  • So I have now spent 90 days with this amazing motorcycle. This is a 3 month review of my 2018 Ducati Panigale V4 Speciale (#215/1500). In this video I discuss my thoughts on owning this superbike and how it compares to my 2017 Ducati 1299 Panigale S.

      Appreciate the comment Dario! I just sold my 1299 S, but I love the feel of my V4 Speciale. Ducati all the way man! Ride safe!

    Good vid, I think though the street mode is like the rain mode, sport then race. I may have misunderstood you.

    Please tell us how the heat put off by the V4S compares to the 1299S---I'm actually pondering both bikes but heat is an issue here n Texas!

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So the heat from the 1299 is pretty much unbearable here in Florida, nearly year round. One of the main reasons I bought the V4 and why I'm selling the 1299S is because of the heat. It feels like a hot iron of steam is burning your right inner thigh. The V4 seems to have fixed this problem (its still not perfect) but a heck of a lot better heat control compared to the 1299. I'd pony up to the V4S if I were you and pass on the 1299S...That is unless you want to buy mine lol. I give good deals! Cheers.

      @@TheDucatiPilot Thanks for the input---I've owned (2) 1098s--both ran nice and cool because I had full exhaust with no cats in the cans--I want to step into a newer Panigale but the crazy "curved-under-the-seat" header just creates so much heat! What was Ducati thinking?! I tested an 1199 when they first came out and was put off by the heat. Looking at the new V4---there seems to be more clearance between curved header and seat---and the full race exhaust ($5K???) even creates more distance! This would be the bike for me, V4 with race exhaust--but---$$$~! I love the look of the 1299 though. Another thing, I'm 6'3" so leg room is welcome--would you say there's more legroom on the V4?

    • @Miguel-Migs
      @Miguel-Migs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you take the baffles off, the heat drops by about 20 degrees as well.

  • @tinhanhxaxu
    @tinhanhxaxu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    how is the heat under the seat compared to your 1299?

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tons better! I couldn’t even ride my 1299 in the summer time here in Florida and it was one of the main reasons I bought the V4. I test rode a V4S long before I purchased the Speciale, and the redesign of the engine and exhaust (compared to the 1299) made a huge difference.

    everything that you tell about the engine modes in the first 2,5 min ist wrong, sry, own a V4S myself... street mode has reduced engine power and everything is calmed down, sport is like medium with full engine power but smooth acceleration, race ist full engine and direct acceleration

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the insight. I genuinely appreciate it. I will take a closer look at my engines modes tomorrow. Maybe some of the modes were changed manually by the previous owner. I'll let you know. Cheers!

    Nice bike but Florida looks so flat and boring. I test ride the V4 but I like the 1299S I have it feels more rewarding when you get it right, yes it’s work.

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would be surprised how windy and hilly the area north of Tampa is. I surely was. A lot of bikes head up there on the weekends. The other bonus is riding with beach views and sunsets. Florida may not have mountains, but riding here isn’t too bad (just too hot! lol).
      As for the bikes, I own and love both, but the V4 is more refined and just a better overall bike. Cheers!
