Hey Friends, After Dom was towed, she was taken to an ASE certified mechanic and it was determined she needed a new engine due to lack of oil (multiple rods went through the oil pan) & Her dipstick was completely dry. Walmart changed her oil filter, removed oil, and never replaced it before sending me on my way. As of today, I am still waiting to hear back from the claims department. Hopefully, Walmart will own up to their error and Dom gets a new engine and we are back on the road. I will continue to keep you all posted. And as always, thank you for the support!!
Greetings. I am sorry this happened to you. I had this to happen to me in North Carolina when I was traveling. I had a trunk and was coming back to Florida that broke down on the side of the road in Ocala Florida. The shop mechanic fail to put the oil back in my engine and the cap back on. Open the hood to find 3 not five but three bottles under the hood. I think it was a joke done by the black males that felt as if I rejected their advances. I am thinking The Most High God that I had the money on my account to pay for a tow truck driver. It was three hundred and something dollars for him to toilet the rest of the way. The shop and work online. Never owned up to it. But they wind up losing their business and their own personal car is breaking down. The most high God our heavenly father doesn't play when it comes down to touching the anointed ones of his children. Neither does he take it lightly when people take advantage my brothers. I will continue to follow your story. Hoping and praying that you and Domino can get back on the road ASAP. maybe you should start a go fund me. This actually happened to my Aunt several years ago. Walmart did not put oil back into the car after an oil change. It is for this reason, I never take my car to Walmart or those 10 minute oil change places. They’re lazy and incompetent non- mechanics. I’m so sorry this happened to you and Dom.
My daughter was with a friend going back to college after spring break a couple years ago and they stopped at Walmart to get four new tires. Got 20 miles away, going down the freeway at 70 mph and a tire just flew off. It was never even found! They were so lucky to be alive. Walmart said "you're supposed to re-tighten the lug nuts yourself". The friend sued them and won. I'm so sorry this happened to you!
@@twrigh23 something that a lot of people don't know is that you are supposed to re-tighten the lug nuts again 50-100 miles after having tires serviced. But they shouldn't just fly off after 20 miles.

I know I’m watching this 3 years late because I’m binge watching considering doing van life as a married woman but solo. We used Walmart many many years ago and never again because they forgot to put the oil in and luckily my husband checked before we left there

I used to get oil changes and tires from Walmart. The last time I took my car there was about a little over a decade ago because they gv me new tires on the previous trip, and a few months later, I went in for an oil change and someone discovered I had the wrong tires on my car. Altho I got the tires from them, they asked me where I got the tires. LOL. They put the correct tires on the car, thankfully no charge, and I never went back. Lolol! Crazy...

Well I feel your pain, sis but thank God you was able to get out of traffic. But I am speaking a blessing out of this. Hopefully it nothing that will cost you any major money out of pocket. Oh no! I'm so sorry! I had something similar happen/ My regular oil guy was busy, went to WalMart to get it done. I was on the road on my way to visit family when my car started acting funny. Thankfully, I hadn't made it out of the city yet. I took it to my regular guy and he said that WalMart had messed up. To this day, two cars later, I don't take my car to WalMart for an oil change. I hope this gets resolved. They owe you!

