sukuna should be considered a Grade 0 maybe? Just overwhelming with a divine technique
Personally, I don’t think anyone outside of the 4 special grades named by the series is special grade. I kinda like Kenny’s definition the best with a little bit of interpretation from the higher ups added in. Gojo and Geto are pretty easily national level when it comes to output of destruction. Yuki can also create a blackhole which can basically nuke a nation. (Even tho this will kill her). The most debatable special grade imo is Yuta, bc the way he uses Rika’s unlimited CE is kinda iffy. I guess if he has acccess to it then i guess he has the potential. Which is okay. But i don’t think anyone else is close to these 4.
All the 4 special grades can beat every human or army that gets thrown at them. So yuki doesn’t need to user her black hole since her ct hits is like throwing the Empire State Building at someone. And yuta’s copy ct is broken as well.

Think about it. He hasn’t fought anyone else but a weakened Sukuna. I’m not saying he can’t beat some of the special grade characters we’ve seen like Ryu, Uro, Base Kashimo and etc but it’s hard to gauge where Yuji is at when he hasn’t had an actual strong opponent to beat post Shibuya.
He can use blood manipulation but he can’t use convergence. He has soul punches that seemingly weaken your output but if you have a ct that can keep him at a distance it’s rendered useless. He has RCT but hasn’t mastered it fully and he needed Choso’s guidance to help him heal.
@@BeastBoy557 when it comes to the healing thing I didn’t interpret that as Yuji not being able to properly heal, rather he was in such an intense battle that in order to stay in it he kinda had to cut corners and that wound up catching up to him. Choso was there to basically tell him to pop a mini shield.
Like he’s survived 4 lethal attacks and regrown entire parts of his torso and a world slash. If that’s not advanced RCT idk what is, admittedly he doesn’t have many fights to scale him off of, but he’s damn near always part of a group fight. You can scale him based on how he performs with his ally’s. It’s been repeatedly stated that if someone is significantly stronger than their ally then the weaker one will be nothing but a burden.
Yuji was shown moving on par with Maki all the way back in chapter 215 and more recently was able to move like a dynamic duo with Yuta.
You don’t get as precise scaling this way but you do get a clear idea of general power level. It could be argued that Yujis the weakest of the special grades(I disagree but not the point) but regardless I find it hard to believe people with functioning braincells think Yuji isn’t at that level

I would list anyone with these skills to be special grade
- Can defend against/survive an almost countless number of bullets and missiles
- Has some way to eliminate even the most defensive and bulky of tanks
- Has some way to eliminate aircrafts
- Has enough stamina to constantly reinforce themselves with cursed energy for at least 24 hours up to a whole week depending on their travel speed (since if you’re really slow it’ll take you longer to travel and take over a whole nation)
Don't forget RCT. It doesn't matter how strong you are if you'll get worn down over time and don't have a way of healing the chip damage.

