    I am totally guilty of “someday clothes”, but on the other hand they are clothes I did fit into as and adult at a healthier weight. So not to waste money, I keep them to wear when I lose my excess unhealthy weight. I do allow myself to snack when I am really hungry but choose a healthy option that is tasty. Love these tips, thank you🥰

    Thank you so much for this video! As a Buyer for a few women's clothing stores, let me just say that sizing is ALL OVER the place. Some vendors run more like juniors than women's, and even different jean styles from the same brand fit completely differently. Depending on the brand, you could be a size 25 jean in one style and a 28 in another. It's about so many other outside factors that have nothing to do with your own body like fabric composition, fit, the demographic, etc. It makes me so sad to see beautiful women hung up on the size of their clothes because every manufacturer is different. And I always say: no one is going to look at the size on the inside of my jeans anyway! If my clothes fit me well, then I feel confident. It can be hard to break this mindset but don't let clothing manufacturers make you feel like you need to fit into their clothes!

    • @LoveSweatFitness
      @LoveSweatFitness  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      YES!! That's so refreshing to hear because it drives me crazy trying to buy clothes being one size in one brand and then like 5 sizes different in another. Size doesn't matter at all as long as you feel good :)

      I honestly don’t save clothes in hopes of fitting into them one day. Believe me, when I lose weight and can fit into a smaller size, I am celebrating by going out and buying NEW clothes. 😂

    Why at 31 am I expecting to still fit into clothes I wore 10 years ago? It’s okay to go 1 size up when you’ve been weight training for 2 years! So guilty of number 4. I got rid of it all!

      After the birth of my children, I went down to my previous weight, down to the last kilogram. However, the structure of my body is still changing, I had to buy the pants size bigger and also turtlenecks unless I wanted that 'free boobjob' look. Oh, my feet expanded half the size too.

    My BIL actually ended up in the ICU for water intoxication. He drank so much water to be healthy that he messed up his sodium and electrolytes. Drink water when you're thirsty, but don't just drink water to drink more water. My take away from his hospitalization was to just listen to your body.

    I was in a car wreck and broke my back and neck. I had to learn to walk again. I am doing better now (still in a lot of pain most days but I try to push through) My highest weight was 300, then I stopped drinking soda and eating better and lost 40 pounds. I can't do a lot of workouts but I do what I can. I'm hoping to loose at least 70 more pounds in the next year.

    I’m guilty of the someday clothes, and like some have said, it’s mostly items I used to fit into when I was smaller. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism in early 2021, and I ended up gaining more than 50 pounds. Since February, I’ve taken up ballroom dance, and I’ve managed to take off about 20 - but I’m still not at the size I was pre-diagnosis. It’s just hard to let go of those items, especially dresses I absolutely loved. At my smallest - in my 20s, working an active job - I got as small as a size 4. Now in my mid-30s with a hypothyroidism diagnosis, I’m celebrating the fact that I can fit into a 14 in my pants and dresses again. You’re absolutely right - it’s not the number that matters really, it’s how you feel. And I’m still not where I want to be, but slowly getting there. 😊

    I think Goal clothing is far healthier than a goal weight. It sounds like your mentality is different and not everyone will be feeling that way. I don’t get upset and I don’t expect my goal jeans to fit for at least 16 weeks because it takes a very long time being dedicated to get there. The visualisation and fittings each couple weeks are good for motivation if you have a positive mindset.

    The “someday clothes” phenomenon is so real. I also feel like it’s an extension of the “someday life.” You dream of how happy you’ll be and all the things you’ll get to do and how much better your life will be once you lose weight. It’s sad.

    • @LoveSweatFitness
      @LoveSweatFitness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's true and it can cause you to miss out on all the good right now! I am all for picturing a version of yourself in the future to work toward "HER" buuuut not when it comes to being a certain size or other things outside of our own control.

  • @BreakThroughTessTimmons

    Frozen yogurt I think 4 me is "buy one at the bakery" that way it's not at my house. Sure, but I'm buying it too often, couple times a week. Thanks Katie.
    Bubble bath, nails- Katie this could be a great video- swap food rewards with better rewards. I'd love more tips on this. I was raised with "food is a reward" and it's still hard for me to unwired this. A busy week and late night working would "excuse" me to grab restaurant and to go food because I'm working so hard I deserve a break from cooking etc. But that thought process isn't good 4 my mind, budget or body.

    • @LoveSweatFitness
      @LoveSweatFitness  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm so glad this helped!! And being healthy doesn't mean you have to make every meal yourself, but making different choices when you do buy it out will help feel good about mentally and physically. I get the shift from food as the reward can be hard, but just think...would you rather spend money on something that will be gone in moments and usually leaves you feeling crappy after OR on something that will help you relax, boost your confidence and give you a longer lasting reward? :)

    Everything you mentioned in this video is very true - at least in my personal experience. My head and ears were ringing because most of what you said was something I used to do, something I am currently doing or something I’ve researched and considered doing. It’s easy to believe the hype and lies of commission earning TH-camrs and the One-Size-Fits-All’s (ex: Kardashian/ Jenner Cult Clan (Ozo and surgery)) only to feel worse about one’s slower progress and/ or sadly, lack there of. Thanks for keeping it 💯 REAL TALK! 👏

