IMHO As we all learn, dogs have no place when working bison. They get the animals worked up quickly as they are considered a threat by the animals most of the time. Just a suggestion may not be a bad idea to lock up the dog.

@Maryann Weldin Maya was doing what comes naturally to her, fantastic work dogs bred to do a very tough job in a very tough environment making their own decisions on how to move animals, she will have learned from that.

Good video, For a tip with cattle and buffalo, a dog needed to be chained up by the house out of the way not making noise and cause issues. We always had to chain up our dogs when loading cattle. Extra noise and shooting in to nip the cattle or buffalo hooves make all anxieties raise with extra yelling at the dog. So keep the dogs safe chained up by the house under a tree far out of the way and not to be heard.

OK now I have tears watching Dunbar and his ladies. Once Elanor is there it will be calmer for you to have them together. I'm always amazed how people in Yellowstone try to get close to the animals. Miah seems too excitable to have around when it's critical to keep them calm. I know she wants to help and she's a cattle dog but we all know .... these aren't cattle.

I do get a little weary of the “big things are coming” announcements. I kinda feel like a three-year old: “Oh boy! What is it? What’s the big thing? Are we going to like it? Will it be something happy? New equipment purchase? Land purchase? Lots of merch? What, huh, what?”

Not gonna lie, seeing Dunbar at the big ranch brought tears to my eyes. Once Elenore is there it will be complete. Your 'warm welcome' is exactly how we integrate beef cattle to our herd. Any new animal, especially bulls, get penned in a corral for at least a week to become accustomed to us and the land. There are numerous horror stories about cattle jumping fence and running away, never to be found if pasture released. On release day, we feed the big herd away from the corrals so they aren't at the gate to fight the newcomer and it goes a lot smoother.

That would be heart breaking. Big Joe is bigger too. I haven't seen the clips here lately I was sick and didn't feel like doing anything. But glad to see you just moved them to the new home.

I kinda figured that’s what the plan was … to move everyone (the breeding herd) there and use Kevin’s and your Mom’s facility for weaning and market purposes. It’ll make sorting so much easier. I bet Kevin and your Mom are relishing the break!

Hey I assume it might be stressful for the bison, but could you find a way to get the bison a rotation in the bison outlook at the national park? I would love to be able to drive down and see them without trespassing.