Head gasket blown.... is what it sounds like I remember I had to happen to me in my vehicle that white smoke smell of like steam mixing into the engine. It was unnerving and super crazy. About to get back to watching your video... all the best to you and safe travels #Artisbluu
Ohhhhh Dom!!! Get better. Consider doing a fundraiser to cover the cost. That's what other TH-camrs have done (one had to completely replace their Mercedes engine, the other's van got totaled). I'd donate to help you get back on the road!!! #GetBetterDom
I had the same thing happen to me at Pep Boys. I went in for an oil change before a trip an didn't get 20 miles out of town before the oil light came on. Turns out they drained it but never added new oil. Luckily I buy oil by the case So I added 5 qts on the side of highway. I always keep al my fluids, plugs, belts, battery charger, air compressor etc. In all my vehicles. JIC. Although now I change my own oil and filters.
Hey Brittany!!! That is a horrible situation and I'm so sorry that Dom is down for now. It sounds EXACTLY like what happened to me on a car that I took into the Ford dealership for an oil change. Someone drained the oil and forgot to put new oil back in it. I drove the car after picking it up and the engine siezed on the highway. I made it to an exit and at the top of the hill the car couldn't go any further. The dealership replaced my engine at no cost to me so that was a benefit and I got a brand new engine. I HOPE that is what happened to you (WalMart fault). Hopefully it'll work out for your good. Continue to Be SAFE out there and Thank you for sharing. 😎
yup, that's what happened to Dom. They removed oil and forgot to replace it... now it's just a waiting game. I've submitted everything, and now i'm waiting.
My guess as to what happened is that they tried to put the drain bolt in and couldn't tighten it properly (whether it was stripped or not), and they decided to fill it with oil anyway. Then as you were driving, it slowly leaked out. The amount of oil you showed on the ground was nowhere near the amount there should be in your engine, so I'd suspect there's a trail of oil drops all the way from Walmart to where you stopped. The oil gauge you see is actually the oil pressure, and it can maintain the pressure even if the oil is low, but only to a certain point. When the oil drops below there, you'll suddenly lose pressure and your engine will have no lubrication. The white smoke is potentially a really bad sign, coolant burns white and there should *never* be coolant in the combustion chamber. Combined with the clanking sounds just before you stopped, I'm really worried for your engine. Hopefully it's nothing that bad, but running without oil destroys an engine faster than just about anything else you can do. This is exactly why I do my own oil changes. And hopefully this never happens again, but if you ever see your oil pressure suddenly drop like that you need to pull over ASAP, you don't have time to get to the next exit. 60 seconds can be the difference between minor damage that still runs, and a totally destroyed engine. I'm sorry this happened to you, hopefully you can get back on the road soon! Edit: I just saw the pinned comment, and yeah, that's about what I expected. This is 100% on walmart, they should have noticed the oil was leaking and told you that you'd need to get it towed.

I saw the title of the video, then you said "Walmart" within the first minute or two and I was like yeah, that explains it. I won't even buy dog food from Walmart. I live in a full sized bus, so I know how it is trying to get groceries when a nomad. Yes, Walmarts are easy to find, but there are always grocery stores nearby, and the local non-chain stores are pretty cool sometimes too. I hope you learn your lesson from this and go to actual shops instead, or just do your own oil changes from now on. Hope you get back on the road soon! Do a ton of videos about this, call every single day, and even mention the WalMart store in question because otherwise, you're going to be waiting months and months before they take any kind of action.
So sorry that this happened to your bus. I hope that you are blessed with a brand new bus or that the current one gets tricked out for the inconvenience. I hope WM takes responsibility and treats you well regarding your repairs.
Can't rethread striped out threads, they should have told her not to run it...a new oil pan was needed.. moral of the story..never trust a bunch of tards work on you car. Never

For that to happen on the highway is scary, but you handled all of this like a BAWSE 💯 I pray the Dom gets fixed soon at their expense and you can keep to your travel schedule💗 I had a very similar thing happen to me but from Jiffy Lube. Oil everywhere and billowing white smoke behind me just moments after pulling off their lot. Unfortunately, I was young and didn’t know much, so they basically got over on me and I didn’t get compensated for their negligence. I loved that little car. She was an 86” Town & County station wagon with the wood paneling, wood grain interior, leather seats and power everything in MINT condition with low miles. I bought her for a steal from a retired couple, which the husband only drove it to the barber shop. They had 3 cars, all garage kept. She was a little beauty. RIP Woodi 💗
My car gets oil change by 3 different resources so if there is problems I can trace back to oil change b4.. one time I had oil change and they didn't put oil in

my sis everything happens for a reason, anytime I go to Walmart I stand right there the whole time and watch the technician to the end because some of these guys are shady not just at Walmart, they see a woman and assume you won't check their work, I ask to see the filter they take out and watch the complete drain and refill and before leaving check my oil, if the stick is missing or oil is not filled problem solved on the spot and a refund because somebody was trying to be slick. I pay for service not shady. You'll be blessed with something better. I'm starting my VanLife in 2022!

