He is so tight with the riffs, very melodic, flowing. He looks so upright and relaxed, no wasted movement. Masterful drummer, very technical and groovy

I don't know what happened to Shalaty. You all can see in SickDrummer videos that he wasn't that sloppy on feet, he was on point. Since from some years ago there're a lot of video showing he being sloppy as hell on double bass. But this doesn't take all the value of Shalaty's drumming: he's versatile and creative as hell! Shalaty is a beast of his own kind!

I know this guy who teaches at this "school of rock" here in Miami and I ALWAYS tell him to teach his drum students to watch these guys or jazz drummers... aside from the speed their technique is very similar (death metal and jazz drummer) - all wrists, drums close together and they ain't hitting too hard. that's how you get them fast chops- not like douche-bags in grunge or glam-rock bands who have their arms flopping about...

I like Immolation and Steve Shalaty but he could play a little harder. If it suits him fine, but i and a lot of people prefer a litlle METAL in my Heavy, Thrash, Death or whatever and a little Rock N'Roll showing of doesn't offend me. When i want to listen to Jazz or slower/mellower stuff i'll go listen to it. And for your information there are a lot of Jazz drummers that play harder and at a higher volume than this so don't be so fucking limited. You're the one that came of as a douchebag.

Good thing for triggers or you wouldn't here his foot work. Hopefully when his ankle is 100% the foot work will be a lot better.
