Coach, welcome back and congrats on the new team. I added this technique years ago and just as you do, it's an everyday drill! Some of the JV kids were doing it in the hallway during period switches while moving between other kids.
Been watching a lot of your Film Friday clips, which I use a lot with my team. Also understand about always learning no matter where your team is on the table. I'm coaching a football team in NZ and i'm always watching youtube clips to widen my knowledge. The main sport here is Rugby, so most of time we are teaching real basic skills & fundamentals to our players. Love the challenge and your video clips have helped in a big way with trying to grow the game here.
Liked your video. I coach 8 man in South Carolina and you are the first 8 man coach I’ve found online period. Thanks for the good instruction. Hope to find some more from you.
Hey coach. Loving your stuff.. Pen and paper for hours made me laugh because that’s what I do as well.. Make the rules simple and sound for whatever might come your way. I coach in Norway so your level of drills are just what we need.. Thank you!
Nice one Coach. I will definitely steal this drill from you as well. As our off season is almost over in Germany I have to deal with similar problems. Our DLine guys are not using their hands enough although we are a slanting line. So this drill will help me activate the guys.
I’m German. I have been watching a lot of your stuff and others ( e.g. Coach Mac) just to get a deeper look in this wonderful sport. My coaching “career “ just started in September because I broke my leg in a game in June and I decided to switch jobs. There are so many opportunities for Americans to come overseas and play or coach for very good organizations. Just try it!
coach, I've been coaching 8 man for quite a few years. We made the switch in 2011. I've really enjoyed your videos for some time now, its really cool to see you coaching the 8 man game. I hope to see some 8 man specific videos soon. Stopping teams in the 8 man game is a whole different animal. I have actually wanted to do 8 man youtube videos, I started to wrtite a book about the 8 man game just to organize my own thoughts and what we have learned about its nuances over the years. Your vids are great, haters gonna hate.
Should be sure the LBs reassert behind the blocker, keeps from creating another alley while filling one, also doesnt let the blocker get a 2nd chance at you if within the tackle box. Dug it otherwise...

That's great to hear, Coach! NZ is on my bucket list of places to visit.

Wow coaching in Germany! Are you German or American? I've always wanted to coach a little football over seas.

They sure are! Thanks for commenting, Coach! Boy 8 man defense is a nightmare. I'm only just now starting to understand some things.
