Hey I think your an amazing couple but I do not envy you in a tent in winter guys .I've been freezing in my house this year .I'm amazed how you guys cope ..I'm a campin vanlife lover but full time in a tent is not an option for me .I have a disabled son to think off .❤❤laurax
Not just the weather to worry about. Me any my mate used to camp out when we were contracting, especially in bad areas for digs. We were in the new forest, years ago,a storm came in that night,it was wild, lightening lit up the inside of the tent, rain pounding down, set me car alarm off. We survived, but the lightening knocked a hole in the wardens caravan. Few mornings later we were having our breakfast and i fed some crunchy nut cornflakes to the squirrels. When we got back from work the bar stewarts had riped a hole in the tent and nicked all the cornflakes
That's what happens when you tell the squirrels what you've got and where it is. They're smart and love a challenge. They'd have watched you leave and then raided you straight away lol, we've detered them with curry powder and chilly, but now... we just hang high in a dry bag on a long unaccessible thin wire right out of the way. Least if ya flakes get eaten in the dry bag, it's not as expensive as a tent lol. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Hi t both of you! So glad you both safe! Years ago was on a holiday....at coastal / working farm site...were in a 20yr old Eurohike 4person Dome tent ( well maintained!) N a major storm occurred...I woke up t being slapped in face with wet bit of tent! Coz one of poles had snapped! Area outside was full of coastguard vehicals, cliff rescue etc. who were focussing on rescueing seafarers who were struggling in the Bay.....meanwhile....my daughter (11yrs) remained curled up asleep n totally unfrazed! Stayed inside what left of tent,as was pitch dark n was safe f the moment. After an hour was able t decamp into nearby heavy duty u.v. awning ( had heating, cooking n lights etc) thanks t fellow holiday makers! When we emerged in daylight.....every single other tent n all people gone....n nothing other than mass wreckage n twisted metal with majority of stuff having been launched into orbit ....n littering miles of farm land! Was a major clean up project later! The only tent still standing ( albiet with squished corner) was ours! N was coz we actualy paid attention t basic details when pitched it! Thankfully All Souls at sea were saved ,even though they lost some boats! Big shout out for all those emergency Services ....who put their own lives at risk t save others!❤
@Log Hoppers. if you head to Scotland in spring, go to a town called Girvan. By the sea, there are caves where you can live as long as you like, and no storms can even disturb them at all, and when the tide comes in, no one will find ye. You can easily catch fresh fish, crabs, lobster, and mussels to eat like kings and queens. You will both be the healthiest and strongest you have ever been, and nay one can stop ye, it's not illegal.
Glad your both ok , sorry the storm played with you. Cheers for update and can understand not having a chance to film being silly o'clock in the morning... All the best Caz 🌾🍄🌳🦉❤️
@MoiraVesty thank you, yes. Designing our own tent is the ultimate goal... and has to be light, strong, and be the holy grail of tents lol. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I’d advise replacing all guy ropes with bungee rope, ex marine here, who’s spent many a month under a bivvy 😂, it’s much more forgiving on the tent in windy conditions, you can buy it on a roll, also good to create a spider web above your tent and then thread natural foliage through for concealment
Indeed, so true. Funnily enough, the replacement was ready and waiting at our friends house. We wasn't meant to come to his for at least a week before on the off, so fate and Nikki had us sorted on that. What awesome people in the world, HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼👍🏼
Brilliant, you got a new tent. Looks much more roomy for you both. See, the storm brought you a new tent. Thankyou Storm and the person who donated the tent. ✌️
It's the same size funnily enough. There's about 2inches difference, but surprisingly adds more psychologically lol. And yes, Nikki is awesome. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼

Glad you guys are ok! Crazy storm not to bad down south was out in it myself 🤟 I have a small 1 person tent and I build a little shelter around me with near by wood cause I’m a wimp at night time 😃
I have a random question about wood stoves. I think I've seen you using a titanium wood stove with an alcohol stove in it . I'm thinking of using a boundless wood folding stove but it doesn't say that it's compatible with alcohol stoves. Do you think that this set up would work? Cheers
@ilanakali1030 not sure, we don't use one. We have used our little wood burner for a wind guard is all.. and helps to keep the pot steady, instead of balancing it on the can stove. Hope this helps, HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼

NOT our fence amd NOT our house. We don't have a house or a fence or a flat or mansion or van, or boat or car etc. We have a tent which is our home and has been over 10yrs by choice. So thanks, HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
If u can get hold of Satin Black Rubber Spray paint u can also add stripes camo effect or block patterns 1 to help hide it away 2 it keeps it waterproof 3 makes it darker inside 😉👌 & because it's a rubberised paint it's flexible also & doesn't damage the tent, been using it on mine for years makes a big difference £5 can does most of a 2man tent.