Please have a relative or friend that you trust to check both your oil level and oil pam plug. I had a shop to do this to me in 2018. Forgot to put oil back in amd the oil cap. I brought down 2 in a half hours from coming back to florida. I refused to leave truck in Ocala Fla. I had to pay $300 or more dollars for an Ocala tow truck to bring me back. My van was in N.C and I had another truck in Florida parked. Due to another mechanic shop sabotaging that one as well. It's tough being a independent single woman out here. This happened to me at an express oil center. They left the cap off and the motor blew up down the street from The shop. I was so mad. It was a brand new car
As an owner of a commercial vehicle and been on the road for 4 years, I feel you. All mechanics/car service are not created equal. American Discount Tires put 4 ply passenger tires on my commercial vehicle when it needed 10 ply. I wish you the best.

You need to file out a report at Wal-Mart and give it to the manager. Be very detailed about what happened. You must do it at the Wal-Mart where the damage occurred so they replace your engine or more if needed.
Hey My Boo said what they probably did was cross threaded it and stripped it and the oil seal was lost, that is probably what happened. That is on Walmart.
We will say one thing sometimes explosions (ignorance of others) are set off to warn the one getting the message..they what u to sit still for three months and replan...I'm glad your safe sis..and your bus will be fine...I felt the steam coming from your pores😯..all is well
Couple years ago they left my oil cap off and I happened to notice oil in my driveway the next day. Drove straight there never lifted the hood. What I did find out is they have cameras oh, so they knew exactly what they did. I got 75 bucks an engine clean and my money back Whoopi
With all these negative comments about WalMart, I just want to say I have gone to WalMart for oil changes and other minor servicing for over 10 years and never had a problem. I took it to a nationally known auto shop and they dropped my car off the lift and didn't tell me about it. One of the employees pulled me aside and told me what had happened when the boss was not looking.

I had the same thing happen to me at Pep Boys. I went in for an oil change before a trip an didn't get 20 miles out of town before the oil light came on. Turns out they drained it but never added new oil. Luckily I buy oil by the case So I added 5 qts on the side of highway. I always keep al my fluids, plugs, belts, battery charger, air compressor etc. In all my vehicles. JIC. Although now I change my own oil and filters.

Hey Brittany!!! That is a horrible situation and I'm so sorry that Dom is down for now. It sounds EXACTLY like what happened to me on a car that I took into the Ford dealership for an oil change.
Someone drained the oil and forgot to put new oil back in it. I drove the car after picking it up and the engine siezed on the highway. I made it to an exit and at the top of the hill the car couldn't go any further. The dealership replaced my engine at no cost to me so that was a benefit and I got a brand new engine. I HOPE that is what happened to you (WalMart fault). Hopefully it'll work out for your good. Continue to Be SAFE out there and Thank you for sharing. 😎
yup, that's what happened to Dom. They removed oil and forgot to replace it... now it's just a waiting game. I've submitted everything, and now i'm waiting.

My guess as to what happened is that they tried to put the drain bolt in and couldn't tighten it properly (whether it was stripped or not), and they decided to fill it with oil anyway. Then as you were driving, it slowly leaked out. The amount of oil you showed on the ground was nowhere near the amount there should be in your engine, so I'd suspect there's a trail of oil drops all the way from Walmart to where you stopped.
The oil gauge you see is actually the oil pressure, and it can maintain the pressure even if the oil is low, but only to a certain point. When the oil drops below there, you'll suddenly lose pressure and your engine will have no lubrication. The white smoke is potentially a really bad sign, coolant burns white and there should *never* be coolant in the combustion chamber. Combined with the clanking sounds just before you stopped, I'm really worried for your engine. Hopefully it's nothing that bad, but running without oil destroys an engine faster than just about anything else you can do. This is exactly why I do my own oil changes.
And hopefully this never happens again, but if you ever see your oil pressure suddenly drop like that you need to pull over ASAP, you don't have time to get to the next exit. 60 seconds can be the difference between minor damage that still runs, and a totally destroyed engine. I'm sorry this happened to you, hopefully you can get back on the road soon!
Edit: I just saw the pinned comment, and yeah, that's about what I expected. This is 100% on walmart, they should have noticed the oil was leaking and told you that you'd need to get it towed.

