10:06 yes, his seat would allow an air tank to be attached to his back. In fact, I actually think that the seat piece was originally designed in a way that minifigure with an airtank would fit there
Great video! You made me feel nostalgic for a time I wasn't even around. One suggestion for a video: The least Lego-looking official pieces outside the CCBS. My nominates are the scarab shields from Pharaoh's Quest, the shades and beak combo for Eagle Dude (I think that's his name) from the Unikitty line, the pieces from the RC Racers sets 8369, 8378 & 8675 and finally the whole Gallidor series.
Not bad although I find it more of a Legoified movie prop where realism was more important than making it look like a toy. What I don't like is the Dragonbone blade and dual-moulded Vermillion axe- and swordblades from Ninjago.
My favorite Space Subtheme! Something worth mentioning is Gypsy Moth isn't the only named character. There's also Danny Longlegs. LEGO never made it clear what minifig was actually Danny, but he was said to pilot the Arachnoid Base so he was probably the $30 guy.
This is probably my earliest memory! Playing with the Prowler on the side of my neighborhood pool... I never knew where that memory fit chronologically but I was born in 1996 so 2 years old seems crazy early for a memory! Thanks for the blast from the past.
i own two of these guys the one at 4:23 but with a blue colored helmet (no idea where the yellow one is but i kinda like how he looks with the blue better) and the guy at 5:05. and my bro owns the weird $8.50 poly bag figure at the end.
Back in 1997-2000 lego we’re struggling to sell their sets so they went ALL OUT on printing minifigures and sets, fortunately for Lego,Starwars was just around the corner which saved Lego, it’s a real shame that Lego got sloppy with hardly any prints and just stickers nowdays because the Insectoids and UFO that was released just before the year 2000 was totally awesome!!! Which I own every set from both themes 🥰
I love LEGO Insectoids and UFO series - they are my favourite space series. However, I have never liked (and used) the names like Zotaxians, Gypsy Moth, or the sets' names like Zo Weevil/Speed Sled or Bi-wing Blaster; I prefer my own names (created when I was a teenager in the late 90s). In my opinion, this division made by LEGO into Zotaxians and Insectoids is unneeded. I have always called them all just Insectoids.
i have parts of some of these sets! I most likely got them in a lego bundle, but I didn't know what they were from. Thanks for the video, it's very informative!
Woah! This theme is vaguely familiar to me, I don't remember it very much, I can only imagine that the different pieces would certainly glow with a black light, very cool! I have a suggestion for the next minifig collection, how about the ones from the Lego Dino theme? Not Jurassic Park/World, the very first dino themed Lego sets!
I like your videos! Vhen you se minifigures like that it makes me wana go in thet theme and by all the sets :D. You can do the video about every lego adventurers mnifigure!
Blue skin always has a lime helmet and grey skin always has a green helmet. I wonder if this purely is a design choice or these are different lineages/cultures.

Very interesting... that is not correct though; they are all called Zotaxians; Insectoids was a reference to the ships looking like bugs, but they are all from the planet Zotax, and only some are associated with the Insectoids faction. You have a big imagination though and I like that.

I've got a lot of nostalgia for this theme even though I only had one of the smallest sets.
They just stood out so much in the catalogues.
I love these LEGO unlicensed minifigure videos. I’d love to see any other unlicensed themes in the future. Great videos!
8:01 This is "Locust" from lego legacy:heroes unboxed
alcatz
You know that because he is there in game
People find the figures in real life to point it out bow
10:06 yes, his seat would allow an air tank to be attached to his back. In fact, I actually think that the seat piece was originally designed in a way that minifigure with an airtank would fit there
I believe you are correct, it was a common piece in classic space and they ALL had air tanks
2:29 - Those armor pieces were also used for some of the UFO minifigs.
The 30 dollar minifigure from the Arachnoid base, was my personal favorite minifig as a child :) Though I am sad I have lost his head :/
You know I found the head for the very same minifigure at an activity camp I visited.
Great video! You made me feel nostalgic for a time I wasn't even around.

My favorite Space Subtheme!

They did. Danny Longlegs is the one with green arms and silver hair.

I like how this theme isn't scared to have exclusive Minifigures in sets
3:42 I got em, but unfortunately I don’t have his helmet, kinda sucks to have a bald robot
Rock Raiders!
Oh, such fond memories.
Wow it is amazing. Maybe LEGO would make reedition sometime ? No, probably no..... unfortunatelly