Iam really happy that you got a new tent I must admit I always think of you guys when the weather is really bad I know you know what you are doing so that's the main thing you're tent is really good hope you have many dry nights in it good luck
Glad you're all ok. Saved by the bell .... or should I say Nikki with the new tent. Was wondering how you were coping but to be honest thought you'd be ok as after10 years hopping theres not much you haven't been through before. Still a bit scary though. Lets hope the weather clears up for when you move on. Cheers all the best.👍
Don't need poles for this and the trekking poles are for stand alone but also a good selfie stick, walking stick, beating stick lol 😆 HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
We don't use 4season, we use 3. And if you'd like to watch this video... we mention our bags th-cam.com/video/Lx0GQyGlm_Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=89yAPnTXymj8widd HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I was wondering when the storm happened I have had no power or net for a wile but nothing like what you had ! So glad your well guys just catching up on your vids Durham Xo You need a buy me a coffiee section guys and a wish list maybe I missed that but if you don’t have one get one
He's always OK lol, he laughs while we are in the rain fixing it so he lays down and goes back to sleep lol 😆 no effort, bladdy lazy lol 😆 HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Lanshan 2 is available with the T door at no extra cost. They are about £180 whether you go for the standard or pro version there is not much cost difference. The pro is sil nylon sil which is meant to be a lot more hard wearing and durable. Than sil nylon pu coating. The pro doesn't have a full inner and is single skin on the sides. I have lived in tents a lot through out my life and find the Pu coating is what has failed first. Especially with secondhand tents. It can be sticky and smelly.... Then after reading into it a lot then prolonged exposure to Pu in the wrong circumstances (deteriorating and breaking down) can cause health issues. Due to the chemicals used. Silicone on the other hand is considered non toxic. Also silicone will not have a fire retardant added where as Pu probably will depending on manufacturer. Good luck with the new tent guys! I hope it goes well for you. I can see why you prefer it. Enjoy!
Sorry that you had to endure that. But I'm happy that you got sorted through the kindness of friends. You have a genuine little community. Happy hopping and safe travels.
Yeah... this is called a demonstration in a friend's garden. Watch the video and your comment would surely be different. Not to mention... we've lived this way by choice for over 10yrs and always adapt to our issues if they arise. Not to mention also, have a watch of our other vids and playlist and we'd not be surprised that you'll change ya tune and subscribe. We look forward to see more of you.. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼👍🏼
I love that you 2 always are smiling, even in the hard times, your choice to live the way you do is so very obviously you both doing what you love. And the timing of getting your new tent when you needed it was perfect! Fate lol. I'm so glad to see you came out the other end of the storm smiling as ever, and I cant wait to see your future travels that you keep teasing us with 😄 Thank you both for another lovely video. ...I was curious about Taras art, did it survive the storm? I really hope so, she's awesome, and the lion she was working on looked great. ❤
The lions been sold and her art is in great condition given current events, but we always make sure our gear is safe and stowed appropriately incase of such events. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Im so glad your ok your such a great couple and dog is great some nasty comments on here today what nasty things to say your just living your life doing no harmx
I'd look into doing some mods to your new lanshan/onetigris(theres a load of videos on youtube and facebook page dedicated to it), i bought one that already had them done, with extra patches where the poles press against the top of the tent, makes it alot less likely to split there! Wishing yous all the best! Edit: Not sure if youre using one but if your wanting a good lightweight groundsheet, look at getting a bit off tyvek and adding some bungies to stake it out, it's quite noisy until you give it a wash to soften it up, but suuuper durable. Only problem I've had is if you have to pitch somewhere with alot of duck poop, it's difficult to get the smell out after xD
Iam a fisherman, get yourselfs a carp fishing bivvy with all the storm poles overwraps etc,I've been in horridous weather on big gravel pits ...plus keep a eye on which way the wind Is blowing look for areas where you can get on the back of those big south westerly winds
Cool, as explained yesterday in person to another carp fisher... carry all of your gear 24/7... not just from the carpark to the lake. He has to do one trip now that hes got a trolly to carry it all... i said to him, "do you want to carry your carp bivy and everything you have 20-30miles and then set up in a bush somewhere whilst you travle with us on foot over 400miles and also mountainous, boggy terrain" he said hed not be able to walk 2 miles with all his gear. So no thabks, weve perfected our gear over the 10yrs for our lifestyle, but a tent is easily replaced, they don't last forever. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Back in the 70's I was in the Mistral in France and the Bora in Italy. I was in a Vango Force 10 and was fine. I watched Caravans blown about and trees brought down. My parents in their Caravan worried about me. The Tent stood Fast and I had no trouble... Good old Steel Pole A Frame Ridge Tent .....
