Love this vlog. To me it is not about buying luxury but learning how to buy quality that gives luxury. I am a hardcore thrifter and have bought items that I would never pay retail for - Hermes scarves, YSL, Fendi etc. If you can't afford luxury learn from it - look at the fabric, the tailoring, the colors and thrift something similar. You don't have to buy everything that Monroe buys, or be an influencer but you can learn a lot from her and develop your own style in fashion, makeup and home decor. My girl is on top of the trends. 👏🏾🙌🏾👍🏾
Yes! This! It doesn't have to be luxury either! There are plenty of quality brands out there without those hefty price tags but looking at fabric and durability helps when shopping anywhere. Thank you Denise for pointing that out.

It doesn't bother me to see luxury items...I don't allow myself to buy outside my limit but I'm inspired to put together what I have in a way that makes me feel good. A note about the gatekeeping you mention at 10:00 in the video: I've found that gatekeepers tend to fall into two camps - those who can't partake in the activity/purchase, but use their knowledge of it as a weapon against those who can (envy). Those who can partake in the activity/purchase and cling onto it as something that makes them special/ as a form of identity. (fear) In both camps, the knowledge, being "in the know" is a way to give themselves the illusion of social cachet, which is incredibly fickle and is defined by exclusion. As someone who has worked with people who are very very wealthy, they really don't give a sh*t, because they have real power and therefore don't need to cling on to specialised knowledge in order to feel special. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry that you've experienced enough people like above to even have to mention the phenomenon in a video💔