I saw the title of the video, then you said "Walmart" within the first minute or two and I was like yeah, that explains it. I won't even buy dog food from Walmart. I live in a full sized bus, so I know how it is trying to get groceries when a nomad. Yes, Walmarts are easy to find, but there are always grocery stores nearby, and the local non-chain stores are pretty cool sometimes too. I hope you learn your lesson from this and go to actual shops instead, or just do your own oil changes from now on. Hope you get back on the road soon! Do a ton of videos about this, call every single day, and even mention the WalMart store in question because otherwise, you're going to be waiting months and months before they take any kind of action.
So sorry that this happened to your bus. I hope that you are blessed with a brand new bus or that the current one gets tricked out for the inconvenience. I hope WM takes responsibility and treats you well regarding your repairs.

Can't rethread striped out threads, they should have told her not to run it...a new oil pan was needed.. moral of the story..never trust a bunch of tards work on you car. Never

For that to happen on the highway is scary, but you handled all of this like a BAWSE 💯 I pray the Dom gets fixed soon at their expense and you can keep to your travel schedule💗 I had a very similar thing happen to me but from Jiffy Lube. Oil everywhere and billowing white smoke behind me just moments after pulling off their lot. Unfortunately, I was young and didn’t know much, so they basically got over on me and I didn’t get compensated for their negligence. I loved that little car. She was an 86” Town & County station wagon with the wood paneling, wood grain interior, leather seats and power everything in MINT condition with low miles. I bought her for a steal from a retired couple, which the husband only drove it to the barber shop. They had 3 cars, all garage kept. She was a little beauty. RIP Woodi 💗

Yeah I learned that lesson the hard way with Walmart. Similar thing happened to me with my car
my sis everything happens for a reason, anytime I go to Walmart I stand right there the whole time and watch the technician to the end because some of these guys are shady not just at Walmart, they see a woman and assume you won't check their work, I ask to see the filter they take out and watch the complete drain and refill and before leaving check my oil, if the stick is missing or oil is not filled problem solved on the spot and a refund because somebody was trying to be slick. I pay for service not shady. You'll be blessed with something better. I'm starting my VanLife in 2022!

Please have a relative or friend that you trust to check both your oil level and oil pam plug. I had a shop to do this to me in 2018. Forgot to put oil back in amd the oil cap.
I brought down 2 in a half hours from coming back to florida. I refused to leave truck in Ocala Fla. I had to pay $300 or more dollars for an Ocala tow truck to bring me back. My van was in N.C and I had another truck in Florida parked. Due to another mechanic shop sabotaging that one as well.
It's tough being a independent single woman out here.

It took me years to recover from the sabotage done to my 3 vehicles by the opposite sex.

As an owner of a commercial vehicle and been on the road for 4 years, I feel you. All mechanics/car service are not created equal.
American Discount Tires put 4 ply passenger tires on my commercial vehicle when it needed 10 ply.

You need to file out a report at Wal-Mart and give it to the manager. Be very detailed about what happened. You must do it at the Wal-Mart where the damage occurred so they replace your engine or more if needed.

I started changing my own oil after spending yet another day off looking for a open slot for an oil change.
Hey My Boo said what they probably did was cross threaded it and stripped it and the oil seal was lost, that is probably what happened. That is on Walmart.

Couple years ago they left my oil cap off and I happened to notice oil in my driveway the next day. Drove straight there never lifted the hood. What I did find out is they have cameras oh, so they knew exactly what they did. I got 75 bucks an engine clean and my money back Whoopi

With all these negative comments about WalMart, I just want to say I have gone to WalMart for oil changes and other minor servicing for over 10 years and never had a problem. I took it to a nationally known auto shop and they dropped my car off the lift and didn't tell me about it. One of the employees pulled me aside and told me what had happened when the boss was not looking.