Guys you really making me consider living in a tent.. full time!! I’ve done it sporadically for long periods usually travelling. For years then returned to work .. every time I came back I hated it. And now I’m looking to get a van and finally stop having to come home to re-sort my life out! Hahahaha it’s a lie anyway! But you guys are so inspiring. I loved living in my tent.. girlfriend and dog. Just worrying about food and water.. that’s it!!! I also don’t even like driving or cars and vehicles in general.. so we will see what happens!!
The proverbial wind fall; in which took out the one tent, and by happenstance, another drops in. By the looks of it, a larger one, and with the features, more to your liking. That's way cool in the short order, this came to be resolved, with a kindness in the ready, for such a weathering forecast.....The good on you, looks good. The keepers of memory, and this to be sure, a keeper.
I was camping in Spain and there was a huge lightning storm. There was absolutely blistering rain and just my dad and me in our shirts desperately trying to get everything polled up and pegged in.
Indeed, gots to be ready for action lol. But bet it was a good bonding experience and you both have tjat fun memory to look back on and reminisce. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I am sorry to hear that Storm Eowyn wrecked your nomadic home! 🙁 These are the sort of occasions that I am glad my mother left me a home with a roof! Speaking of which, Newquay, Cornwall had a small tornado blowing through I think just before Eowyn! It has caused a swathe of damage, and ripped tiles off plenty of my neighbours' roofs! 😮 (My low-set cottage escaped most of the damage. I have a couple of blown-down gates/fences, but that damage happened earlier this winter. The posts got all rotten at the bottom.. Having said that, there is one part of the roof (an extension) which I cannot see from the garden or the drive, and I'm certainly not climbing up there, in this sort of weather! 😏) Good luck for the rest of 2025, anyway! Let's hope there are no more of such storms! 🤞
We were all sent home from work on friday, due to our factory roof been damaged with the wind, I was wondering how well you two were getting on with the wind. Northeast where i am, we didn't get it half as bad as the north west side, but enough to get a HGV over on its side on our stretch of the A19.
And we see that sort of damage with lorries without storms too, tired blowouts are devastating. We're good, hope your work sorts itself soon. Glad ya safe, HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
U should get a couple of survival blankets to drape over the inner to reflect the heat bk on to you and even one under the ground sheet to reflect the cold down. They work great! a sleeping bag cover help the warmth from escaping and if you knock one of yoyr cans of red stripe over it will protect you Sleeping bag from getting wet😅

Cheers. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Iam really happy that you got a new tent I must admit I always think of you guys when the weather is really bad I know you know what you are doing so that's the main thing you're tent is really good hope you have many dry nights in it good luck
Thank you, HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Glad you are safe
Glad you're all ok. Saved by the bell .... or should I say Nikki with the new tent. Was wondering how you were coping but to be honest thought you'd be ok as after10 years hopping theres not much you haven't been through before. Still a bit scary though. Lets hope the weather clears up for when you move on. Cheers all the best.👍
Admire you guys. Love watching your channel. Good health and a happy new year.
Thank you, you too. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Glad you guys are ok. Nice new tent 👌. All the best.
How many tents have you been through in 10 years?
5 long term, tried a few others just to see what they're like amd gave them away. But always stick to this style now. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
What do you think about the air tent. Seems easier to blow a tent up than sort a load of poles?
Don't need poles for this and the trekking poles are for stand alone but also a good selfie stick, walking stick, beating stick lol 😆 HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
So glad to see you are all OK, and what a fantastic twist of fate with the new tent 😊 stay safe out there. ❤
nikki is a life saver, nice to see there are still kind people out there!
would you recommend any 4 season synthetic sleeping bags? i need one
We don't use 4season, we use 3. And if you'd like to watch this video... we mention our bags

Glad you all ok, nothing like a bit of excitement, just not 4 o'clock in the morning. 😂
Can say that again lol 😆 HAPPY HOPPING Cully 👌🏼👍🏼
Glad your all ok..its learns you and educates you about the choices you make next time..hope your dog was ok.❤
Enjoy!
