I come back to this song at least once a month to remind myself that i still can feel something
One of my faves
This is falling in love during a pandemic.
I can't get this tune out of my head.... one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life.
I had a friend show me this song like maybe 3 days ago and I cannot stop listening to it. the second part always makes me cry because it's so freaking beautiful.
@@adanpedroza4646 years ago I had that same experience with ‘The Curse’ by Josh Ritter. Coincidentally, I revisited that song around the same time as you when I discovered this one.
I’m now sharing it with a friend 💫
I can't express how much this song has touched my life. I don't relate much to it in any natural way, but everything about it touches the soul. It's always been hard for me to pick my favorite Josh Ritter songs... but I'll go with 1. The Temptation of Adam 2. Another New World 3. The Curse. As you may be able to tell... I love his story songs.
One of the best lyricists we have.
that hanging note at the end....best non-ending of a song ever
This may be the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard, amazing!
Indeed, who would not wish to end the world just to keep a moment of real connection?
No song with a Dr. Strangelove reference can be bad.
I always thought this was a frighteningly relevant song. Now more than before.
This is one of my all time favorite songs !!!!!
It puts a tear in my eyes every time I hear it.
Perfect !!!!!
Where the Hell has this been all my life?
This may be one of the best songs I’ve ever heard omg 😱
The imagery is amazing
Been searching for this version! Thanks for putting it back up!
One of the best songs ever written surely. You could rap it. Hip hop like.
I love listening to it.
“If this was the Cold War we could keep each other warm”. Glad to see this back, great version. Seeing it live with horns is pretty great though. Pick it Josh.
This song gives me shivers. Beautiful.
Best song ever written

Best version of this song
Thanks Jake! This is a true gem, thank you for preserving it.
I've lost a pearl of Ritter and have been searching source materials intermittently for years.
In 2011 there was a Ritter song, Monster Ballads recorded with piano, live on "Q tv on CBC" channel/podcast (Canadian). It has been deleted. Would you happen to have access to that recording?

The only man almost as good as Bob Dylan.

What's the name of the Josh Ritter song that describes a women body like a map?
There's two lines toward the end of 'Change of Time' that go: When I opened my eyes, your shoulder blades, your spine, were shorelines in the moonlight... Maybe that's the one?
I think you're thinking of The Bad Actress from his Hello Starling album: "...eyes as big as Canada, hips are South Australia, shoulder blade is Africa, looking out on South America..."
Any guitar players know what tuning hes in?
Jeremy Rhoads I think it’s standard tuning but the dropped so the low E is something like C, so you get
CFA#D#GC
Bob Dylan vibes
I always wonder what it's like to write a song like this. Like imagine this coming out of you.
