Awesome review on the PS1. I bought one a few years back and I think I tried it out once 😂. I'm really interested in learning to use it better though, especially the line out features
I've had the Bugera for a year and a half and have to say that I've been very happy with it. When compared to the really expensive attenuators, it does sound a little darker (which apparently is common with passive attenuators like the Bugera), but all that requires is adjusting the amps EQ to brighten it a little. While I'm sure the top of the line attenuators are more transparent, I think the Bugera still sounds really good, especially for a 10th of the price.
No, but you can use one with a volume pedal. The attenuator is like having an addtional volume control but between the head and cabinet. So the volume on your guitar or a volume pedal will be before your head. Does that make sense?
@@scanjazz777 No worries. When you use the line out you only send the signal from the amp obviously, and not the cabinet. So you´re pretty much missing half the tone. To compensate for that you need to use a cab simulation in your DAW (or through a pedal between the line out and your audio interface). Google for a free IR loader plugin. There are several free options. An IR (impulse response) is basically a sample of a specific cab/speaker that someone recorded. A capture of its sound. A V30 or a GreenBack etc. You load it as a plugin at the end of your guitar signal. Like a normal cab would be. So then your full tone is restored again. The XLR out does the same thing basically but with really bad quality. So avoid that.

Awesome gear, man!
Can I use the PS1 to silently record a DSL20H head directly into interface?

The line out signal needs an IR in the DAW.
Sorry for the late response. This is something I am unfamiliar with. Please explain and thank you much.
