Thanks for the native discount! Really like the plastic free option and I'm so glad to see they've changed from the cylinder to a "normal" looking deodorant shape. Can't wait to try out new scents. 🎉
25 year airplane commuter here - now retired. My experience with a carry on (roller bag) was that if I did not check it at the Departures counter, they would start looking for volunteers at the gate and then force you to check it from the jetway if there was no room left on the plane. The advantage to checking your bag on the jetway is that it's free and your bag is 'last on - first off'. You can pick it up plane-side or on the jetway at your destination. You mentioned some great tips. I recommend packing cubes with rolled clothes, especially if traveling with a partner. Also, I flew out of PHL for many years - not some of my best travel experiences. LOL.
I used to travel a lot for work. A coworker taught me the best lesson-dress like a guy. Guys don’t worry about wearing things again. She would travel for weeks with a single bag. I had a “mobile office” carryon that had a sleeve for my laptop and For overnight trips I used a packing cube for a change of clothes and a small makeup bag.
We have just returned from a trip to Norway (2 adults and 2 teens). We all managed to travel with just a small day pack rucksack for the very reasons you talked about. We were away for 3 nights and took no extras. We even left room for souvenirs! It's the first time that we have done a minimalist travel. It was so much easier and so quick and easy to unpack when we returned! Another great video Erica! Have a fantastic time with your sisters!
I am a one-bag traveler, and you are an EXPERT at this. I loved this video. I only take three bottoms and 7 tops, including what is on my person. That is my formula. * Thanks for something bright and hopeful to watch.
That was an excellent, very complete and informative video for people who haven’t flown in a while. I can only dream of being a light packer. The issues I have with packing are one reason I don’t like travelling much. Good suggestions, Erica.
Love minimalist packing vids, would love to see a video when you get back on what worked and what, if anything, you would pack differently. Love your channel ❤️❤️
I always take only a carry on when I travel on a plane. I just refuse to pay luggage fees. It helps to keep a capsule wardrobe so you can wear an item more than once. I always put together outfits for each day before I pack.I keep an umbrella in my carry on and that way I never forget to pack it.
Thank-you for the tips, I love your videos. Don’t forget to pack your list and use it for the return, they you are sure not to forget anything. You can add anything that was purchased as well as you go. Happy travels!
A tip for shoes @ airport: I wear slip on sneakers (the Kind that you don't have to lace up that have those stretchy cords in them instead of regular laces). That way it's easy to pop them off and put back on. Have a great trip! :)
I remember having a conversation in my teens with a lady in a train 'if you've packed for 3 days allowing for all weather and activities, you've packed for 3 weeks
Erica thank you for this video. I have found it so helpful and inspirational. Although I’m not planning to fly anywhere soon I will be rewatching this video when we go to France in August as space will be limited in the car. I ordered a pair of those slip shorts from Amazon. They arrived next day and I’ve already worn them. They are AM-azing and a revelation to me. They make wearing a dress SO much more comfortable. The Jockey brand is such good quality and I’m sure they will last for many years to come.
I love these packing videos. I got a tip many years ago (it won't be for everyone), but I save items that are just on the verge of being trashed like underwear or undershirts, socks. I wear them for travel (or if they're not seen, any day) and then TOSS when done. It opens up a little room for 'bring back' items. We joke in our household that we better NOT get in an accident. lol
You're so fun to watch! I'm using packing cubes before to separate my personal things from others until I bought this bento bag from Nomad Lane. This bag packs like a suitcase and it has compartments on the outside and easy-access pockets and it fits under the seat! So I can get anything I want easily.
