Remember that all the base of the house depends upon soil. And by knowing the type of soil we make foundation. If soil is soft then we do pilling but if it is normal then we do footing. Soft soil is very difficult to tackle but remember, if you don't know the type of soil and you do footing instead of pilling on the land, then your house will can't remain stable and maybe collapse at any time. So, that's why we must have to do soil test first. On normal land we do footing. As a civil engineer i wanted to share this knowledge with all the people to make house safely. For those who don't know that why we do soil test, we do for the foundation purpose that i explained above.
