      The majority of folks who can afford the top tier clothing lines are white...
      I thought the models were hired just to model the item...
      It is a business...
      But ultimately black people have the money to start up their own lines of cloths..
      Black need to stop relying on white... white...
      Just open your own business etc...
      Black do not need justification but from the lord to go forth...

      Black people have forgotten they had the power all along...

    She is the most relevant voice in fashion. I'm confused about the reason why it's Always black leaders who have to speak and really fight this way for diversity (as if the unity of human kind was our specific problem, when it's a wordly topics actually). Every type of human should be able to speak unapologitically, straight forward and do this job.

    The thing is diversity is not only “women if colour”. There are different shades of white as well. The most prominent is and always have been the northern type (blue eyes, blue hair). White person from Spain, Greece or Poland is different than a white from uk or Sweden. Same for the Asian and black culture. Black from Nigeria is different than black from Barbados. And this has to be taken into account when talking about diversity

    • @CHPYXO
      @CHPYXO 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lmfao you're trying to sound smart but it all falls apart when you think about it. The fact is, most cave folk have blue eyes and blonde hair. And it doesn't matter what type of cave you are, you're literally the most represented everywhere, anywhere, and that includes the cave folk from Spain, Greece and Portugal. Y'all are literally the same people lol. Also ''black from nigeria'' talk about being racist lol. We're not a ''black from here and there'' we are black PEOPLE. And we're not a culture, we're humans. And a black person from Nigeria has the same features as a black person from Barbados lmfao. Same wide features, dark skin and kinky hair. Try again.

      Diversity refers to the point that people should be represented regardless of class, gender, race etc. Most only find difficulty when some, under the guise of politics, push their prejudiced opinions. Last time i checked my white relatives biggest problem was other white people. Not all white people though. Just the ones that fucked them over.
      Its almost as if whether or not one is white or black is a result of our ancestors distance from the equator and literally nothing at all to do with culture or identity.
      I mean seriously what kind of moron takes themselves being white or black as part of their identity. The historically illiterate is who.

      Alkamist Or prejudice is a human condition that is found where ever human beings exist or have existed to some degree or other. And then once you throw in the history of people acting on this (colonialism, slavery, genocide, dislocation) we develop specific cultures and a kind of societal emotional baggage that orientate around the specifics of whatever’s happened locally.
      The fact people can’t get their heads around this blows my mind. I mean its so obviously reductionist to talk like this about Africa and the attitudes, and reasons for them, of the peoples of Africa. Its really stunningly arrogant and asinine. And interestingly people only seem to do this with Africa. Few dumb arses seem to be running around acting like you can summarise the reasons for prejudice in all of South America in such an asinine way.
      I mean whats the point of learning anything about anything at all if this is how people think. I mean for fucks sake one of the principle awful consequences of colonialism in Africa was the forcing a nation state on disparate peoples. Which often have an intrinsic power imbalance, look at the Zulus in south Africa relative to the Xhosa for just one of literally hundreds of examples. One of the principle reasons this was a bad idea with awful ongoing consequences is because people are inclined to kill each other over these kind of differences. I.e bigotry. Not good enough? Look at the recorded examples of prejudice going back into prehistory. How do you blame that on Europeans, Africans or whomever.
      Thats not to say there’s no examples of learnt racism. Or western created and imposed racial hierarchies. Look at Liberia. Look at British India. The list goes on. And on. And on. Look at the Saami (white people) being discriminated against by the Scandinavians (also quite white) or the Roma. Or the innumerate peoples (mostly white) who were colonised by the creation of the Russian empire. Look at the degree to which Abysinians enslaved other Africans until they were stopped by the British. Who then racistly oppressed them in turn. The east african slave trade. The crusades, including the one into modern day Estonia.The plethora of different historical and contemporary reasons and examples for a degree of societal prejudice is incalculable.
      And its so intrinsically intellectually disingenuous that people ignore all these examples of prejudice that don’t fit this (largely american) white and black narrative. I meanow many people give a fuck about whats happening in west papua or in west sahara? Sweet fuck all. Why is it even if a developed nation is dropping fucking phosphorous on protesting civilians in an illegally occupied country it doesn’t matter to anybody? Could it be because people are more likely to click on news stories where they can get on their high horse about this kind of shit?
      Point being bigotry and hatred of ‘the other’ has always been with us. And it always will be to some degree or other. And we all collectively need to educate ourselves out of thinking in such black and white terms and measure our rhetoric more carefully. As it seems to me we’re going backwards right now. From the Rohingya to African Americans and American migrants to the Increasing acceptance of prejudice along the lines of socio economic class in western countries. And in large part its because the people who spend their time vocalising their strongly held views on this stuff actually aren’t well informed at all. They’re just parrots, parroting shit other uninformed people have said before then.
      Sorry for the rant its more aimed at the other guys in this thread who are far more smug and racist than yourself. But i aint really got time for any of those verbal false limbs like ‘hurt people, hurt people’ or acting as if there’s a singular racist ideology. I wish you were right. Sincerely i wish more than anything this was that simple. But it aint and thats why its so international and so important to know the specifics of a specific racist dynamic so we can hopefully tick them off one at a time.

    A landmark 2002 study by Stanford scientists examined the question of human diversity by looking at the distribution across seven major geographical regions of 4,000 alleles. Alleles are the different “flavors” of a gene. For instance, all humans have the same genes that code for hair: the different alleles are why hair comes in all types of colors and textures.
    In the Stanford study, over 92% of alleles were found in two or more regions, and almost half of the alleles studied were present in all seven major geographical regions. The observation that the vast majority of the alleles were shared over multiple regions, or even throughout the entire world, points to the fundamental similarity of all people around the world-an idea that has been supported by many other studies (Figure 1B).
    If separate racial or ethnic groups actually existed, we would expect to find “trademark” alleles and other genetic features that are characteristic of a single group but not present in any others. However, the 2002 Stanford study found that only 7.4% of over 4000 alleles were specific to one geographical region. Furthermore, even when region-specific alleles did appear, they only occurred in about 1% of the people from that region-hardly enough to be any kind of trademark. Thus, there is no evidence that the groups we commonly call “races” have distinct, unifying genetic identities. In fact, there is ample variation within races (Figure 1B).
    Ultimately, there is so much ambiguity between the races, and so much variation within them, that two people of European descent may be more genetically similar to an Asian person for example, than they are to each other (Figure 2).

    • @loveroflife8107
      @loveroflife8107 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      benbow7 Different ethnicities DO have different characteristics, that is not what scientists say. Of course we can see different physical characteristics within different races, it’s called phenotypes. Phenotypes evolved to suit different environments. Some of these differences are in single genes (alleles). Huge things such as personality is controlled by hundreds of genes and that is where there is no race specific differences.