They're special grade not just because of their power but mostly because they're walking disasters that either break the laws of physics or can kill immense amounts of people easily. Maki and Hakari aren't special because they're just strong in 1v1s.
We have a dude that can't be hit and can mind rape everyone instantly. A guy who can summon a seemingly limitless amount of dangerous curses assuming he has prep. The grading system needs to be revisited imo since some of the requirements are pretty vague. But if we do go by the current system we should at least add a new tier between Grade 1 and Special Grade. People like Maki, Yuji, Kashimo, and Hakari would be in this new in between rank. They just don’t have the combination of permanent power plus hax/ strong techniques that Special grades have. Sukuna, Gojo, Kenny, Yuki, and Yuta should really be the only Special Grades.
I somewhat agree with yuji and kashimo but hakari and maki is crazy they both have amazing hax with jackpot and heavenly restriction along with stats on the level of special grades such as Yuta and yuki there techniques may not have good one shot potentially but they both shine in there own way with a literally the best defensive ability besides infinity with jackpot and maki being able to go in and out of domain with crazy stats and soul split all around maki has permanent power on that level well hakari may not after the first jackpot he basically never stops hitting then till the fight is over
I think it could be split into 3 leagues of special grade if you put them by large power gaps, with anyone 2 or above able to wipe out a whole country, but 3 can throw hands with a special grade 2 and survive through attack power, survivability, but especially utility and how the plot would write it out.
Special grade 3
Hakari, kashimo(once he mythic beasts), Higuruma, Iori Hazenoki(explosive eyeball guy), Fumihiko Takaba, Takako uro(sky technique), Ryu Ishigori (dessert guy), Dhruv (curse guy yuta killed). These guys, with an assist from a decently handy grade 1 would be able to beat any of eachother, so they are more or less equal.
and finally, Maki.
Special grade 2
Kenjaku, Yuta, arguably you could upgrade ryu or hakari into here. Yuji might be there with the latest blackflash too. He'll surpass them once he masters the true nature of his cursed energy and his technique.
Special grade 1
Sukuna, Gojo.
I don't put maki on yuta's level because I believe yuta or kenjaku are stronger than teen gojo, even if after awakening red toji still considered he had a chance to win.
I think toji's assessment was correct, as gege makes gojo use purple there to basically say "true, but he didn't think of that" in a litterary author sense.
Regardless I think yuta's surpassed teen gojo what with controlling his CT so well, but especially - Rika. Teen gojo wasn't even half as powerfull as current gojo, but rika is said and shown to be stronger than disaster curses, which are like 1/5th as strong as sukuna or gojo at peak. So without underestimating rika or yuta relative to rika, he'd clearly be stronger than teen gojo with red - and therefore stronger than maki by a decent bit.
Maki and Toji are similar then she's definitely special grade. Since toji took down 2 special grades back to back

The only time Maki used Tojis style was in a group battle but that doesn't count as in a group battle the opponent can't pay attention to everyone. As we can see when she 1v1 Sukuna she literally ran up to him in his line of sight . When we saw Toji he literally f with you line of sight by using his speed to step in and out of your sight and sweeping people of their feet . If makie and Toji where to 1v1 Maki would straight up lose because Toji fighting style is superior as he uses the space around him better.
0:49 Geto is capable of RCT...he mentions this after Yuta goes and heals his friends, which gives him enough time to recover. "Healing requires an advanced Reverse Cursed Technique. Distracting you gives me time."
Given the fact that he doesn't use it in battle and that it takes time for him to heal, it's likely that he isn't proficient in RCT like Gojo and Yuta are.
geto doesnt use rct, he was mentioning that to yuta who's healing the others. Geto had no reason to use rct since he didnt even get injured, he wasn't hurt. If anything he would've used it either in battle or after if he actually did know how to use it, but he didnt

I think the only domain we're told that can actually see Marki would be sukuna people just put gojo's up there because he's that strong but that doesn't mean his domain will suddenly sense her. Well done man and thinking about how to rank someone as special grade, I think it's not so much the size of the country that we should think about but the amount of power required to submit the entire armed forces of a nation. It's not about the size, it's just the idea of a one-man-army. That's what a special grade is, Sorcerers who have techniques that essentially turn them into a one-man-army. The Vatican is small but it is one of the most heavily fortified and secured cities in the world with crazy military backup. Some larger countries would be easier to conquer because their forces are more spread out, have less firepower, less specially trained soldiers, fewer artillery and defences or have a generally weaker army. Israel is one of the smallest countries in the world but they have one of the strongest militaries in the world. It would be difficult for any country to wage war with them single-handedly and win.
It's about which Sorcerers can face like 10,000 soldiers, fighter jets, artillery, modern satellite tracking, drone strikes, bombing, etc alone and win.
The ability to destroy the world if given the chance is what makes a sorcerer special grade

while i agree that they can be relative to the special grades (at least talking on the kind of fights shown on the manga, so basicly 1v1, 2v1 etc), i don't know if they fit the requisite stated by kenjaku (to have the capacity to overtake a country), but at the same time would be a little weird that in theory maybe a grade 1 sorcerer could be more fitted than a special grade on a 1v1 (always bet on hakari)

