the fact that booster runs you over with an explosive train and then starts celebrating is too funny
you know you're screwed when a FF villain starts a count down
Wouldn't that be so funny if someone with a gun gave their victims a countdown
As a ff4 player, this is true. And when a boss decides to skip a countdown and go straight for the megaflair, you are royally fucked.
lol I was proud i made short work of 3D Culex at lvl 22.. of course Ryukahr friggin does it at 18
It makes more sense for Culex to use Meteor as it was the most powerful spell in FFIV.
Meteor damage calculation is "Max HP"-1 is which is such a pain
And yes Culex has 9999 HP
Which means if you don't HAVE FULL HP instead of leaving you with 1 HP left it just KILLS you OUTRIGHT while you can't LAZY Shell armor against it Peach won't really survive the 4 Crystals SPELLS without it.
Why is no one wondering about the teamwork band? ... what I'm wondering is How in TF did he get a Teamwork Band before the secret bosses? Not that it's that great of an item. But, I thought you only get it from the Triple Move Jinx rematch, which is I think like the 6th secret boss!? Wth?
@@jamesmiranda1449You can rematch jinx before this point, don't know exactly when but I beat him before punchinello
@@jamesmiranda1449He was the first fight I did. I believe the bosses can be done in any order.
Fun thing. If you kill Culex 3D while the crystals are still up he’ll sacrifice them and revive.
Thank goodness that didn’t happen to me when I fought him, I would’ve had a heart attack lol
@@verdethestarwarrior1088 I nearly did when it happened to me. Thought I’d won then, just for him to pull out the uno reverse card. I still beat him, it just took 5-6 more turns.
the pure agony of watching him having opportunity to use the maro/mallo/peach to full raise/heal all 5 members and him not doing it is blood curling.
@@theredknight9314the fight is less challenging the higher level you are for the fight. Like Culex 3D is very manageable at level 30. But can probably be done around 18+ without too much issue. It’ll just take longer.
Fun Fact: The star egg that you win in the casino does 100 damage ignoring defense on every enemy except the Punchinello super boss who for some reason is immune even with multiple damage buffs it does 0 damage to him but it still hits 100 on his bob-omb minions.
It also does 150 if the character is wearing a Quartz Charm or even using an Attack Boost.
Its about a month late. But @1:49:00 to answer bilal32155 question, us SNES gamers got the signal ring much later in the game than the switch version. And with no internet and lacking a game guide magazine for the game. We retraced our steps, and explored the game.
Sad to see that he didn't stay too many nights at the hotel and be forced to work there, as a bell hop, but maybe that is only a thing we SNES players know about! 😉

Culex: check out my new form
14:02 I'm surprised no one made a pun about Booster's engine being the hype train lmao
Culex is Ultimecia from Final Fantasy VIII swallowing time and space, all existence denied!
That booster fight was so funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂
i think the gimmick behind punchinello refight is just simply "perfect" timed hits, it can't be a normal timed hit or else the bombs won't turn around, you can tell a perfect timed one not just if it does AoE damage but also if the main target's damage number has a splash background on it. might be good to know if some reason there a speedrun to also include the super bosses.
@@mathewg1747 ah, i made that rather confusing thinking about it. I don't mean splash damage itself but the flashy effect on the dmg number indicating it was a perfect timed hit. Now I not sure how much damage you do matters but from the vid, it really seem like perfect timed hits were the only time it worked so I was going by that.
@@Dorumon21it's a certain amount, but I don't know the amount. I turned around two with splash damage because I attacked one expecting to turn it around earlier and it didn't.attacked the second one by habit and the splash turned the first around too

I mean Ryu fought these post game bosses AT LEVEL 18
You gotta give respect for the determination😂❤
Favorite moment of the video?
Definitely 27:35
I used the lucky bag during my first fight with culex. almost 500xp after the fight. Had 2 level ups for like 4 people. Grate's "look the other way" game at the casino needs to be won 100 times to get the star egg. If you're going for 100% completion then there you go. Takes forever but it's a fun little reward.
Ryukahr has surprised pikachu face that Blackjack is no longer in the a Mario game.
You need 12 points to win the juggle game and get the bright card. Every correct guess is +1, every incorrect is -1. This didn't change from the original.
He beat Bundt without casting sleep on the chefs. Them sleeping before the battle was the hint. But I guess it doesn't matter either way
I did not get the hint and barely survived by using red essence the last two times.
I found out that similar to the original fight, your normal attack blows out a candle each time. So I just melee'd the cake before he could beam me
Dude I didn’t even think about lazy shell for the Johnny fight.
I just kept doing it until I got good enough to perfect block every attack
14:04 - WHAT THE FU-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! 💥😵😵😵
I beat Johnny with the lazy shell armor. I just had to learn how to block the majority of his attacks. Culex 3D was the real deal.
This entire remake was pure awesomeness.
Culex 3D being the true final boss of the game is the best. He’s a Final Fantasy styled character, he is a “pretty boy” similar in that regard to Sephiroth lol.
