Comfort isn't really a priority for most high fashion labels which is understandable, but the models need to at least be able to walk in the clothes.
Gone are the days when each of the models knew how to walk! They seem to be chosen for their lines/beauty only. A show transported you to a place of perfect grace and confident attitudes. Dunno if the problem is the training or the designs but each show has these cringeworthy moments.

Most of the looks were very nice and practical. Though I watched another video with different camera angles for this show and some of the models were in a lot of discomfort. Some of the models took their shoes off or were falling and tripping over themselves. One model actually leaned over to an audience member for help due to her shoes. A couple of them actually fell down the stairs. There was also a lot of confusion about where to turn and walk so some of the models were going down the wrong aisle or doing a couple 360s before they found their way. In reality, this video makes everything look together but this show was actually a mess. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the models had injuries. Mind you, these models are trained to walk in difficult shoes and wear difficult garments so if they are having a difficult time, the design is to blame. And I say the designers to blame because it wasn’t just one mishap with one model, it was almost half of the fleet that either fell or took their shoes off or were struggling horribly throughout the entire show. I feel that Valentino did the models very dirty and shows style over functionality. And I know that shows like this aren’t always about functionality but if you have almost all of the model struggling to walk and falling and tripping then you need to reevaluate your design.
I saw that video, too! It was painful to see the models falling down the stairs. It soured my view of show.

I also noticed this. Whoever manages the logistics of the runway show, including the stylist, should be responsible for this. It looked very amateurish.

Just because little here was to my taste doesn’t mean there was anything wrong! I intensely disliked most of the colours. However, the shoe designer should be forced to walk home in a pair of them: what the *fluff*..?!! Model after model with her spindly little ankles nearly snapping because the needle thin, high heels were just giving way. Horrible to watch; dangerous to work in - could cause long term injury. That’s not fashion, that’s stupidity and someone should have prevented it before those girls had to risk the runway.
Exactly, I personally see it as a fail if you create things that are very uncomfortable or dangerous for people to wear!

Clothes are beautiful but like several comments here have to comment on the way some models walk, or don’t as the case may be. I’m sure some think it’s very cool to look so natural but infact it’s very distracting. It’s a pleasure to watch a beautiful model in beautiful clothes, walking beautifully.
The last black dress and Valentino print dresses were spectacular as well as the nude feathered garments.
This collection will definitely sell. Shoes aside, the clothing is definitely marketable and accessible.

i was there for the rehearsal and many of the models were struggling with the shoes because they were uncomfortable or not fitting. maybe that's why they look pissed off/ are struggling walking

The last dress (black) was exquisite and the model knew exactly how to show it; she was absolutely lovely.

The clothes in this collection were absolutely stunning that being said this fashion show flopped, the shoes caused so many problems here…

With few exceptions, Paris Spring/ Summer 2023 has been a disappointment so far, and with a day left, I am not sure it’s going to get anymore inspiring. Thanks goodness for Valentino for being one of the few bright spots in a rather dismal fashion season. Pierpaolo continues to present elegance, sophistication, and some really dreamy looks on the runway. That last look-that gorgeous model-wow!-alone saved Paris Spring Summer 2023 fashion week. Thank goodness! When I think of Paris fashion, I think of the stuff of dreams, not mom jeans and expensive sweatpants on the runway. I also love the pops of Pepto-Bismol pink in his audience. Fashionistas are still rocking last season’s Valentino.
I don't know what bright spots are for you, as well as elegance, sophistication and all you said. The heels were really uncomfortable, as well as some clothes, a lot of models fell because of the dresses and the heels, there was a general confusion about the right aisle and the wrong ones, and a model had a broken heel.
If this is what real humans should wear (even tho the only ones who could probably afford those are rich people), I'm sorry, but I don't think this is fashion.
@@user-iw6rf5ce7p I know, the runway show was pretty much chaos with the problems you mentioned. When I mentioned "elegance and sophistication," I was referring to the collection itself--the clothes, designs, fabrics, colors, etc. Even the shoes, I hate to say, are beautiful works of art--perhaps too beautiful and impractical to wear. Perhaps they are better appreciated on a shelf. I appreciate the comment! Please take care and keep well!

@@harshita243 Versace ss23? That's in Milan! I'm talking about the dismal Paris Spring/ Summer 2023 season. Versace was great and was easily one of the many highlights of Milan Spring/ Summer 2023, which was a very strong season, better than Paris.

Saw on another youtube video and on tiktok that the models were really struggling to walk on the runway :( Some even fell down some steps and alot of them took off their shoes mid-runway.

At times it was challenging to focus on the clothes when the models seemed too thin, too weak to walk. Several models seemed to struggle walking. I hope that all of the models are healthy!!

Exactly! When did the "malnourished" esthetic become popular. So much for worrying about the impact of fashion/models on young girls and boys. The "malnourished" look was all over the Spring/Sunner 2023 runways except for Donetella Versache, who had a tribute to 90s models who have yet to be topped! What a time that was for fashion and models.
Though...the design, fabric, flow, elegence, and more of the clothes were just exceptional...if I could get past the distraction of all the sickly, angry looking models.

The looks are stunning. THE SHOW IS AWFUL. Half the models can’t walk in the heels. The other half looked starved high and deadpan. The others look scary angry mad. The models are clumped together literally almost walking on the back of each other’s heels. It is an awful production.
I agree. I found it difficult to focus on the clothes. Add to that the shots of the crowd and the further distraction of way too much pink (yes...I get it) to further distract the eye. Sadly...It was a messy production overall.
Despite the beautiful clothes, the runways was rather chaos.

I've rarely seen such unhappy looking models. That's without even mentioning the chaos and injuries that have been caused by the shoes being ill-fitted/badly designed.
It's hard to be aesthetic when you're in pain.

Estoy en el minuto 7 del desfile y ya me aburre ver la cara de cabreo de las y los modelos. Es actitud cool o algo así?? Una marca como Valentino seguramente inspira a muchas y muchos, pero a mi parecer le resta puntos a la colección. Creo que ver rostros más amables y que inspiren a llevar un gesto amable hacia nuestros semejantes alrededor sería muy bueno de una marca global,sobretodo en tiempos de convulsión y de conflicto, es mi opinión. Moda y sociedad caminan juntas y no es mera frivolidad. La colección es bella 👏👏👍

Что не так с моделями на этот раз?) У меня правда много вопросов. Они все такие разные (здесь скорее подойдёт слова "хаотичные"), мужчины крадутся, женщины ковыляют и спотыкаются, такой страх в глазах у некоторых, читается "только бы не грохнуться". Я понимаю, разное бывает и безусловно они нервничают, но слишком уж часто привлекали внимание эти маленькие неувязки, складывается чувство, что стоило больше времени уделить прогону и откорректировать походку и темп, так как дистанция между моделями, кажется, тоже скакала, пройди они первый рубеж. Общее впечатление весьма напряжённое. Не знаю, но я не могу смотреть на одежду, пока переживаю за то, что модели сейчас переломают себе ноги...

Было чувство, что некоторые модели впервые видели подиум, то не держали расстояние, то спотыкались, то не могли ноги в кучу собрать. На общих планах видно, как они кучкуются спина в спину. Возможно была неудобной обувь, но кажется она обычная, на других показах были и более сложные платформы. Очень неприятно когда в такой прекрасной коллекции все на что обращаешь внимание это ошибки. Это единственный показ этого сезона, где в организации такая каша. :(

What is it this season with unwalkable shoes? The models at Saint Laurent were also having trouble with their footwear. (And at Vivienne Westwood, but that’s basically par for the course).
