Thank you Deborah for letting us hear Josh’s story and see his creations. So refreshing! I live in the cold northern Midwest, but am fascinated by succulents and cactus. I have made numerous mini indoor succulent/ cactus gardens as a result of reading your beautiful books. Please keep doing what you’re doing!
Hi Liz, You're in luck, North San Diego is THE Mecca for ornamental small aloes perfect for containers. Oasis Water Efficient Gardens nursery in north Escondido has a great selection. Oasis is owned by Altman Plants, where one of the world's foremost Aloe hybridizers works: Kelly Griffin, who is known for, among other things, colorful, textural and intriguing dwarf aloe hybrids. www.oasis-plants.com @@lizadams6227
Maybe the same way I do...I apply a pre-emergent herbicide to bare soil before winter storms to stop weed seeds from germinating. One brand is Preen amzn.to/42PPj8k (affiliate link). Hey Josh, if you see this, would you reply?

Always glad when you post new videos. Keep them coming, Debra!
Thank you! I really enjoy making informal documentaries like this. Makes me happy that someone's out there wanting them!
Josh's garden is one of my favourite - an otherworldy creation. 😍 Hugely inspiring for my own UK based arid / tropical garden.
How cool to get the perspective of a UK-based succulent enthusiast! Thanks for commenting.

This delights me, Jenni! Thank you!
This site is beyond compare! A naturally formed giant boulder group enhanced with the spectacular plants! It should be a public garden someday!
I agree. I hope Josh has plans for a parking lot!
He will need a parking lot for all the business he is getting from his propagation!

Dream profession!
Love this video!
Very interesting! Thank you for sharing. It's a good thing I don't live quite close or I'd be on my way tomorrow.
I liked the habit of the red ortholopha, and orange quartziticola.
Amazing
Thank you Debbie, Love from Desert Game Farm and Tented Lodge, Namibia. Please come visit! (Mrs Mike)
Gosh, I'd love to!

Ferox and aloes!
What do you think? Is there a rarity that surprised you, or one you'd love to have? Tell us!
I would be interested to know if there are some smaller aloes that would work in containers. I’m in Rancho Bernardo and our summers are quite toasty.