There was two extra bosses you missed though, Belome has a rechallenge along with Jinx as well, and Belome gives the most powerful weapon to Mallow
he already done it at the end of its second video on the primary channel
27:35 "One turn choo-choo fuck" 😭
Feels like the Culex fight could just be cheesed by swapping out to dead guys whenever the Meteor goes off. Just make sure Peach is alive on the bench when it hits, then swap back.
it's set to deal (max HP - 1) damage so she has to be at full HP to survive it, w/o question. "Spare us all" and Red essences can survive it too, but "shredder" going to get rid of those. Also if a crystal can act before you get a turn after meteor goes off, you're likely to be screwed anyway. And she can only go to the back line if at least one other character besides Mario is still standing.
Final claw though? 9999 damage every time it hurts you so you have to block it (which might be frame perfect) or have a way to nullify damage.
Wow! Hope the 100 jump challenge comes back, at least as a short! XD
Bowser has a huge chain ⛓️
And an even bigger chomp!
Booster told Valentina his big mouth will gobble up her blue waffle til her bird head pops off 😅
My strategy to beat Culex 3D was I relied mostly on Geno and Peach. Geno i gave the zoom shoes and made sure he was fast as hell. With Geno i was able to outspeed the Crystals assuring i’d go first and I made sure that no matter what, I kept Peach alive since she’s the healer.
Every time Culex 3D’s countdown reached 0 my triple move gauge would always reach 100% and I’d use the triple move between Mario, Peach and Geno which created a shield around my party protecting them from Culex 3D’s one hit KO attack. My gauge always filled up to 100% every time Culex 3D’s countdown reached 0 so I just continued this pattern until I beat him 😎
I would love for them to make another. New super mario rpg 2
Everyone does, they will never do it unfortunately. Just remakes and more Mario world recycles
I should have left the system on remake! He looks so awesome in this one. Honestly I got lucky, I kept two members down and he never locked my buttons. He eventually ran out of FP and it was basically a free for all till he died. Strange
That was pretty nice Ryuu. Tho will you come back with a final fantasy VI randomizer soon???
@@ryukahr What is the next thing you will speed run!? Will you speed run Super Mario rpg!?
The voice acting is just perfect
fun fact: if all the crystals are dead and culex's countdown reaches 0, he uses final claw which instantly killes one of you party members
I finally managed to beat 3d Culex without lazy shell (as armor, I’m still giving Mario his best weapon), and I implore you, if you’re looking for a challenge, do it, I was level 30 when I fought him and my whole team had over 200 hp, and it still took quite a few tries to beat him. Also, whatever you do, don’t forget about your red essences and group healing items
There are only two modes. Hard mode is not an option. The OG SNES version had one mode and this mode added a new mode called, 'breezy(aka easy)mode".
That countdown during the Culex 3D battle is absolutely terrifying. For anyone that wants to know some important facts before going in, when the crystals are still alive and the countdown reaches zero, Culex will use the Meteor attack which leaves your entire current party with 1 health remaining, you NEED to have full HP if you wanna survive it though, and if all the crystals are down when the countdown reaches zero, Culex will use an attack called Final Claw which instantly kills one party member, but you CAN block it with good enough timing. Also, Wind Crystal is weak to Mario's jump attack, Fire Crystal is weak to ice, Water Crystal is weak to fire, I believe, and the Earth Crystal is weak to thunder. Culex himself has no weaknesses, and has a whopping 9,999 HP (or 8,999 in Breezy Mode).
Culex will give you a Crystal Shard when you defeat him, which doesn't do anything, you can't equip it on anyone and you can't use it during battles, but you can go back and fight him again, over and over, as many times as you want.
Oh, one more thing, the crystals give the rest of the remaining enemies a different buff when they die. Wind Crystal gives Nimble Force, which increases speed, Fire Crystal gives Vigor Force, which gives an attack boost, Water Crystal gives Magic Force, which gives a magic boost, and the Earth Crystal gives Valor Force, which increases defense.
14:00 perfection
Ryu stifling a laugh at Johnny wanting to cross swords sent me lol
52:30 So good.
The speed stat is CRUCIAL for the Booster fight, if it's too low you will get no chance to interrupt him.
@theredknight9314 Speed doesn't actually raise with level, only with Accessories.
@@DeckKnight i was referring to his speed. I was just meaning in general
and if its too low Culex 3D will use Meteor to leave all 3 party members with 1 HP left only to KILL THEM all with Petal Blast IN the same turn BEFORE you get a SINGLE attack off/turn.
Absolutely pog that you put a spoiler in the thumbnail.
I'd have loved for them to use Zeromus's theme for the fight with 3D Culex to go with his upgraded form, but oh well.
Just realized that if you have Geno in your starting party when fighting booster, he can do Geno Whirl that deals 9999 damage to the guys who do moral support. You have to time the A button right.
You can also just hit booster every round and it’ll stop him from ever using the train.
So i just fought Culex and was wondering how you did. I leveled all my guys to 30 and got the attack scarf as well, jumping 30 straight times for it sucked so bad. Now i here there's a better item for 100 times, yeah no thank you.
