Except it IS deep and complex. The chorus is completely deceptive, written totally from the perspective of the person the narrator is being broken up with by. The verses are just Matthew Wilder staring at this asshole who obviously didn't make their true feelings clear from the beginning going, "This is how they see what they're doing. Wonderful memories growing up with family and friends. I wish I could go back and do it all again but sadly those days will never return. Thank you for uploading this great song.
@@abigailrogers6354 Don’t feel sad. The technology available to your generation these days is incredible. I would’ve loved to have had something as simple as a mobile phone as it would’ve made my life so much easier but I’ve got no regrets. I wouldn’t trade my childhood and teenage years for anything. It was a very special time for me and I consider myself fortunate to have grown up during the 70’s and 80’s. You would’ve loved it. Take care and stay safe with this nasty virus going around.

I do have to laugh because that verse stuck out to me too. I keep in touch with an old boyfriend from back in high school days he's married and has been for a couple decades but we still touch base once in awhile, we don't talk too much because he's married, but it's nice to stay in touch with someone from your past, even though when we were just kids we broke up, we had a miscarriage, we didn't end up getting married. Who is a bit on the wild side, he was straight laced. BUT I told him recently I thought it was important that we stay friends for the rest of our lives,..He agreed.🎉❤
After having this song stuck in my head, for the last few months, decided to listen to it. This song, among others, is now helping me understand that life "doesn't stop". I've been through hell, from being a victim of bullying, that lasted 12 years, to ending up in hospital, on more than one occasion, with 2019 being the most recent due to a severe health issue, I've pushed through the bad situations, no matter how painful they've been. Even though I have to contend with depression, and multiple forms of anxiety, the meaning of this song is always going to push me to keep on moving. I failed the same course of study 4 times, due to mental health and life, and physical health, and even though I failed it that many times, I'm still going to go back to finish it, to achieve my dreams. I'm only 27, and grew up listening to songs from the 70's and 80's, and this helps to keep me inspired, among other songs
Bro bullying is no fun I know that too so I understand what you have gone through and I want you to know that you should never give up on them and if you ever wanted to give up come listen to this song and read all the replies you will soon get from other people. I believe in you and your dreams :)
@@erikmladek yeah, I don't intend to quit my studies. I'm not studying ATM, since I want my health to be a bit better, but I do intend to go back next year. I haven't been known to quit. Hell, I have 2 of the best friends I never asked for, and they know that I won't stop when times are tough
Keep on moving man. When life gives you shit, punch it in the face no matter how much you suffer. As long as you punch it in the face, you pull out on top.
Everyone here isn't taking me seriously like it's a VERY serious thing right now and few hundred people have died and they are making jokes around here.

@@Megatraum504 Tell me about it. Some songs just hit right for everyone, no matter their age or music style.
As some kind of escapist vacation where my feelings mean nothing. What a load of bullshit!" It's genius.

I'm class of 1987 and the 80's were some of the best years of my life! Life held so much promise back then despite all the problems that were around. Wonderful memories growing up with family and friends. I wish I could go back and do it all again but sadly those days will never return. Thank you for uploading this great song.
Not just my parents are saying it now people on the internet are too, great! ●_● btw I mean no hate just trying to make a joke.
Makes me sad to be a part of the generation I am. I've always wished to live back in those days.
The 80's were one of the best years
My mom always tell me the same thing, every time she speaks about how good the 80's were, you can see the emotion in her eyes, indescriptible, definitely it was an amazing time to be alive

"You look at me and you see your past, is that the reason your running so fast?" Very powerful line.
Edit: Mom I'm famous!