Good analysis my dude, no wanking, little downplays. I feel like JJK's grading really struggles due to the only relevant ranks being first and special, but there's a massive gap between bottom and top grade 1s. Like you got kusakabe and Choso, and then Nobara was recommended for grade 1. Like nobara is decently strong. But I feel like at this point in the narrative she would be as far away from Choso, as Choso is from Yuta. And then there's a whole ass yuta worth of distance between yuta and gojo.
I will gladly support a Grade 0, just to break it up a bit. With hakari being the top of Grade 0(only not SG because he NEEDS to get that first domain off without dying, and I simply don't think he has the physicals in base to survive most other SG) and like, Naobito being the bottom. This would also be a good spot for Cursed spirits like the finger bearers.

The thing is, they can go on par with SP, but they can never be Special Grades bcause they lack the firepower to be able to do so.
For Ex. Maki can fight Yuki, (Yuki will beat her let's be real) but Maki can't overthrow a country like Yuki.
Yuki can just straight up create city level earthquakes by just jumping up and down, and can throw Garuda at immense speeds and so much mass she basically creates a Meteor equal to that of Chelyabinsk every damn time.
If we're really stretching this, Uraume can be counted SP if her Ice Technique can freeze an entire country or cause an ice age, but she can't.
Currently i think only 7 characters on the show qualifies as SP,
Gojo, Sukuna, Kenjaku (Geto), Yuki, Yuta, Yorozu and Kashimo (CT).
To be fair, the grades are just there to assign sorcerers to appropriate missions. Not to mention, curse technique matchups play an important role in a fight making the grading system somewhat vague.
being a certain grade means that you can easily take out curses of that same grade. this means that grade 1 sorcerers can also beat weaker special grades, albeit with some difficulty.
It is interesting that Gege didn't just go down the route of someone being Special Grade level if they can do Domain Expansion. Go the Bleach route of only people who have Bankai can be Captains or in this case Special Grade with Domain Expansions. (which doesn't hold true for long in Bleach). I think special grade comes down to having a curse technique, your skill with curse energy, your ability to make an army that is grade 1 or higher. If you gave kusakabe a curse technique to me he is immediately potential special grade. I think the most crucial is that it needs to be a combative fighter and have a combative and lethal curse technique. Don't think higaruma can ever get to special grade officially because of this. Only way is like a for sure lethal punishment and to be able to expand his domain to a crazy range

Great list, really considered everyone. Since special grade isn't a level and requires a "special" attribute, Higuruma is 100% Special grade. All his abilities are crazy. The lawyer themed domain works on everyone unless someone has never done a single bad deed, can confiscate cursed techniques and tools, and a one shot weapon that works on literally the strongest sorcerer ever. Any of these alone would fill the "special" requirement but he has all 3. Also, how do you think heian era domains would interact with modern domains in a clash?
Higuruma’s executioner sword is dependent on how good his physical combat is, which is proven to be not that good. And his domain can also be countered by a good amount of other sorcerers as well. I wouldn’t put him as special grade imo

Since when could gojos domain target maki? Sukunas domain is physical slashes and It’s explicitly stated that it’s because he can target inanimate objects. So it makes sense they could touch her. Whereas, gojos unlimited void probably wouldn’t work on rocks or a building Or inanimate objects. Maki is a human with a brain tbh but we have no idea how UV works, like does it pour CE into her brain???
I’m sure he could maybe create a binding vow to make it work But as it stands right now she should be immune to it as the sure hit attacks those with CE.
Another reason I don’t think it’ll work is we see megumis soul, not brain per se takes damage from UV in the sukuna fight. We know buildings and rock and machines ect have souls in JJK but I highly doubt he could UV a rock and hurt its soul if it has no CE. So I don’t see why maki can be UV’d

We DO kno how UV works tho. Yes, it pours infinitely repeating information into the brain or I guess you could even say directly into their senses with the Limitless technique. Thats why cursed spirits and humans are affected differently according to Gege because their brains differ from human / sorcerer brains.

