She is probably my number 1 role model as a teenager. Its amazing to listen to the music she wrote at my young age of 15. It's beautiful what she wrote, and so beyond her years. It stuns me because I am still so lost and unsure of myself.
I will NEVER get over Laura's greatness as an artist. I fell in love with her my sophomore year of high school about 5 years ago and she still blows me away
I really think that her music is so much better like this and not overproduced like some of the albums are out there to be purchased. I wish that they would release all of her music like this
@DafniElissa Somebody told me that one of the first times she played this song live she said that after she wrote it she felt like the lyrics were highly related to a movie, but wouldn't say which one. Someone in the audiece shouted ''twilight!''. She turned red and laughed!
@Lukelo92 What other recordings are you talking about? The other ones I see of this on youtube seem to just be taken from this actually. Just judging from the fact that all her little breaths and other quips seem to match up to the video perfectly. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time. :9
Another gem from Laura. I'm pretty certain the tuning is DGDGBbD. Well I can play it that way and it all looks exactly like Laura does it. Not that difficult ... but very clever ! The other song in the session, 'Don't Ask Me Why' is on the same guitar with one small tuning change ... DGDGBD, and I've managed to pick that up the same way, it's a bit easier to play ... but I couldn't write such perfect songs, copying is easy ! Cheers
Who the hell "disliked" this song!!!!... they should probably be forgiven because they clearly have some mental health issues not just questioning tastes.
Although i love Emma's Imagination (Must be the music finalist) - just realised that Laura Marling is about 7 years younger than her - damn, this woman is SO talented, it's scary (Y)
She didn't write this song for twilight. She explains it in another rest in the bed of my bones video. She told the audience that she was in a show and she said "this song could have been written for a movie, right?" and someone shouted "for twilight!" everybody laughed and the myth was spread, but she doesn't like twilight haha
i don't think that she wrote this song for ANY particular movie. i actually think -because i watched a video of her saying something similar- that she wrote the song, and AFTER writing it she realized that the song could fit the plot of some 'popular' movie. then, a guy yelled 'twilight' and now everybody thinks she wrote it for that so-called-movie.
Well this is the frist I've ever heard of this twilight crap. Seeing I don't watch that crap, I was unaware any of laura's songs were included much less written for. I honestly doubt this. I believe laura writes songs as the mind and body creates them. Even though her new album is very much intertwined in lyrics and titles, I think its just a natural progression... or so id like to believe. Seeing her on dec 1st in minneapolis. This is the artist I've been trying to see for years.. my fav
@DafniElissa well no she didn't write the song for Twilight, she was actually ashamed that there was a relation between her lyrics and that horrible movie
@tarp11z - how silly. I'm not a fool who salivates over showy guitar solos which is what you appear to be assuming. Technique is not an end in itself, only ever a means. I will not be drawn further on this.
Who cares if she wrote it for Twilight or not ? This is a beautiful song, and altho I don't like Twilight, well at least it will have good music in it.
If Laura Marling was all I could hear in this world, I'll be just fine
her voice is absolutely flawless.
she's only three years older than me.
if i was even half as talented as her,
i'd feel pretty grand about myself.

she has such a unique guitar style, encorporating rythum and melody at the same time. A rare gift and a beutiful touch.
I've never heard this one! Great song. Laura Marling is awesome.
Personally I don't give two hoots about her hair color as long as she keeps making such amazing music! way to go Laura \o/
This is talent, original, subtle, and finite.

she is a musician!
not only a singer!
that is what makes the difference!
How can someone have such a voice?? I mean it's one thing to have a big voice but this... her voice is like magic!!!
I love this!
Great video. Excellent sound, viddie, song, performance.
Thanks for this post.
Oh wow, i'm itching for a new album already!
I love you, Laura. Sincerely, Everyone.
Wow! Blown away!
i didn't recognise her with a fringe! i love this song so much, heard it live and it was stuck in my head for weeks on repeat. :)

.....and now Kristen and Robert have declared they're huge Laura fans.......... the plot thickens!

@Lukelo92 this song hasn't been on an album yet?
@BananaBreadHead tbh, just makes her even more AMA-zing
i'm smitten
how can a human being have that kind of voice?
What is the tuning for this song?
@georgeglen those are the tunings i use too. i reckon they're right. :)
@kittycatcatcatt Hahahaha thank you. :D
@pmjrit she doesn't really market herslef as a guitar prodigy, just as a super song writer
Does anyone know what make her guitar is?
@jairgraham16 I second that!
@workyoubasterd i always assumed it was written for The Lovely Bones. just a guess but i think it fits
@DafniElissa we all do, I hope :)
@awsinger1 No, it's just the light.

@xxdandelion Writing a song for twilligt would embarras me too.

Young, pretty, blobde, talented it's true but I am personally acquainted with people who are better guitarists.
Critics are just wierd.
Nonono this is no good I had swore to myself that I woldn't have listened to any of her new songs before september 12
