I pray one day this will be more revealed to me. I comprehend the "snuggle not struggle" and the New Covenant grace and power but I still catch myself striving every day. I've always been a do-er and a perfectionist. I want to do things right. I want to be accepted. When I was a kid, I would clean the house every day before my dad got home to make him happy. I knew he loved me regardless if the house was clean but I've just always had this mentality that I have to do something in order to please. Even when I'm in my closet I sometimes find myself overanalyzing how I worship and pray! 😣 Lord help me. I want to be like Mary. I'm so tired of being Martha.

I pray you find today all that you need is in HIM- when I first began learning about this resting in Him goodness it took me a while to just rest. But as I did, he began teaching me more fully and personal revelation came. I pray that today by the spirit that you will experience such a restful peace with him that you fully realize him and you won’t be able to go back to the way it was before!! I strayed from this.... my spirit is familiar with this truth... with His presence. I was attacked hard by a spirit of deception/religion when I was really vulnerable about 2 years ago... it's been a hard journey but I am not giving up... I remember this rest. I remember His presence. I am so thirsty for this and for freedom. I have been renewing my mind & renouncing religious lies. Please pray for my heart.

Many good things said here. What helped me understand was watching a series called Grace Walk by Steve Mcvey. I used to strive because I didn't understand grace or know God's character in the fullness of Christ Jesus even though I was born again. It took me getting to the end of myself. I had to get real with God and learned that He loved me at my worst because of WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE HAS DONE. There I learned to trust Him and rest. When He lays something on my heart to bring me in closer communion with Him and I simply obey Him, or have rest and victory. He truly does not despise a contrite heart (Psalm 51). God is so good...He's a good Dad. His unmerited favor, believing and receiving it, causes our hearts to want Him more and do what makes Him happy. Thank you for posting this video. It blessed me.

I completely agree with all you've shared Eric! When I received the truly amazing gift of the spirit life just flowed.., I felt like I was dancing with the Spirit up in the clouds somewhere for weeks on end and everything just unfolded before my very eyes spontaneously not once did I feel the need to strive. However, I have no ide what's happened since because I don't hear him like I did, I don't feel him like I did, I'm still in the word, praying, worshipping, just being still with him but it just feels like something has changed and I know it must be me because I know Jesus would not have given me His Spirit to take it away again...., I'm confused!

Yes “labor to enter his rest”. While we are in the body a battle is raging within and outside of each of us. We must pick up the weapons of our warfare and fight a daily battle! We enter through the door of grace earned by the sin less perfect sacrificial lamb of God! I have a comment and a question. Striving did not come with the Old Covenant. It came with the Fall. The Old Covenant made man's fallenness all the more clear, *and* prophesied the New Covenant. Therefore, does not what we believe concerning the Old determine what we believe about the New? IOW - if I see God as requiring striving from Israel in the OC, how can I see Him differently in the NC? He changes not! But if I see the OC as brilliant prophecy, God's commandments to Israel as a societal order of prophetic acts declaring God's solution to sin, then the picture changes.