The only issue is, she should be able to choose whether or not she wants to be in Gojo’s barrier. So if she never enters Gojo’s barrier, she will not be affected by Unlimited Void’s sure hit effect. But if she for whatever reason were to be sealed inside UV, she would suffer the effects of the sure hit.

Another criteria for special grade you didn't consider is how much their CT breaks the laws of jujutsu and norms of jujutsu especially with unfathomable powerful and Complex abilities that defies logic.

The thing about defeating a nation is weird, Yuta could've ended ww2 by himself in a few days by going straight to the head of every politician and army officer in the axis. And still he would've spent more time traveling between countries than actually fighting.
Most sorcerers are able of this, they are way faster than any other human and can one shot them without CT even.
ok, I might be wrong here, but I always read special grade as meaning that an industrialised military couldn't reliably take them down. No amount of machine weaponry could get past Gojo's infinity, or hurt rika and geto's special grade curses. That is to say, I think being able to fight other sorcerers has nothing to do with it. Being a threat to the military means you're probably good in a 1v1 too. but being good in a 1v1 doesn't necessarily mean you're a threat to the military. Hakari, maki, yuji etc. are all strong, but they're suited to fight sorcerers, not a fleet of fighter jets
Gojo's domain will not affect maki cos it is a must hit attack just like Naoya's. The reason why sukuna's can affect maki is cos one of the domain's slash specifically targets things without cursed energy (ie objects).
This is also why maki is a bad matchup for hakari cos hakari probably needs a target before he can open his DE and Maki (and Toji...lest someone says I'm sexist) are literally regarded as objects as far as domains are concerned
I have an issue with sukuna scaling. the first issue is the "finger" problem which is that we don't know what sukuna's finger's do for him. I have seen 4 mainly 3 argument for what sukuna finger actually do.
1)additive and/or exponential: this is what I think most or the majority of fan's believe. my main issue with this is that any amount of relativity to heian sukuna kind of oversale's everyone in that fight as well it has got better there is still so much vagueness in how weak sukuna is at every stage of fight. this is worse depending weaver you believe the finger's are additive or exponential has if you believe they are exponential then I feel any sukuna scaling becomes personal bais as any argument could be made with in reason.
2) curse energy: every finger just increase sukun's curse energy which mean all physical and CE output have been relatively constituent since the series which fit's more with what is shown in the series. has in both gojo fight's gojo was shown has the physical better to sukuna has well magohaga being basically the same between both fight. also maximum meteor was said to have the ability to damage 15 fingers and a maximum purple did heavily damage sukuna and both have a similar scale of damage on city.
3)they unlock different technics: this basically like number 2) but only that know him having all technics with not enough energy to use but it's reversed.
so why do I say this mainly because I find it dishonest when people use sukuna to scale character's to one and other this mainly goes with the argument of sukuna holding back which arguable only happen with higaroma has other wise there is no evidence to support him holding back and even then with higaruma I would argue that he was just not going for the quick instead of holding back. as well as sukuna's pysical stats bacial being consistent through out the fight has maki only leaded major blows while sukuna wasn't focused on her and that yuji only lands blows when other people give him big opening's. where as yuta before domain was equal sukuna physical. while an incomplet rekia was constantly equal sukuna. also yuta rika yuji and maki have all tanked sukunas cleaves.
I feel like the issue with videos like this is they only go over how they compete with other sorcerers and not how they could over throw at least a medium size nation
The reason why nanami is still grade 1 and not like above that like superior grade 1 is because of his lack of domain counters. That's kusakabe is highly praised he has simple domain and skill/knowledge. He also counters melee and close combat which is Mei Mei and nanami bread and butter. I also think he doesn't have that high durability to survive their blows but it would never land
If nanami had a simple domain or domain amplification. Was fast enough to react to mahito he wouldn't have died even injured. Yuki would have saved him. Yes, his sorcerer career is over but he could have gone on vacation after that 😂

Yea, my bad for not including it in the video but it's stated in Chapter 230 Gojo's UV covers everything inside the domain. In other words instead of the barrier targetting you it just fills up the barrier and attacks anything not touching Gojo.