I got frusterated in the first few attempts against Culex because they kept doing four straight turns of unstoppable attacks. It was bad enough the fight starts with a meteor attack that leaves everybody with 1 hp. I was easily fed up. In my fifth attempt i finally got through that and then realized that i had to switch Geno and Peach out before the meteor hit. So at two i would pull Peach out and the Geno. Bowser and Mallow unfortunatly were out so i kept Mario, Peach, and Geno as the go-tos. So when he hits it all he does is knock out Mario. Come back, revive him with peach. Rinse and repeat. The crystals took a while to get down. All in all doing that it took me 37 minutes to beat him.
14:02 LOL WHAT
I wouldn’t even attempt an optional boss unless I was at max level. Is it still 30 or did they increase the cap? Anyway I’m playing it now and loving every moment!
Bro. Put this shiz on your main channel. Took me way too long to find it here.
Wind, fire, water, earth was optimal order in original.
Super jumps is all about how lucky am I today, I got it on sheer luck
Trying to figure out why not switch Peach before Meteor hit with Culex and instead of trying to keep a dead Geno in the team for like 80% of the fight, you could've just switched with Mallow and do Snowy to hit everyone and murder the red crystal.
What is the one guy talking about, “this is what you get” 🤣 did he just assume ryu should play the way he wants him to play? 🤣🤣 makes no sense
Hey.... can anyone tell me if I messed up? I beat the main game tonight. But I didn't do everything. I was planning on fighting culex after beating the game. Now I cleared the data and want to do rematches. I know culex has a rematch but if I didn't fight him in regular game is ir not accessible?
Geno can hit 9999 to the snifters
Surprsingly I really struggled with the cake, I beat the other bosses in less than 2 tries or the first time.. but that cake had my number.. I think it took me like 4 tries 😅
Edit: did he skip the jinx rematch and Belome rematch?
Dang when the boss does 9999 and the player cannot even get 9999 health ; the scales of fairness have been destroyed ❤
Also the CAKE boss if all 5 Candles are Lit it will do a full party 9999 damage attack and unlike Booster it will do the 9999 damage EVERY TURN so make sure for the Cake rematch all 5 Candles NEVER stay lit all at once.
pretty sure booster said "omle'du fromage"

Pay attention to who you have in your party, how many combos are in your gauge. That can affect what kind of buffs you get for more consistent damage. Shredder cannot remove the combo buff.
Also would have helped if you leveled more.
I was looking forward to these fights but now I’m not so sure…
They’re the best fights in the game. The regular game is brain dead easy

What the hell im so confused why the hell was my secret boss 2d and everyone TH-cam got 3d
Kind of disappointing that the only time in the game that any accessories/armor really mattered is in the post game. These fights are fun, but the entire rest of the game was pretty imbalanced.
It's not like the original game was balanced or challenging either, let's be real.
@@tessaPMpro but they did add an easy mode to the new one. Would have been nice if they balanced the combat for regular mode to at least make it somewhat challenging and not have to go back to replay the same fights for there to be any challenge. Why add easy mode when nearly all of the enemies in regular mode only do 1 damage throughout the entire game?
@jamesvincent5110 if you want to make the game harder then you can easily do that with doing a challenge run, the Mario RPGs have always been really easy and there is a reason why many of them, like the first two Paper Mario games, have such big and dedicated challenge run communities. It's dumb to complain about a game being too easy while making no effort to make the game harder for yourself when there are plenty of ways to, games like this are as easy or as hard as you make them.
@@tessaPMpro I, and I'm sure the majority of people, bought the game and played through it as intended. It's unlikely that I'll go back and play through the ~12 hours that it takes to get through it again anytime soon since I - and most people - don't have the time to dedicate to playing through an entire game again.
It's strange that having played the game as intended I was somehow supposed to know it would be easy - despite not playing on easy mode (which I can't imagine how that is) - and find a community to figure out how to make it more challenging.
Saying a game is too easy when you can complete it by spamming your normal attacks and never having to heal or revive characters is a valid criticism - especially when the majority of the enemies in the game can be killed with one hit and do one damage each. Expecting the average user to have to jump through hoops or find special challenges is an absurd ask of the typical player vs the developers just making the game more challenging.
@jamesvincent5110 that applies to most RPGs though, "too easy" is a weak criticism when it comes to RPGs because they're designed to have very modular difficulty where you can make the game as hard or as easy as you want it to be. If you think the game is too easy then that's on you for not putting in any effort to make the game harder for yourself as I have already said, it's a valid criticism as virtually all criticism is but it's a very weak one. Also "no time" is a bad excuse, most people have more than enough time given that they play far bigger and longer games all the time, they just don't have the MOTIVATION and mistake having no motivation for having no time. You more than likely have the time, you just don't have the motivation, and based on your response you don't actually want the game to be more challenging, you just want something to complain about.
This is what you get for speed running the game and not leveling up your team. 😂😂😂 Why set a world record just so it could be demolished months later? I'm not hating but trying to be the first to stream comes with these failures if you're not patient and plan correctly.
@@ryukahr i think there is some confusion about the WR u hold, lol also hey Ryu! 🐐👋🏾
