I love that I can come to your channel and hear about books I don't hear about anywhere else. I've added many to my tbr list. Now if I can find the time to read them.
Hello Rick!! Hope you've been well 😁 Yes to these recommendations. I looove The Service (Influx Press are amazing). I also recently read Mrs Gaskell and Me which was so sweet!!
These all sound great! I had the Murikami/Ozawa book checked out from the library but the return date snuck up on me before I read it........that's pretty much how I roll. Def need to put it back on my holds list.
Hi Rick :) Thanks to you I'm about to find out if StoryGraph has a limit on the TBR list you can save. ;-) Another GREAT list of recommendations! Also thanks to you I will enjoy about 15 minutes of awe from my TH-cam-obsessed teen who is super impressed that someone gave me a shout out. lol Love the video... off to read!!
Just was looking up Morality Play this week for a Reddit Question about books set in Medieval times and thinking how good it was and how no one speaks of Barry Unsworth’s books anymore, and here you are putting it out there into the universe too. I really wanted to reread it in relation to Station Eleven and the idea of the traveling theater troupe and their ability to bring complicated truths to the surface.
Sadly, I feel like Station Eleven took up this space for people (“travelling troupe bringing truths to the surface”) and that will make it even less likely for people to discover Morality Play or give it a chance. Hopefully I’m wrong!
Thank you very much for the recommendations! I've picked up two. Recently I've read "Good morning, midnight" by Lily Brooks Dalton and I loved it. I think you will love it too. Somehow I feel this is just the book for you at this moment. It is about grief, regret, hope, travel, the wonder of human striving to know. Beautiful language where every word is at the right place and at the right time.
Just added "The Wind that Lays Waste" to my ever-growing TBR list. Latest additions to my ever-growing currently-reading list are "Death and the Penguin" by Andrey Kurkov and "The Orphanage" by Serhiy Zhadan.
Just discovered your channel here. Morality piqued my interest! I really like that you don’t share the same books that other booktubers recommend here on TH-cam. Do you rate your books too?
Thanks for watching! I rarely give books ratings. I tend to focus more on how it made me feel or what I took from it, and less on ranking it against other books.

This is my favourite compliment I get, Michael. So, thank you!
Oooo Morality Play sounds so interesting. Thanks for putting that on my radar. Great, rapid-fire recommendations :)
Thanks for watching , Carolyn 👋🏻

I’m currently doing the same with a library hold as we speak 😂

Gould's Book of Fish definitely sounds up my alley!!
Yay!! I love when you do these videos. So many great recommendations so little time.😉
These videos are TBR killers 😂
@@RickMacDonnell definitely!!
I recommend The Door by Magda Szabo. Rick, if this isn’t your type of book I’d be shocked.
NIKKI I JUST GOT THAT BOOK *GASP*
Absolutely on Music totally sounds like my jam (so to speak).
Yes! It absolutely does. One of the best books about classical music out there.
You've got a good list.
My recommendation to you is
Devotion by Hannah Kent 🤩
My first 5star read of 2022.
I have nearly bought this book so many times over the last few weeks 😂
Can't believe Rick finally acknowledges the existence of The Brood. Shift in the tectonic plates lads!!
I like to encourage people to beg for my affection

Brood Love ❤️ 🐓
(Also how dare you imply romcoms don’t have depth 😂)
Let’s not do this 😂 I love rom coms! But they’re also what they are 😄