Awesome, cheers and will do. Thank you and HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Sorry that you had to endure that. But I'm happy that you got sorted through the kindness of friends. You have a genuine little community. Happy hopping and safe travels.
Cheers Cully, we certainly do indeed. And all thanks to you guys. Thank you HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
The way the tents are flapping in a normal breeze I'm not surprised storm Eowyn destroyed it
Yeah... this is called a demonstration in a friend's garden.
Fate lol.
I'm so glad to see you came out the other end of the storm smiling as ever, and I cant wait to see your future travels that you keep teasing us with 😄
Thank you both for another lovely video.
...I was curious about Taras art, did it survive the storm? I really hope so, she's awesome, and the lion she was working on looked great. ❤
The lions been sold and her art is in great condition given current events, but we always make sure our gear is safe and stowed appropriately incase of such events. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I'm so sorry your home was wrecked ! ..I hope you can find shelter soon ! Blessings !! aha.. Niki to the rescue !! superb !!
Im so glad your ok your such a great couple and dog is great some nasty comments on here today what nasty things to say your just living your life doing no harmx
Indeed, but it's our daily dose of
Stupid lol 😆 HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
duct tape will fix that.
I'd look into doing some mods to your new lanshan/onetigris(theres a load of videos on youtube and facebook page dedicated to it), i bought one that already had them done, with extra patches where the poles press against the top of the tent, makes it alot less likely to split there!
Wishing yous all the best!
Edit:
Not sure if youre using one but if your wanting a good lightweight groundsheet, look at getting a bit off tyvek and adding some bungies to stake it out, it's quite noisy until you give it a wash to soften it up, but suuuper durable. Only problem I've had is if you have to pitch somewhere with alot of duck poop, it's difficult to get the smell out after xD
Thank you for the advice, we didn't know what we was doing after living this way for 10yrs by choice. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Knew you both ok as your so clued up 👍but as already mentioned tent companies need to seek your knowledge, I hope so 👍👍👍👍👍
Iam a fisherman, get yourselfs a carp fishing bivvy with all the storm poles overwraps etc,I've been in horridous weather on big gravel pits ...plus keep a eye on which way the wind Is blowing look for areas where you can get on the back of those big south westerly winds
It's good you're OK. That storm was very nasty.
Nikki your a star a One Tegris.. fantastic tent 😮🌾🍄🌳🦉❤️
@carolinemitchell4871 tis indeed, the very best for us. HAPPY HOPPING Cully, hope you're all safe, warm n well. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
sorry to hear this guys
It's OK, we're good. Smile and wave lol 😆 HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
@ good to hear guys ❤️
Stormy again today & tomorrow. Stay safe.
Indeed, will do. Cheers and HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Awesome. Good luck and do let us know your journey HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼👍🏼
Knowing a storm is going to happen is different to when it is actually happening. At least you and the dog are safe.
Thank you, really appreciate it. Awesome comment cheers. Hope you're well too. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Yes thanks. Great to see your coping well. 👍🏻
Nice one Niiki! Looks a great tent 😊
The proverbial wind fall; in which took out the one tent, and by happenstance, another
drops in. By the looks of it, a larger one, and with the features, more to your liking. That's
way cool in the short order, this came to be resolved, with a kindness in the ready, for
such a weathering forecast.....The good on you, looks good.
So happy for you both
I am sorry to hear that Storm Eowyn wrecked your nomadic home! 😏)
Good luck for the rest of 2025, anyway! Let's hope there are no more of such storms! 🤞
Keep up good vids guys, will u be coming throught south wales on ur travels
We were all sent home from work on friday, due to our factory roof been damaged with the wind, I was wondering how well you two were getting on with the wind. Northeast where i am, we didn't get it half as bad as the north west side, but enough to get a HGV over on its side on our stretch of the A19.
And we see that sort of damage with lorries without storms too, tired blowouts are devastating. We're good, hope your work sorts itself soon. Glad ya safe, HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Pray you get a decent tent and supplies quickly! Stay safe as you can out there
Sorted cheers. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Nah, we've lived this way over 10yrs and good just the way we are cheers. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
I’m sorry I read the comments some of them are really shitty but what they don’t realise is that they are feeding the algorithm for more views! Shame so many people are closed minded and just plain mean though. I’m glad you’re both okay and it all worked out. I love watching the ways different people live and broadening my perspective so thanks for your uploads 😊
Thank you too HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Fate..someone is watching over the happy hoppers
They are indeed. HAPPY HOPPING 👌🏼 👍🏼
Glad you guys are ok.
Sending love and positivity guys.
Duck tape fixes everything 👍🏻
