Lifelong Stanford fan here, who grew up watching John Elway. Thank you so much for posting this! There’s so much happening here: - Al Michaels’ one liners (The Stanford Band needs is a “seven-second delay.”) - John Elway, throwing darts. - Anthony Allen’s bandana. - Mt. Saint Helens (!) threatening to erupt. I will miss playing the Huskies every year. May we meet again?
@@johnmanning4097 he beat #1 Washington and Ohio State in 1982. Had a top 10 Arizona State beat the same season but Stanford allowed a last second TD to lose 21-17. Had Cal beat too. Not sure what happened at the end of that one. Lol.

In 1980 Jim Harbaugh was a junior QB at Palo Alto HS right across El Camino Real from the Stanford campus.
Elway stilll the best college player I've ever seen in person.
Me too and I'm a UCLA fan.

Elway with the roll out and crossfield throw.
Greatest arm I've ever seen.
Do you have Stanford vs Oklahoma 1980….. John Elway and Stanford went to Oklahoma and beat the Hell out of my team that year 😢
@@johnmanning4097 I've seen it on line. Rain storm if I remember.
Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for the upload.
The commentators remarked it was the first time Washington played on natural grass. UW had artificial turf by then, and others already did.
What an enjoyable pregame. I watched the whole damn thing. Funny, I can't be bothered the pregames associated with today's games. That nostalgia, eh.
John Elway could pull off upsets 😡 🤔 at Stanford
Believe me, I know ……he beat my Oklahoma sooners football team in 1980 in our backyard 31-14
Zero bowl games.
Yeah like the upset against Cal?
@@johnmanning4097 In the '80s if OU played a QB who would later play in the NFL...they almost always lost. Elway started that trend.
