Hi Mr. James. I am so confused of where the base is located from a parallelogram. Please teach me how to do this. I am so confused. I don't exactly know the reason why a base is located in a certain area. Why is the base on the bottom of an area. PLEASE EXPLAIN. i am sure others have the same problem. Are you finding the area of parallelograms? If so, the base of a parallelogram can actually be any of the sides, so it doesn't technically matter which side you chose to be the base. You will need the height of the parallelogram as well, that will depend on which side you choose to be the base. The height will be the distance from the side you chose to be the base and the parallel side directly across from it. So yes, you certainly can use the bottom side for your base. If you want to stay consistent, then you can always use the bottom (base is usually considered to be the bottom side that a shape sits on). But technically speaking, any side of a parallelogram can be considered the base. Now if only one side measure is given to you on a parallelogram, then use that for your base. I have a video on finding area of parallelograms, so if you need more information please let me know or check out that video (search "parallelograms with Mr. J" and it should come up).

righ,theres another way on multiplying fractions, but not using models :
Al u have to do is multiply the numerator of both fractions and the answer if that is the numerator of the answer . And now that we have the numerator all we have to find is the denomenator,and as u guess we are going to multiply the denominetor of the fractions and the total of that IS the denomanator of the answer and there u have it ur answer ..and u can simplify it if possible
