We started way too early with some seeds as well, including cougettes. Started new seeds this week 😅 and the early once ended up in the compost... All we need is some good weather now! Happy growing🌱

I think we are all guilty of that at some point! I still do it sometimes I must admit! I've got one courgette under the grow lights as an experiment, doing well, sowed too early haha

That would certainly help! No sign of true spring yet! 🌧️

I have a very small gardening space. So far, I've planted two types of carrots and some spring onions outside. You've reminded me to start some courgettes - thank you!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the blue potatoes do. I intended to grow the same variety, but ended up just planting the potatoes I saved from last year.
You won't be disappointed with "Incredible" sweetcorn. I've grown it the last couple of years and it's been very reliable. I sow them in early May, they don't take long to get to a good size for planting.
It's really great to be watching your content and learn from what you do, especially when we're growing similar things this year.
Oh, also, I echo what you said about salad being better in spring, but if you manage to crack the secret for growing fresh salad in summer, that's my current learning goal.

I'm excited for the blue ones also. Although I can't imagine blue mash potatoes 😂 I'm pleased to hear you also grow the same sweetcorn! I've found the best chance of summer salad is growing in the shade, but the slugs are relentless in damp shady areas in summer

I have several varieties of carrots planted. One variety is the ox heart carrot, wide on top and narrows down, stays short. Some can reach a pound, and quite manageable at processing time. I plant early sunglow corn for short season, a dependable variety for years.
The garden is showing potatoes, onions, beets, carrots, and peas. The peas have taken a hit, as the robins like to pull them up. Had to cover some up with chicken wire. Never had to do that before. They don’t eat them, just pull them up. When we discovered them I was crushed, they where special saved seed. Now I am over it, learned a few things and moving on. #one, if you have something special protect it from day one. 😢 those pea roots were happy and growing straight down, some six inches, because of the early planting that was done. Now a bit of a set back. We pushed the pulled out ones back in the ground, and they are trying. Still sad, still a crushing blow, but moving on. I have been saving pea seed for years. Last season I decided to be a bit more selective with the seed I saved 😢 moving on 😊

That's heartbreaking 😔 gardening is full of it's challenges isn't it! I hope your next lot are more successful! I like carrots to be bigger as it's less peeling for me 😂

I can’t wait on garden and I don’t put anything in ground yet because it’s scary is frozen still later and cold at night.