All outerwear, not just large jackets/coats, need to come off unless you have precheck or are over a certain age. In the 20 times I've flown since getting my first inhaler, I've never had to pull my inhalers out at security. The only "just in case" items I bring these days are medical related, mainly because I can't necessarily get the ones I need where I'm going. I have an entire bag dedicated to medical stuff, and it doesn't count toward my carryon limit, it's awesome, and all 3 bags fit nicely onto my wheelchair while still leaving both hands free. And because I always preboard (love not having to pay for it - all I have to do is tell them I want to preboard), I never have to worry about there not being enough room in the overheads for my 19" carryon, except on the little regional jets - for those, they make basically everyone gate check their carryons, because the bins on those planes are only 1/2-2/3 the size (smaller in all 3 directions) of the ones on your standard 6- seats-across planes.
I worked for TSA and I appreciate you sharing this. I pack the same way as u. My husband and I went to Hawaii for 15 days and we each had a roller we put in the overhead and a backpack. So easy and no chance of it getting lost. Packing light is the only way to go
A few weeks ago, I flew first time in 5 years. The whole main airport had changed AND they had new x-rays that allowed not separating liquids or electronics. Mind blown! As I had forgetten that I acted suspicious, and surprise, surprise get to go to "random" check. What a "surprise"? :,D Not separating liquids would have been helpful if we wouldn't have to go to connective flight at different airport. :D
You are spot on! I travel a lot and I'm happy to say I have graduated from the long ago days when I used to pack a ton of "just in case" stuff. Unless you're going to a remote jungle or something, you can buy those "just in case" items almost anywhere. Enjoy your trip!
I haven't flown since Pre-covid! Now I'm waiting for prices to go down (how long will that be?????) I'm still happy to watch other folks get ready for trips! I hope you and your sisters have LOTS of fun!
👌😘✨Hi, good advices ;) thanks ;) it gives me the wish to try to do a travel bag and travel very soon :) i can not go on travel immediately but I plan it when finishing a big work project, as a reward :) so it motivates me to keep it up on my big work and then i will appreciate these practical advices :) and watching it now inspire me that it can be very relax to prepare all going minimal :) have a lovely trip inspiring gentle woman :) i am wondering if my next travel might include a sister visit so too ;) .. ;) thanks for all inspiration advices and gentleness you spread on this crazy world 😅😘✨
Oh we could have had a meet and greet!! I was just in Nashville on Friday. I live 1 hour away in Kentucky. I hope you had so much fun with your sisters!! CMA Fest?
Dear Erica, a few years ago you used packing cubes and loved them at that point. Don’t you like them anymore? I’m just wondering because I maybe wanted to buy them myself. Have a nice trip, love your channel!
I used the previous discount code and purchased the 3 set of deodorants and I’m really happy with them! My favorite is the Lilac and white tea! I also have unscented and cucumber mint. Thanks for the discount!
As always great tips and advice. Hope you have a fantastic time with your sisters. Thanks for discount code too. I don’t think Ranger wants you to go. Stay safe and healthy. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍🙏💐🐕🦺✈️
Just got back early this morning from a trip and I always tell myself that I’m going to pack like a minimalist, but it somehow never works out that way. I need to watch this video again next time I go somewhere. Thanks for the packing tips!
It annoys me when the overhead compartments are full - it normally means that someone has used the compartment above you to store their stuff or they have taken more than what is normally allowable.
I do have an unconventional tip: if it is not a romantic trip, I pack old underwear and socks, wear them one last time at the trip and trash them there. I only do this with stuff I would have trashed anyway. It sounds strange but it actually makes space for souvenirs.
I have heard you can take a pillow and it does not count as a bag or piece of luggage. So you could fill it with a pillow case with clothes. one that zips. May vary by airline I'm not sure