It’s really been great. I still eat pizza, ice cream once in a while. I don’t drink which is just a personal choice but noticing how foods made me feel, being bloated, looking at why. Looking at my moods, why do I feel like this. Sticking to a sleep & wake time… those Healthy habits will help us live happier longer lives

    I have been watching your online advice for quite some time now, I myself have an underactive thyroid, which is hypothyroidism, you have some good recipe ideas, healthy food options, & ways to store food, exercise options are good also to some extent, the only thing is I'm nelly 50yrs old, I'm not sure of your age but I do know I could loose weight alot easier when I was your age even with my thyroid condition which I've had since birth, & the doctors found it when I was the age of three, but at that time it was over-active which meant I could not put weight on, my balance was shocking would fall over all the time, plus my heart rate was through the roof which is why I spent alot of time in & out of hospital, they told me I probably couldn't have children, etc, as I went through puberty, my thyroid changed it went underactive, I put on weight, was lethargic all the time, my hair thinned out, wouldn't grow properly. Anyway I ended up having three children I did loose weight got down to 65kgs which is about 143 pounds, but as I am aging as everyone does I find things I'm doing isn't working as well as they did, so I was wondering with your studies on thyroids & weight loss & foods etc which is mainly for younger woman, could you maybe start looking into ways to help older so to speak woman also, as certain exercises for younger woman isn't the best for older woman, as you age muscle mass depletes, things like that, menopausal issues can be an issue as well.
    Thankyou for all your information so far though, something has been a real help.
    Thanks for looking into it not just for me but for other beautiful a little older woman I leave it at that lol.

    I am 50 years old and am recovering from a knee injury. I also have fibromyalgia and arthritis. Before I got fibromyalgia I could push myself and do more exercises and it was tough but fun. Now it seems like every time I exercise I feel horrible the next few days. I have arthritis in both knees and shoulders. I started lifting weights to give my knees a break but it messed me up for days. My doctor says just focus on my diet which I am. I lost 14 lbs. But I need to lose so much more. Do you have any advice for people like me?

      First, congrats on your progress so far! That's amazing! Diet is for sure going to make the biggest impact up front on your weight and how you feel. Then worry less about pushing yourself and find something that is sustainable. Maybe it's walking or swimming to start but stick with it and that will help a ton!

    Thanks for the insight. I’ve fought with the weight concept for 35 years. I come from a genetically ‘sturdy’ family. I understand it is important to eat for well being and health but it is so hard when you feel betrayed by your own body. Now that I am older, I’ve come to the realization that I don’t eat enough healthy protein so I’m trying to step that up. I really enjoy physical activity and am a fairly active mountain biker but since the menopause thing, I feel like I’m struggling to enjoy the ride since I’ve gained 20+ pounds. In addition to the 5 things you listed in another video and these 6, it gives me a balanced view to strive for. Instead of eating less (like fasting and skipping) I want to eat better and smarter. Any good protein shakes for recommendation?

    Yes! I had a bag full of jeans I kept for years. Well I surpassed the size of those jeans and I was tiny, put them on thinking there would be some glory light all around me, and then I look down and they were just so out of style! I donated those jeans and never looked back. It made me realize how much pressure those bag of jeans put on me to lose weight. They were NOT the reason I lost the weight because I finally forgot about them, but when I was starting out, I kept failing. Now, I no longer keep things with the hope of someday because it just puts pressure on me and I need to live in the now.

I use to starve myself and restrict myself soooo much i didnt enjoy life any more it was all about my diet and workouts and losing weight even tho i was already so thin . Im 10lbs heavier now but i eat good & i dont restrict so much now i still workout 5 days out of weak or more but i have my moments where i compare my body to my 25 year old self and not remembering what i put myself through ! The “healthy” night snack is so relatable 😂 I used to eat a frozen yogurt bar every night, and I felt good about it, because like you said, it’s frozen yogurt, it’s healthy 😅 I just stopped doing it, because it’s not necessary! I’m listening to my body, and some nights I just don’t need a snack! I also do the “one day clothe “, but it’s stuff I buy, and when I try them on, I don’t really like the fit , but I’m glad I kept them, because they show me my progress and how my body is changing, and I’m so proud of myself ❤

    I definitely have a pair of size 2 pants from late high school/early college. The truth is, I was 115 pounds when I graduated high school, at 5'10"...there is no way in hell that I'll ever be that size again. I was often called bean pole, or tooth pick, and it is more than unrealistic to expect to be that small again. The truth is, I'm realizing I don't want to be that size again. I like my butt, and I like my hips and thighs, do I have more than I'd like and feel really crummy? yes lol but that's a part of the journey that I'm learning to accept now and I love watching these videos to see that I'm not alone in this journey, and I feel more motivated to FEEL good physically and be comfortable in my skin.

    You were right you were not doing it right because I lose super fast if I’m restricting I am always removing carbohydrates. If you gained on Atkins it was because you miscalculated your calories as it’s super easy to estimate wrong if you aren’t careful those calories add up fast.

    👖 I disagree with this. Pictures of any kind and weighing myself DOES NOT WORK. Having "that dress" and "those clothes" 1000% works for me. When my goal is to fit into those clothes again, 1. I know that I can do it and 2. It really helps motivate me to continue and do better. I actually went down a dress size today! That's a big deal as a new mom with postpartum body pains and struggles. Everyone is different. You cannot for a surety say what motivates someone.