Pre time skip Yuji while damaged showed relative speed to her against Sukuna. During the time skip Yuji got a better reinforcement, blood manipulation, more awareness of the soul and ate numerous cursed objects, which would make him surpass his pre time skip version and thus be above someone he was relative to on the past
Despite that, Maki is still considered as his superior after the time skip because of the heavy hitters statement, which means that Maki got a buff that outclasses or equals what Yuji got
I think Fumihiko Takaba could fit the category of potential special grade. His cursed technique, Comedian, is said to have the potential to be on par with Gojo. However, Takaba is clueless about his own power. That being said, Takaba does have some interesting things going for him. He is able to heal himself without use of a reverse cursed technique after he got swarmed by several of Kenjaku's curses. He can also generate all sorts of phenomena based on stuff he finds to be funny. Using this ability and awakening himself, Takaba exorcised Akuro-O Otake (one of 16 registered special grade curses) using a truck he created just for a gag and made several comedic simulations that included actual, breathing people. His cursed technique also made Kenjaku take damage over time during these simulations. That being said, Yuta finished the job because while Takaba can make people take damage over time during his simulations, he can't outright kill them. Despite that, I feel Takaba fits the criteria to be a potential special grade because of his cursed technique and given potential. Though, you can also make the argument of saying he doesn't fit the bill.
His ct isn’t said to be on par with gojo. It’s said it can effect gojo, or more like gojo’s ct can’t defend agaisnt it so he needs to find loopholes around it just like kenjaku did

But higuruma, as smart as hes confirmed to be, his ct even tho it’s very very useful as well, can be countered by more powerful techniques like sukuna and gojo obviously, and yuta and maki. But the problem with takaba is that technically speaking his ct is probably the most broken one lol, his ct is literally reality manipulation. But he just doesn’t find killing people funny, so technically he can’t ever win a battle in a way. Not sure if his lack of understanding of his own ct is a vow or just the nature of his ct, kind of like that miracles guy in shibuya
Yuji has maxed out stats in everything except cursed teq and domains his physicals are on par with maki his special traits are on par with kashimos and his rct and cursed energy supply and efficiency can keep up with yuta hes a beast
A Special Grade Sorcerer is a sorcerer with unusual abilities, not a domain. Yuji has multiple unusual abilities and thus qualifies to be a Special Grade.

I do not think yuji is the only one to awaken from a black flash. From what todo implies there is a difference between people who landed one and haven't its very implied who ever lands a black flash reaches a new ceiling of power and awakens.
My only problem with Yuji is that it’s really hard to scale him to anyone. All of his fights since Mahito have had either inconclusive results, or he’s fighting someone massively stronger than him with help. Not saying he isn’t Special Grade. Simply that of everyone here, he’s unironically the hardest to get a read on where he scales

Personally, I don’t think anyone outside of the 4 special grades named by the series is special grade. I kinda like Kenny’s definition the best with a little bit of interpretation from the higher ups added in. Gojo and Geto are pretty easily national level when it comes to output of destruction. Yuki can also create a blackhole which can basically nuke a nation. (Even tho this will kill her). The most debatable special grade imo is Yuta, bc the way he uses Rika’s unlimited CE is kinda iffy. I guess if he has acccess to it then i guess he has the potential. Which is okay. But i don’t think anyone else is close to these 4.
All the 4 special grades can beat every human or army that gets thrown at them. So yuki doesn’t need to user her black hole since her ct hits is like throwing the Empire State Building at someone. And yuta’s copy ct is broken as well.
