Hahaha Singaporeans and Malaysians are quite alike when it comes to 'expensive possessions'. Urban locals in Malaysia are quite brand-conscious and equate high-end brands to being successful, which I guess is similar to Singaporeans! Great video. Can't wait to see what other experiences you and your partner will have in Singapore 🙂
I always assumed you were born and grew up in Singapore =O! I worked previously in high fashion and compare culture is huge. My coworkers would generally boast about the expensive possessions they have, whilst talking about their frugal spending on other things. I think its more of a status/intelligence marker 😅 considering they were 'smart' to get a great deal on an iPhone, yet also wealthy enough to buy a Birkin bag from Hermes. Guess some people are so poor, all they have is money. Some of my coworkers here also spoke Mandarin to each other randomly in my presence. It felt pretty awkward as well, considering they knew english as well. I suppose it's probably easier in their native tongue, but it did make my other coworkers annoyed (as they assumed they were talkin' smack 😅).
Thanks for the information Pooja. Very thorough and yes I can imagine the language barrier. Also I know how we love our Indian food. Glad that you adjusted though. I will be contacting you soon hopefully when I’m in Singapore as I know I will need advice in regards to apartments etc. thanks
A frame of thought Singapore Indian food are inspired by southern India, as someone living in the states. I find my indian colleagues telling me that Indian food here are northern in nature
Good video - I enjoyed it. I’ve never lived or worked in Singapore but I have visited, and I like it a lot. Of course, as you say, visiting is very different from living. Your story about difficulties renting was quite shocking - did the person renting actually say those things to you? On food, we have ‘Indian food’ in the UK (how ‘Indian’ it really is I don’t know - most of the restaurants are run by Bangladeshis, and increasingly Eastern Europeans!). But I found some of the food I had in Little India - I ate at a few restaurants along Serangoon Road - was exactly the same as in the UK, and some dishes, with the same name, were quite different. Quite a surprise!
Thank you 😊 it’s definitely a nice place to visit. About the property agent - yes, he thought he was doing me a favor by painting me as a local girl to the landlord 🤷🏽♀️ About food - that’s pretty cool! The stalls in Little India are mostly South Indians and it’s maybe mixed with Malay flavors
Here to watch. Food. Looks delicious ... Honesty. Possessions are safe in Singapore, generally Kpop Vending machines Efficiency Seems like a Great culture to experience But...they discriminate against curry cookers? Sad. This is all so interesting. Does wind catch the clothes lines?
Singaporean here. And I just wanted to say that the speaking of other languages in a group or meeting setting, it happens. But it is pretty rude. Usually I will call them out, and ask if it relevant to the group, if so, why are we not speaking in English or any language in common, if not. Why are you bringing it up in during the conversation. Sometimes they are just not self aware.

You’re probably right. Most of the Indian food here is South Indian, sometimes blended with Malaysian food 🥘 Are you also an expat in Singapore?
Singaporean likes to create their own style of cooking so you'll find Singaporean style in Indian food in hawker centres.

Thanks! I think it’s from Epidemic cloud, where do you usually find your background music?