Yeah! Let me know which one you like best!
i have decided that olive green is a neutral 🤗
The coral shirt can definitely go with the green shorts, in my opinion anyway.
Definitely. I was thinking that as well. One of my favorite combos actually.
Agreed!
I agree!
Agree!!

Great information. And I'm in love with Ranger.

I use compression packing cubes for clothes for all types of travel - highly recommend ✅️

I do similar with face cream, toothpaste etc. I take the almost empties. They take up less room and often don’t come home again.
Me too! Plus the rule to never take anything I would be heartbroken if lost or stolen!
Hope you have fun or had fun with your sisters.
Great tips. I always prefer to pack light when flying
I have a travel fit. I wear the same fit on day 1 and the Last day.
So do I.

I haven't flown in years. So many more rules. I'm flying within the U.S.A. soon. This made me aware of our current reality.
Love this! Packing is always a challenge for me, especially when I pack for everyone! I do plan outfits, though.
That look from Ranger was to cute.
There was even extra space in that bag! Well done!
Great tips and I love the dress you’re wearing. Enjoy your trip!
Sister vacay - Yes please! Great packing tips. Thank you!
Have fun! Nashville is a great city!
Have fun in tennesee!
Thank you for inspiration. We're packing our trailer for camping trip. It still helps.
Have fun enjoy

This was very helpful as I am going on a week vacation starting on Monday. I will be taking the train and will only pack a carry on.
We just got back from 5 days at Nashville!!

Ready spaghetti 😂👍🏼✅ hope you have a lovely vacation with your sisters 👯♀️ this was so helpful thanks lol 💝❤️💖
My husband and I fly enough that we registered for TSA Precheck. It does make TSA security faster and easier.
Have a great trip!!
Happy Monday Erica I will be traveling in November for a weekend so glad you posted this today God bless yoy
Oh gosh you are in my area!!! Have fun!

I was able to purchase Tribe deodorant at Walmart here in Canada and I love it - thank you
This is a great Video. Let's hope I travel soon!
I got a pair of those under dress shorts on recommendation! Amazing!
I wore older socks going to airport after going through checkout I threw the socks away and I took another old pair to wear home. B
Have a great time!
Mega Babe Thigh Rescue is great for chafing.
Great and helpful video! Thank you for these great tips. And by the way... you look so nice in that dress!

Check the weather app of the city you are going to visit…

Have fun!! We enjoyed the Johnny Cash museum and cafe. Can’t wait to hear all about it!!
Oh we could have had a meet and greet!! I was just in Nashville on Friday. I live 1 hour away in Kentucky. I hope you had so much fun with your sisters!! CMA Fest?
It's a few years since I flew, and the packing rules were getting complicated, even then. Nowadays, packing looks like a minefield.
Dear Erica, a few years ago you used packing cubes and loved them at that point. Don’t you like them anymore? I’m just wondering because I maybe wanted to buy them myself. Have a nice trip, love your channel!
Love a packing video you did great getting all that in a carry on 🌺
Have so much fun!!!
Perfect timing! I’m leaving on a 5 day trip next week! Gonna watch this again! Thanks, Erica!💗
Great ideas. Thank you.
For inner thigh rub, Monistat Chafing powder gel is another amazing solution!
I use heel balm with a screw on cap. I used to use Body Glide's anti-chafing stick, but it tends to melt at high temperatures.
Have a safe trip and have fun! Thanks for the tips.
Hi Erika, I was wondering where you got your striped dress? Thank you for all the great tips!
Sorry ERICA! I bet you hate that.
Now that was satisfying and absolutely perfect packing - I'm keeping this for future travel. Have a lovely time away with your sisters 😊
I only live about an hour and a half away from Nashville!
Erika, have a nice trip, buen viaje
Love Nashville! Have fun at CMA fest!
I _love_ Ethique! Been using their personal care products for a couple years. Haven't tried their cleaning products yet, how did Flash bar do?
Ranger! 💖
I used the previous discount code and purchased the 3 set of deodorants and I’m really happy with them! My favorite is the Lilac and white tea! I also have unscented and cucumber mint. Thanks for the discount!

What was your career?
Be sure to save your list on your phone or computer. No sense making the list every time you travel.
I have heard you can take a pillow and it does not count as a bag or piece of luggage. So you could fill it with a pillow case with clothes. one that zips. May vary by airline I'm not sure
Thigh rub!!!!
Has she gained all the weight back?
Why would you even ask?
How rude!!! You can be any weight and still have your thighs rub together, depends on how wide your hips are.
Great video!
