About the copyright, I have been watching 2 channels with One Piece anime reactions for a long time. Maybe you can do something similar to what they do: @JDanime2 and @iShinobi.
Two advices: 1 - Toei is more hawkish than Netflix and if you show a lot, they'll try to take down your videos 2 - Don't read the titles or watch the openings, both of them are heavy on spoilers.
One thing about Luffy and Coby here. Luffy genuinely did not like Coby at first. It was when Coby slowly revealed his dream, then finally decided to fight for it whether he died or not, that Luffy gained respect for him and started to like him. Luffy doesn't just automatically help anyone. He is not a hero. But if he respects you and likes you, and you're lucky enough to be one of his friends, he will fight to the death for you. And often when he saves a group, it's either because his friend is part of that group, or they just get helped because Luffy fighting for his friend benefits them.
You def hit the nail on the head with Luffy. He does feel younger and is just brutally honest with everyone. He's not that way to be a dick, he just tells it how he sees it. Luffy in the anime also leads by example where as LA Luffy tends to sway people by words and then backing it up. LA Luffy feels like Luffy later on the series a bit.
the manga started in 1997 but the anime debuted in 1999! As the series progresses you'll be able to see how the art changes as they go from traditional art to digital animation
Oh I know. It hurts me when there’s some amazing pieces of music, and there’s never acknowledgment. Of course other reactors can focus on what they want to focus on, but music is so integral to storytelling a lot of the time

If I have a complaint it's that I'm over 600 episodes in and with a few exceptions most of the BGM you hear in this episode are the same pieces used where I'm at in the series. Granted, with the pace they've put out episodes you can't really take the time to come up with character leitmotifs and rearrangements that are specific to scenes, but no matter how good the pieces you have in episode 1 are, you kind of wish they'd take the time to occasionally bring in something new over 15 years...
I have to be honest, I love your reaction. Your thoughts on the music is a breath of fresh air and the comparison to the live-action is so interesting and new to hear. Can't wait to watch more! Please put more episodes in a single video if possible because watching one episode at a time is pretty tiring at times. You might have less views too.
The fun thing about having seen the live action first is that while they stayed true to most parts of the story they did some creative changes to shorten the running time and make everything flow more quickly into each other which means even if you already know the things from the live action you'll still get a lot of surprises here. Some of the introductions are very different. And while I think the live action adaptation did a fantastic job I think some of the more emotional moments hit a bit harder in the anime like for example Nami's backstory. Obviously I am not gonna spoil anything. It'll be interesting and I am looking forward to hearing your take on the differences between the live action and anime from here on :)
One detail: The anime at first also changed some things from the manga. For example, chapter one is actually Luffy's backstory with Shanks, and Nami doesn't appear during Alvida.
Welcome to the team. You are the only few who reacted to both live and anime. It is tough to adapt anime to live action because anime exaggerated on a lot of things like food and the distance you go when you hit someone.
Manga/Anime Luffy: Kind and friendly LA Luffy: Kind and friendly AND nice OG Luffy is still loveable, don't worry, but they did tweak his characterization a bit in the LA. His bluntness and selfishness probably won't translate well in a less goofy/slapstick context.
Good ear for the music! One Piece's composer, Kohei Tanaka is probably one of my all-time favourite Japanese composers. He's written music for anime and videogames for decades and his distinctive style is always recognizable while still being able to match the tone and feel of the different settings he's brought on to compose for.
The music in the anime is so amazing. It’s one of the things that hooked me into the series initially. Just wait until you get to tracks like “Overtaken” and “To the Grand Line.” I can’t help but to hum along to them every time they come up in an episode. With how much I can tell that you appreciate OSTs, I can’t wait to see your reaction to hearing these tracks for the first time.

Yeah, the pacing isn't too bad, but because there's so much content they had to speed up for the Live-Action. On the topic of how Luffycs attitude is a slight representation of Garp his Granddad. Even though you've seen him super early in the Live-action.

I haven't watched the live action yet so I don't know how the music is or if it's any similar to the anime music, but I looove the music of the anime. As someone who doesn't have Netflix and thus hasn't been able to watch the Live Action adaption yet it's also very interesting for me to hear your comparisons between the two; as someone who started with that instead of the Manga or Anime. :D
After you take on this journey long enough. I recommend you rewatch One Piece Live Action again and try to see reference they put in there're so many reference in Live Action that long time or hardcore One Piece fan will notice. Also, if you want to see more detail of this One Piece world or other stories that occurred outside of Straw Hat crew's perspective, there're chapter cover pages stories in manga that show the story of other character we met before like what they're doing at each point of stories. Many of them are relevant to the future episode/chapter too. There's also SBS corner in manga, which is Q&A section for fan ask the author about certain detail of characters, location or anything about One Piece. For example, characters' favorite/least favorite food, nationality if they're IRL, birthday etc.
There are some anime and manga differents I like to bring up. Like it started with Luffy's childhood, This scene happened on Alvida's island base, And Nami didn't appear till Orange Town.
Iñaki's version of Luffy is unironically beloved now as well...though I would like to see him Goof around more in Season 2, now that he has Usopp with him.
Yeah, several personalities were tweaked or presented differently in the LA, either because of cultural differences or because the change in media wouldn't let certain things translate as well. Luffy's bluntness was toned down a bit in the live-action, for better and for worse, which gives the character a different feeling depending on where you watch him, but his essence is always there.

The real luffy which is in the anime is so hilarious. You'll love him. You'll laugh a lot with luffy anime, if you plan to watch more. Luffy will give u crazy laughter.

I think one of the reasons Alvida is more imposing is because they tried to make her ugly and obese, and went all out with it, and also made characters say stuff about her that nowadays probably would offend a lot of people, giving her many reasons to get mad and scary. There are two extreme sides, when it comes to this, and I'm not even gonna say which side I'm leaning towards. So in the live action, I do believe that they were trying to play it at least a bit safe, and focusing more on people calling her stupid. But also, she is not animated, she is a real actress, so I guess it could get insulting, very quickly. I do, however, think that they did a great job with her in the live action, especially for how little screen time she got.

One Piece EARLY Episodes mainly Episode 1 to 30 is quite HARD To Swallow for New Viewers .. but it seems like Live Action made it easier cuz people had moments to compare and enjoy
It begins. For this show I'd suggest doing 2-3 episodes at a time if you have the time...going to take you forever to get to the really good parts going one ep a day.
Heads up, it's better to do 3-4 eps reaction batch instead of 1 at a time when it comes to One Piece. Also avoid the eps titles cuz they usually spoil what happens in the eps
At some point you might need to switch to several episodes per video. There are some fillers and there are bits that are skippable like the recap so an episode is actually shorter than most other anime, An alternative If engagement drop is only posting reaction to key episodes and put the description of the episode in the title (eg peak of xxx arc, xxx fight with yyy).

One piece ost is great!!
One Piece music is top tier. Too many good pieces of music.
At some point you might need to switch to several episodes per video. There are some fillers and there are bits that are skippable like the recap so an episode is actually shorter than most other anime, An alternative If engagement drop is only posting reaction to key episodes and put the description of the episode in the title (eg peak of xxx arc, xxx fight with yyy).
After episode 4 it will be multiple episodes

Episodes are so short, imo do 2-5 episodes in one go [with only one OP intro per watch.., outros are too risky, as previews spoil near the outros)
