Which seems to be a strong indication that Mephiles is referring to being erased when Elise blew out the flame of Solaris, but likely as a result of the White Space literally existing outside of time, an aspect of him still exists, trying to claw his way back in.

Frontiers' dlc shows they are planning to introduce more characters to the games by making it a sorta testbed for Tails, Knuckles and Amy; the characters the are the "priority" to implement in modern sonic games. Silver though is the one that is probably the most tricky to implement right given it's very different while trying to keep the general pace to the movement. Or give him a weapon like chakrams.

Sonic is one of the baffling franchises where they can create nostalgia for bad things and even make you look forwards to seeing them in the future. Generations makes 06 stuff seem weirdly cool, and now this whole Shadow half of it makes the original Shadow the Hedgehog seem like worth playing.

What if Big the Cat was there (not physically but conceptually) in Frontiers to help Sonic? He knew the stakes and sells you keys to obtain the Emeralds. Could Big the Cat be related to the Ancients? Is Big the Cat actually God himself? We may never know...

Sonic is one of the baffling franchises where they can create nostalgia for bad things and even make you look forwards to seeing them in the future. Generations makes 06 stuff seem weirdly cool, and now this whole Shadow half of it makes the original Shadow the Hedgehog seem like worth playing.
I mean... it kind of is? It's not like they butchered the gameplay, it's just the progression and story presentation that's somewhat questionable.
@@ShadwSonic I mean, Sonic 06 had massive potential it was basically the closest thing we got to Sonic Adventure 3. I wouldn't even say the progression or story had anything to do with what was wrong with it. The game was just bad, like flat out. Which is sad because again it had such potential but it got completely squandered by that holiday release deadline.

I smoked through Sonic generations before playing shadow and... the difference is night and day, Shadow feels so satisfying to control.
I haven't played a sonic game for like 17 years but the Shadow animations and this game still make me cry a little. His story with Maria and Gerald is so touching

Its obvious that Big the Cat's inclusion has deep lore implications. What if he's more than just a mere mortal? Could Big the Cat solo The End without any Chaos Emeralds? What if Big the Cat was there (not physically but conceptually) in Frontiers to help Sonic? He knew the stakes and sells you keys to obtain the Emeralds. Could Big the Cat be related to the Ancients? Is Big the Cat actually God himself?
