The production values are excellent, as well as the action. At first, the video looked like a short film from "Dust" until I realized it was an extended trailer. I need closure. Don't accuse the military of wasting money. Cruise's weapon sports an M16 barrel that appears to shoot 5.56 ammo. Like they say, "If it worked sixty years ago, it'll work for another sixty." It's in the outer realm of possibility that somebody might have said that. Also, if Tom is going to race around on a dirt bike without a helmet, he should yell, "I feel the need; THE NEED FOR SPEED!" That would have done it for me.
There is no way to determine the caliber of a rifle by just the flash suppressor and a small bit of a barrel. Most likely for the movie, they did use a rifle chambered in 5.56, because it is a common rifle and there are many platforms that could be modified to look futuristic. But in real life, you could determine the caliber just by what you can see in the movie. I could lay out my M4 in 5.56 next to my 6.5 Creedmoor recon and you couldn’t tell which is which. Same goes for my Mini14 in 5.56 vs my Mini in 300 Blackout. At a glance, you really can’t tell which is which.
@@mopar_dude9227 Yep. You'd need to bring out a program that could measure the barrel diameter. Anyways, stealthhumor was wrong, as the military is now implementing 6.8 SPC.
Tom's character skirts the edge of oblivion here. The original one was killed and cloned. None of them can claim to be the original, though all apparently have potential to unlock their memories of the original. Protagonist clone meets wife, has a baby with her, dies. Genetically it might as well have been the child of the original. Second clone we meet encounters the wife with the child, memories fully restored, but not the original. Very intriguing.
Whoever did the sound effects in this movie needs a trophy and a raise.

No SimCity technological hacks are allowed in the Planet, no anti-gravity, laser weapons, etc. Any malfunctions, they can be physically imvestigated if the situation, circumatances allow for it, and the drone erased deleted, replaced. As opposed to a Repair Troubleshoot Diagnose Gameplay.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE TOM CRUISE MOVIES.
Which one is this?
@@shivanshmishra8733 OBLIVION.
criminally underrated movie
The tech in this film was so cool
Great movie. And I’m very picky.
I've seen this movie several times and have enjoyed it every single time. Enjoyed seeing this clip. Thanks!
What is this movie name
@@dharmichinni3742 "Oblivion" - 1994. I really enjoy it.
I liked it also. It took me about a dozen viewings just to figure out what was going on. Slow witted, I guess.
I'm a hetero, so I enjoyed watching the women as well.
I was impressed by the way Tom was able to seperate his artistry from his psycho religion. I'll buy more of his movies.
Impossibly slick movie. Crisp and perfect visually.
He'll be saved. I used to think he wouldn't, but now I'm certain he will despite the horrific direction he's believe in.

I told ya to tone it down after the "couch" incident...but you still had to push it.
Please make Oblivion 2!!!!
Another underrated movie.
Those sounds of the drone are really scary
Flying Robot is lost, huge territory to search. Should we:
A. Search with our remaining fleet of flying robots.
B. Search from an aircraft that can travel superfast, and as many sensors.
C. Make cool statement, travel by very slow dangerous motorcycle. Abandon Aircraft.
C it is!
One of my personal favorite movies. Best played ona big screen and loud. Science fiction, well thought out twisty plot where the whole truth isn’t clearly made until a certain moment, and even then they leave a couple plot twists for the end. Great great storyline with well developed characters. Why the reviews on this didn’t catch this gem I don’t know, but I suspect some Tom cruise bad politics. Cruise is the bad guy and the good guy all in the same person. Some hot naked women, amazing work on graphics and sound, and a spectacular soundtrack.
My favorite movies in no particular order.
WALL·E
Shawshank redemption
Oblivion
Bridge of spies
Forrest Gump.

Great movie, especially up loud. love the sound of the killer drones.
Their mannerisms are great, too. A unique personality.
A masterpiece. Even the title, as a matter of fact, is 200% perfect for this scenario. Brilliant
Really enjoyed the movie but loved the soundtrack, it replaced Armageddon as my favorite soundtrack. Trapanese and Gonzalez hit it out of the park IMHO.
An eye-candy movie and nothing else.
Even in a wasteland he somehow finds a way to ride a bike!
And a hairdresser. Just for the ride.
Lol yeah even when it makes no logical sense story wise. I mean, it would be much easier to search for that drone on the ground rather than just keep using that flying thing he has been flying around in, right?
This movie is my favorite and of course rain man few good men and last samurai classic and epic
yrs in the future and still cant get a frkn comms radio to work inside a building
That movie is a beautiful metaphor to remind us that it is better to take care of our land, our home, than to just keep running away for whatever new promise land, that exists somewhere, whether it is Mars, another country, family, city or whatsoever.
And how authorities can lie.

Yea you completely missed the whole movie.......STAY AWAY FROM THE ALIENS..... the Earth is being farmed by Aliens....

Are you an effective team? Terrific.
The cool thing about this is that it's supposed to be War of the Worlds second chapter kinda, look at his cap, it's the same one from War of the Worlds. :D
The aliens in WOTW were wiped out so of that's the case this would be a whole new threat, and what he was like 40 in War of the Worlds what did he become an astronaut overnight? Doesn't make sense i call BS.
@@badmonkey2222 They are putting out a message or something, there is just too much camera shots on the cap that he is wearing, he was wearing the same one in War of the Worlds.
@@badmonkey2222 Their harvester machines got destroyed, not the aliens itself and in Oblivion he is a clone with a wiped out memory,
so it could be 1000 years after WotW...

Hi
This is like a good version of death stranding
Always take deflection rollers for your cable.
Gane is over
Doesn't help much when someone shoots the thing.
So, where's the drone attack?
